3. Omg I'm not ded

*Okay for the sake of this story and my brain, I'm going to write this like all my other stories; in third person. ((Yay))*

// Castiel's POV

Castiel rushed around the empty café, placing new cakes, breads, and coffee cups with new designs in the windows.

He made sure the icing was arranged just right in the perfect rose swirls Charlie loved to make. She would kill him if anything happened to those swirls.

He quickly dusted off the counter and some of the tables, making sure they were perfect. He was so energetic this morning. Why? Well it has been a while since the author updated so you may have to go to the last chapter.

Done? Okay, now that you've remembered, Castiel was so excited but nervous at the same time. Dean was taking him out somewhere today during his lunch break.

He wasn't sure whether to trust Dean or not. Sure he was his soulmate, but he stole his wallet. But he did come back, return it and pay for the pie and coffee. But he was going to pay with Cas' own money. Then again he did end up paying with his money, and he asked Cas out on a date. Well it wasn't a date. Was it? Oh god. Cas began to panic.

"Everyone calm down!" Charlie yelled, walking inside and doing a strange dance. "I'm here."

Castiel laughed, shaking his head and arranging more plates. "Good morning, Charlie."

Charlie smiled and hurried over behind the counter to start working. She placed her bag in the back, pulled her apron on and ran back to the counter to prepare a bag of cookies for Alfie. Castiel had already flipped the sign to OPEN.

Charlie opened the paper bag and began to carefully place cookies into the bag, making sure they wouldn't break. Castiel wandered behind her and turned on the coffee machine. Charlie folded the top of the bag and drew a small heart and cookie with her sharpie.

"You ready for today, Charlie?" Cas asked, placing a K-cup into the machine and waiting for the liquid to pour into his mug.

Charlie smiled widely and set the bag next to the register. "Yes I am! Alfie should be here any minute and it'll be another good day!"

Castiel chuckled and plopped two spoons of sugar before adding some milk and handing it to Charlie. "Here you go."

Charlie thanked him and lightly blew on it for a few times before taking a sip. Castiel nodded and proceeded to make his own cup of coffee.

"Good morning!" Alfie yelled, running inside. Charlie smiled widely and jumped over the counter to give him a hug.

"Good morning!" She squealed, picking him up and spinning him around. Alfie laughed and let himself be spun around. Charlie held him against her hip, her arms wrapped around his waist and walked them over to the register.

"Here you go." She said handing him the paper bag. "Oh, wait!" She set him down and ran behind the counter and began wrapping a sandwich in plastic wrap. She grabbed a juice box and hurried back to the small boy.

"There." She smiled, placing the sandwich and juice box in his bag. "I'm pretty sure school lunches aren't that good anyway."

Alfie nodded as Cas walked out of the kitchen and smiled widely.

"Alfie! Good morning!" Cas greeted.

"Morning, Cas." Alfie smiled. "How did things go with Dean?"

Castiel blushed and leaned against the counter. "You were right, kid. Dean came back to fix things. He returned my wallet and paid for the pie and coffee."

Alfie's eyes widened and he began jumping around. "I knew it! I knew it! I knew it!"
Charlie laughed and jumped around with him.

Castiel cleared his throat to grab their attention again. "He also...um-- he asked to take me out for lunch today."

Charlie's jaw dropped and Alfie's smile grew. There was silence for a few moments before they both started screaming very very loudly. And in that moment, a customer walked in, saw what was happening and walked out, mumbling "nope" the whole time.

Charlie cursed under her breath and ran after them. "You gotta tell me more when I get back! Bye Alfie!"

Castiel pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. Alfie twirled in his direction and giggled. "You have a date." And he walked out.

Castiel fell to the ground and stared at the wall.

"I have a date."

// Dean's POV

Dean licked his fingers clean from the pie he was eating. (Cas' pie) If you must know, he was currently in nothing but his boxers.

It was almost Cas' lunch break...he thought.
It was around 2:40 and Dean couldn't remember if Cas said his break was at 2:30 or 3:00. ((Cas' break is at 2:00 lol))

Maybe he should take a shower first. He had plenty of time. ((Pfffffffffffffffft))

Dean slipped out of his boxers- from the kitchen- and ran to the bathroom, where he proceeded to sing 'Don't Stop Believing' for thirty minutes. Well, he did think he had plenty of time. *shrugs*

After his long shower, he walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist and one wrapped on his head.

"Alright. Time to choose what to wear." He said checking the time. 3:15. Cas' break was probably at 3:45.

