First day back to school.
It's going to be great.

I just hope we don't get any girls trying out for the squad that don't bring the fire.

We already a well trained oil machine. But we forced to do trials every year even though we always stay the same girls every year.

Every. Single. Fucking. Year.

Why even bother with trials?? Its pointless.

I trust my girls. My squad. I don't need no random chick coming in possibly destroying that trust.

I know what you thinking. This bitch doesn't even want to give them a chance. No its not that I don't want to give them a chance.

Its the fact that we built a trust circle over the years. Same girls since mini cheerios in middle school. Same girls from gymnastics classes since the age of 5. That's just pure trust. And dedication. I know I can count on them.

With my life even. Imagine having some random bitch coming in causing problems. And tainting all those years of friendship and trust.

Its happened before. We allowed one back up cheerio. Even though we never need it. So we let someone else in.

Shit went down. There were fights. Destroyed friendships. It was our worst cheer year yet.

The sophomore incident. 

That's what the rest of the school calls it.

But in the end. That bitch came out at the bottom. Both figuratively and literally.

I placed her at the bottom of the pyramid. I knew she would crash and burn. And the rest of us would be fine cause we trained. She crumbled like a cookie. Then we had a friendly talk where I told her to kindly fuck off.

Long story short. She moved schools. And my girls and I came out on top and closer then ever. Like we always will.

I have to admit the way I handled the situation was probs the bitchiest thing I ever done.

But it had to be done.

I walk through the doors of the school in my cheer uniform and I meet up with my girls Stacey and Brittney.

Stacey is my third in hand. She is the flyer in the squad. Not only that she does the craziest stunts. She is one of my best friends and I can count on her with anything.

Brittany is my second in command. She is the definition of Strength in the squad. She is the bottom of the pyramid because she is the only other one strong enough. She is to my right and Emma is to my left. We the strongest in the squad. Britt can also do all the flips and splits.

"Hey Esme" they both said in unison.
"Hey Brit ,Stace. How are my two bitches today?"
"Ready to bitch." Answered Brit.
"Guys can you not swear." I heard Emma say from behind us.

"Sorry Em ,we know you hate swearing." Answered Stace.
Us four were inseparable ,but those two are besties and Brit and I are besties.

Brit is my other half. Sort of.

"Anyway ,as I was saying. There's a new girl." Said Britt
"Brit ,there's obviously going to be new-" I started but Em cut me off.
"That's not what she meant."she said.

"Well what di-" I was cut off by Stace.
"You see none of the freshmen are going to tryout this year ,cause they know we a well oiled machine ,plus they heard about the "incident" so anyway-" she was cut off by Brit.

"There's a chick named Allison Bishop in our grade who just joined and she wants to join -" Brit was cut off by Emma.

"She has been doing gymnastics since she was 4 and she was the captain of her old squad."

Hold up this Alison chick gonna try and steal my position?

By now the whole squad was gathered around ,gossiping and panicking.

Which made no sense cause Britt ,Stace ,Em and I decide who gets in and the whole squad decides captain. And as far as i am concerned no one would vote against me.

I finally spoke up. "Hey GUYS! Relax would yah? She first has to impress us and don't worry nothing will ever happen to us. This squad. Us. This is it for us. And no one can change that. Got it."

We were all in our cheer uinform when this skinny ass chick with blonde hair like Clisee from Game of thrones walks up to us. She has crystal blue eyes and a face that screams bitch.

"Whose this bitch?" Asked Brit. The question we were all thinking.

"What Brit ,Em ,Stace and Esme you don't remember me? Don't any of you?"

And that's when we all gasped at the exact same time. Not even joking. To which she just bitterly laughed at.

You see this was not Alison Bishop. This was Cheryl Alison Cooper. Also known us the fifth member of my little group.

You see the five of us were inseparable. We practically grew up together. Our moms were also a squad of five. Well six. But anyway...all si-five of us grew up together. We went to gymnastics together everything. Until Cheryl had to move away. We were all so devastated. But then we found out she slept with all our crushes and that she talked trash about us behind our backs. When we found this out she had already been gone for a month. We video chatted her like we did every night. See we wanted to keep in touch so we texted and called. And she did the same.

We confronted her and she lied to our faces. While having the audacity to cry. We were also crying. We all felt so betrayed by our sister. Cause we were all like sisters.
It took us a full year to get over it. We would cry and eat and cry and eat and sleep. It felt like a harsh break up.
Our moms finally got us over it. We never told them the truth though. They still think it was about guys. Our squad helped us out of it too. She was a valued member of our squad. And Friendship.

She was also a flyer we had two. Sophomore year. The only year we added a new member.

Her name was Katie Sanders. She was actually the one who told us Cher did all those things. At first we didn't believe her but she gave us specific situations that added up.

It looked like Em ,Brit and Stace were recalling the memories too because they went from shocked to hurt to pissed in a second.

Katie just looks scared. Mmmh why was she scared?

"What the fuck do you want?" Asked Em. And trust me the swear word wasn't the shocking part. It was the tone she used.

"Finally dyed your hair blond huh?" Asked Stace. Cher was an originally firey red head.

