*Rewritten* Ch 6: Helz Isle - Part 1

Several hours had passed since they've been walking around but still, these two hopeless food scavengers haven't seen any sign of civilization at all. Even animals seemed to be at stake here. But worst of all.. there's no:

"Foooood..." Blaze groaned out once again as he gripped hard on his monstrously grumbling stomach.

"How is this even possible.." Shane joined in as she used her sword as a walking stick.

Shane was pretty sure they should've found some food by now, but with their luck, they just passed along hundreds of fruit bearing trees that doesn't even contain a single fruit within their branches!!

What is up with this island?!

As if on cue, Blaze pointed ahead of them and cried out, "A river!" then began skipping towards the gush of flowing water nearby.

"I'll just pretend I didn't see that.."Shane muttered out before she ran after Blaze. "Oi wait for me!!!"

It was just a few meters away that both of the juvenile mercenaries could actually see how the river's current swished agilely through its overlapping boulders. Feel the-

"YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!" A miniscule robed cat with an unbelievingly long gray mustache stuck beneath its nose proclaimed as he waved his walking stick before the teens.

His almond shaped eyes were locked with a fierce expression as if he was trying to protect the river, like he was some sort of guardian.

"This is my river!! Mine!! All mine!" He gestured wildly as he spread his arms out wide to emphasize that he means.

But a certain red head couldn't just stop there! He needed to drink. Now.

With a blank expression upon his face, Blaze walked towards the cat which immediately made it blabber about things again.

"Oi! I said you shall-"

Blaze did one thing that caught both Shane and the cat off guard.

He pushed him off the river.

"CATNIIIIIIIIPS!!!!" The little furball cursed out infuriatingly as he landed with a loud splash and got carried away by the river.

"Wha- Blaze why'd you do that?!" Shane exclaimed as she stomped towards the red head, completely taken aback by what just took place.

"Did what?" Blaze asked innocently as if he didn't know what just happened.

"You-I don't know. I forgot." Shane replied as she threw her hands in the air irritably for not remembering what she was about to say. "Let's just drink."

"I've waited long enough for this~" Blaze whispered in a sing song voice as he cupped his hands over the river and brought his hands near his cracking lips.

It was as if heaven came right down upon the earth at the very second he drank through the fresh crude water.

Blaze never felt so alive as he gulped through the river's refreshing substance as he let it trickle down his parched throat, soaking its seemingly wounded texture. And as he swallowed the remaining portions, he couldn't help but let his hands swoop down again to get some more. Nothing could ever be better~

=AFTER DRINKING THE WHOLE RIVAH [NAH]=

Shane let out a satisfied breath as she wiped off the droplet of water that escaped her lower lip. At least they finally found drinkable water. So the only thing that was left to search for is food.. but where?

As the young damsel looked through her surroundings, she noticed that there were two paths, each by their side. One heading east of the river, and one at the west.

"It'll be a slow search if we take one route at a time. We'll have to split up." Shane decided as she stood up from her position. "Just find some food and bring them here by sundown. Understood?"

"Hai!" Blaze saluted absentmindedly, completely focusing on one word and one word alone. Food.

"Alright. You go that way, I go this way." The girl instructed, pointing at each direction before heading towards the east.

'Wait what?! That way, this way?! So that means..' Blaze's eyes widened in realization as he faced the western part. 'I'm gonna be all alone?!'

~

'Okay, Blaze you can do this. You can do this!!' The red head encouraged himself as he slapped his cheeks to release some tension.

After senselessly standing there for five whole minutes, Blaze finally gathered up some courage and took a step forward. "I'm off!"

"You're gonna die.." A deep old raspy voice whispered through his ear as a long bony hand gripped his shoulder, making Blaze's head turn to its owner.

"Aaaaaaahhh!!! You're so ugly!!! Get your hand off meh!!!" Blaze screamed out loud as he slapped away the hand and ran as fast as he can towards the scary dark forest ahead of him.

"Thinks he can outrun me eh?" The figure muttered to himself as he was left there with the after effects of Blaze's sudden outburst, clouds of sand and a red slap mark on his hand. "We'll see about that."

~

"Phew! I lost him." Blaze panted out as he wiped off the salty sweat that was building up by his forehead using his fore arm.

'Guess that gave me a head start..' The red head thought to himself then glanced behind him. 'Or maybe more.'

With that, he started walking deeper into the woods. The atmosphere, getting darker, heavier and much more deadly. Making the teen go for an abrupt stop as soon as he saw the sight before him.

There were trees all covered in scorch marks, fragments of burnt leaves and a blanket of pure black ash covering the land.

"I have a bad feeling about this.." Blaze gulped as he took out his sword and brought his foot forward, trapping it inside a mouth open human skull.