Dean yanked off the towels and quickly pulled on a pair of jeans, a random shirt and a grey hoodie before putting on his combat boots (and socks) and heading outside.

He breathed the familiar smell of smoke and looked at the garbage bins laying around, overflowing with trash. He closed the raggedy door to his house, pulled on his hoodie and began walking.

"Please, sir...some...m-money..." A man pleaded atop a pile of garbage. His face and clothes were filthy and he had no hair apart from the locks hanging from his chin.

Dean scoffed and walked passed him. "Barely got anything for myself." He mumbled.
A few kids ran around, angry mothers chasing after them.

Dean walked until he reached the edge of his neighborhood. There he saw them. Two girls walking towards the city. Two decent girls with pricey-looking handbags and clothes.

Dean took a few deep breaths and began running.

"Oh my god Becky, like I can't! Why did he even dump me like ugh seriously?!" One of them whined.

"Um...maybe you shouldn't have burned his clothes because you didn't like the color?" The other mumbled.

"Ugh! Becky! Shut up! I had to burn them!"

Dean ran fast as he approached them and grabbed one of the girls handbags. Tip: if you're stealing a purse, make sure the straps aren't like locked around the person's arm. Make sure it's kinda loose so you can run and grab it w/o a problem.  ((Idk))

"Hey! Stop! Somebody stop him!"

Dean ran faster and rounded a corner into an alley. He stopped once he knew no one was following him and began checking the bag.
Not much cash, a few pictures, some makeup, a cookie bag...oH SHIT CAS.

Dean sighed and ran back to his house, ready to actually change into some decent date clothes.

Maybe he had time for another shower.

// Castiel's POV

He had a date.

Key word: had.

Castiel's break ended almost an hour ago.

He waited outside the cafe, Charlie was freaking out. Screaming about how Cas finally had a date and how she was so freaking happy. But Dean never showed.

Charlie ended up bringing him a sandwich, a slice of cake, and some iced tea and ate with him while other employees were in charge.

She swore to murder him if he ever showed his face at the cafe again.

Now Castiel was angrily packing cookies in boxes and cakes in bags and wrapping sandwiches in plastic wrap, sticking stickers on them.

He must've been giving this bad aura/vibe because everyone kinda seemed to avoid making eye contact with him. Or any contact for the matter.

"That'll be $8.87, ma'am." Cas mumbled, sliding the bag of food across the counter.

"Whoa, what's your problem? Becky, pay for me." The girl scoffed, flipping her short hair to the side.

Cas rolled his eyes and stared at the other girl, not expecting her to actually pay for the food. But she did.

Charlie shook her head at the situation as she poured coffee for a customer.
The girls took their things and left.

"Cas! Charlie!" A voice squealed. Everyone in the cafe turned their attention as Alfie ran into the room, a wide smile on his face.

Charlie smiled widely and waved. "HEY, KID!" Cas laughed and also waved. Charlie began preparing Alfie's usual afternoon cake.

Alfie ran up to the counter and looked up at them. "How'd the date go?" He asked as Charlie handed him his plate and small spoon.

Cas' smile faded and he began to angrily pack cookies again.
Alfie sat at a table and ate his cake.

Charlie poured a cup of milk and walked to his table. "Dean didn't show up, kid." She said, setting the cup down.

Alfie's eyes widened. "Vaat?" He asked, his mouth full of cake.

The little bell above the door rang and in came freaking bow-legged Dean in jeans, a t-shirt, and leather jacket.

"Speak of the devil." Cas mumbled, shaking his head.

"Hey, Cas. Ready for our date?" Dean asked, smiling widely.

Cas scoffed and Charlie began laughing. "I swore I'd kill him."

"My lunch break was an hour ago, Dean." Cas spat, turning away and cleaning the coffee machines.

Dean's smile faded and he checked his watch. "No. No no no...shit."

"'No' indeed." Cas laughed. "But hey, it's fine! I don't even know you! The fact that we're supposed to be soulmates means nothing."

"Cas, listen-- "

"I have to check on the cooking in the back, feel free to order something and not pay for it again." Cas said, walking into the kitchen.

Dean stood there, regretting his life choices.

Alfie finished his cake, said bye to Charlie and gave her her hug before walking over to Dean.

He swung his leg back and kicked Dean's shin hard, causing the man to yelp.

"What the hell!?"

"You need to fix things." Alfie said before walking out.

Charlie narrowed his eyes at Dean as she walked behind the counter.

"You really need to fix things."
