Prologue | Sneak Peak

The story of God's favorite always fell on Samael, the archangel who tried to start a rebellion, failed, and got banished to a new dimension known as hell, changed his name to Lucifer, and ruled over the realm.

That's how the story went, that's the way it was written, how it was told, and what everyone remembers, but the story lacked the truth. It hid one of God's most embarrassing stories. The shame of almost losing the battle due to a hidden weapon Lucifer had possessed. The fear alone made God change the details. He did not want to make the earth realm live in fear of what truly lurked in the hell realm.

The real story was worse, scary, and deadly.

Samael may have been God's favorite, but Kane held the love of the leader's heart. Kane was said to be God's up-and-coming leader, the all-mighty was being taught how to work the worlds, help others, and bless those who needed it. Kane was one of the few that made the lord smile in admiration, as he learned.

It didn't start as something ugly, it was beautiful, pure, and innocent.

It started to unfold when Kane was given power by God, making him more powerful than all. Samael was envious of Kane, he was supposed to be God's favorite, yet he was never gifted power, and he never brought a smile to God's face.

It was soon to realize that Samael was now plotting evil, he wanted to destroy all that God loved, by turning the one God truly loved against him.

Lucifer was truly a snake, taking all the things God was proud of and making them evil, and unpure. Including Kane.

Kane was loyal to God, serving him and listening to all his wise words. He spent his time tending to the needs of others and working in harmony with His Lord. God treated Kane as if he were his own son, training him and giving him power, trust, and above all, love.

Kane was pure and it was good.

It wasn't until Samael had gotten Kane alone and told him of evil things God was doing that he did not wish to believe the words of someone who speaks so poorly of His Lord.

But Lucifer was sneaky and consistent, adding doubt to Kane's once pure and innocent brain.

The doubt only continued to grow, as Samael had tinted one of God's creations. When the war began, God was blind-sighted that Kane was no longer on his side but was helping Samael.

God's heart broke that day, as he had to defeat Kane, Heaven barely won that day, as Kane was vicious. His power was too strong, the only thing that stopped him was God's spike.

The spike barely pierced the heart of Kane, but it was enough to weaken him. Although Kane had turned his back, God could not bear to kill who he once held so close.

He banished the pair to the hell realm after the Heavens were able to overpower them.

Kane was turned from a guardian of the heavens to a demon god, his anger toward God now turned to Samael, splitting hell into its own war.

The war only got worse when Kane found Stefan, a human who could withstand Kane passing through him, to get between the Earth and hell realms. Stefan was strong enough to take on the strength of a demon god, but was he strong enough to bear all the problems Kane dragged with him?