"What the fuck!?!?!" Blaze jumped up, panic evident all over his face as he started running in circles, skull still stuck beneath his foot.

"Someone get it off!! Get it off!!!!" He kept on repeating over and over again as he tried to shake the clinging carcass.

"Aha!" He cheered as he managed to remove the skull as he used his sword as a crow bar.

Grinning like the idiot he is, Blaze suddenly felt the ground beneath him. It was all mushy and marshmallowy in his opinion as he used his hand to squish its clay like material.

It was actually pretty entertaining until he was sucked deep into the ground in fast motion. Yep. As much as he wouldn't like to admit it, it was quick sand. Very. Quick. Sand.

"Dang it!" Blaze muttered as he landed on his butt in a not-so-pleasant-way.

'Why do I always end up like this?' Blaze complained as he brushed the dust off his clothes and grabbed his sword.

At this rate, he was actually beginning to think that bad luck will always be in his side. Blaze was never a big fan of luck after all. He could actually make a list just within this day!

He was left alone by the love of his life. Met an old scary dude who looked as if his face was related to an ass. Got a skull's mouth stuck by his foot three seconds ago. Fell inside a quick sand which turned out to be a secret entrance to some kind of creepy cave. And what lies ahead just added up to his assumption.

"I'm in so much trouble.."

Blood pooled through the gravel floor as it dripped down from freshly ripped human limbs hooked through the ceiling like gore filled piñatas.

Chopped heads, decorated shelves as piles of skulls, ribcages and other parts of bones the lad couldn't even pronounce loomed across the cavern.

It was a total nightmare. Blaze had to find a way out of here because there was no way he's gonna let himself end up being one of those crazy human experiments!

'I'm too perfect to be chopped to pieces!' The boy boasted to no one in particular as he started to look for an exit but ended up seeing a bright yellow light across the chamber.

'HOLY CHEESE AND MACARONI!!'

Blaze quickly hid behind the stacks of bones as soon as he caught a glimpse of the buttfaced guy he just ran from a while ago.

'Of course! I should've known!! An evil face for an evil scheme!! I gotta tell Shane!' The red head resolved as he gave another peak to see if the coast is clear.

"Thank goodness he's gone." He sighed in relief as he slipped back down his hiding spot, hand gripping on his sword.

"Who are we hiding from again?" A voice beside him asked.

"The butt-shit!!" Blaze's face went so pale he could've been mistaken as one of the skulls beside him.

"Surprised much?" The man chuckled beneath his breath, making the teen dash backward with his sword raised within an arm's length.

"Isn't it obvious?!" Blaze shouted, fear evident in his tone which made him clear his throat to somehow regain his composure.

"Since you seem to be fond of chopping people's heads off.." The red head stated as he looked at the other man's wobbling figure. "Let me add yours in your collection."

Blaze charged at the man, swinging his sword back and forth, clearly determined to end this man's sick occupation. But as he went in for a plunge, his blade went through nothing else but empty air. 'He's pretty fast for an old man..'

Sensing the said man's presence behind him, Blaze quickly swung his weapon, aiming directly for his opponent's neck. This made the other man duck and land an immense punch beneath the teen's jaw.

Blaze could feel the nauseous wave through his stomach as pain rippled upon his jaw after the rock hard impact. He couldn't believe he was actually getting beaten up by an old man!

Gritting his teeth in anger, Blaze lurched forward and released a fury of attacks, slashing and slicing all throughout. But his adversary just kept on dodging his enraged onslaught with a smug grin plastered across his face.

It was as if the man was just dancing through the sword's rhythm. He was being careless. And Blaze couldn't let this opportunity pass on.

With an arcing move, the red head's broadsword sliced through the fabric of the man's shirt. Missing the flesh by what seemed like a mere centimeter. 'Damn it!'

"I've got to admit that I am quite impressed." The man declared as he stopped Blaze's sword by his index finger.

'How is he doing this?!!' The red head gawked at the man's finger, sword trembling within his grasp as he tried to send it down.

"You're the first one who managed to hit me." The man frowned as he pinched the sword's blade, emitting a somewhat purplish substance from his fingers which melted the sword's tip and began spreading across the blade.

Blaze immediately let the sword go as it slowly disintegrated, leaving a puddle of bubbling purple chemical. His favorite sword. Gone.

"As a prize, you'll see my true form!!" The man announced with a hair raising laugh as his height started doubling its size.

His very skin started ripping off his body as it began turning into the color of what destroyed the boy's sword. Poison.

Its dark purplish fluid, bubbling through his very being as he grew horns, his teeth started baring fangs, his fingers turned into vicious claws and his eyes were pitch black, containing nothing more but pure darkness.

Blaze wasn't just fighting an old butt faced man..

This was much much worse...

He's gonna fight a monster.