"I see you finally went brunette with blue streaks." Said cher in return.

Now all five of us were just staring at each other. We all look like we ready to burst into tears.

"Girls can you leave us alone please?" I asked.

"Accept Katie." Said Cher with a glare sent towards Katie.
Just as she said that. Brian Jackson -Brit's crush and now fuck buddie who says they don't have feelings for each other which is utter bullshit ,Steve Crane -Em's crush and now fling , Dave Davis -Stace's crush and now boyfriend. (I know ? What were his parents thinking?) And Scott Delgado(my crush and guy best friend or ex guy best friend or I don't know its complicated) came waltzing in.

"Now before we finish this much needed reunion after a year. Let's clear up some things. Katie is a bitch." Cheryl started.

Well this is gonna be a fun day.

Katie started talking. "Now hold on are we really going to let this bi-" she got cut off my Davis.

"Shut up you sick hoe!" All the guys looked pissed.
Katie visibly flinched.

"Okay can someone explain what the hell is going on?" Asked Em.

"You see Katie over here wanted to be apart of the squad. But she knew she couldn't make it unless someone was removed from the squad. And my mom worked for her mom so she-" I cut her off.

"Got your mom demoted and moved to the New York firm so that you would move."

Cheryl nodded. "You were always the smart one Vee , but that wasn't enough for her you see. She had to ruin my friendship with you guys because she also wanted that spot so she-" at this point we all gasped. And Britt finished the sentence this time.

"Let us believe you betrayed our trust. Which is something you would never do."

Cheryl nodded once again. At this point all five of us had tears in our eyes ,that we refused to release.

Katie was straight up crying.

"But she didn't quite complete her task did she? Because well she ain't so tight with you guys is she?" Said Cher

Stace spoke up next.
"No b-because we never could face the fact of having someone in your place."

Emma then spoke. "you are irreplaceable Cheryl."

"We missed you." Said Brit.
"A lot." I said.

By now we were all crying as well.

"But what about the g-" I started but was cut off by Steve.

"She lied. We never did anything with her. Infact none of us even found her attractive."

Then Brian started. "You guys all looked devastated for a whole year it was sad to watch. But so was Cher ,so us guys decided to hit her up since the crushes we're mutual."

Then Scott finally cut in. " she wouldn't answer our calls...until the end of last year she hit us up because she wanted answers and she told us she was moving back into town." Scott and I made eye contact. He kept this from me? Why?

Cher spoke once again ,after looking at me in the eye." I asked the guys not to say anything so we met at Jacksons and spoke about what I heard ,we decided it was complete bullshit and planned today."

Davis spoke again. "Cause you see revealing her evilness wasn't our only plan."

Then Steve cut in. " Cause she kinda ruined what we all had for a whole year and we had no idea."

Then Brian cut in. "Not to mention ,ruined Cher's mom and your best friendship with her."

And now Scott spoke. "And at what cost really? She doesn't even have an important spot in the squad. Our scores have never been lower even though we still win with lower scores. " then a voice I haven't heard in a while bud in and my eyes widen and so did Scott's , I am guessing its been a while for him too. Man I missed that voice. And by the looks of it so did The rest of the girls.

"I mean she didn't even make it into the best friendship group. So she failed really." Said Athena. My best friend. Or ex or I don't know its complicated. She is my person.

Cheryl gave me a smile. She planned this. She is too sweet. Clearly all the girls missed her too cause they all had smiles on their faces and more tears in their eyes. Scott seems to be hiding them.

Cheryl spoke once again. "So I asked Athena here to dig up some dirt to make sure what we doing is right. And we got Katie's mom promoted to DC , you guys are moving soon."

Steve then spoke. "We were too nice to demote."

Athena once again spoke." You got that right."

I turned to Katie. "Hand in your uniform you make me sick."

Katie tried to talk but we all literally said "Don't try". And all the guys said "No."

Then all the guys left. But Scott lingered at first. And all three of us made eye contact. I felt pained.

Katie went to the bathroom to change and take off her uniform we went with her to make sure the deed is done.

Athena was still with us.
All six of us looked at each other and started crying. We hugged each other and started muttering how much we missed each other.

Em began. "God ,Cher I am so sorry , we all are." Cher and Em used to me best friends. And Stace and Brit. And well you know the rest.

We all nodded our heads.
Brit then spoke. " I feel like such a bitch."

Stace said. "Yeah but aren't we tho?"

I nodded my head. "We abandoned our best friend for bullshit." We All knew I wasn't just talking about Cheryl.

Cheryl glanced at Athena who had sad eyes plastered to the floor. "Yeah well I forgive you. What are best friends for. I mean we don't hold grudges and never would?" Once again double meaning.

Emma then began. "Especially if it isn't even their fault." Double meaning.

Stace. "We will always be there for each other." Stace's subtle way of hinting to Athena.

Brit then spoke. "Always and forever." The Michaelson's anyone.

Then I spoke. "I mean we would miss that person way too much to hold a grudge on some shit she didn't even do."

By now we were all looking at Athena.

The bitch came out and gave her uniform and ran out crying. Such a cunt.

Cheryl then began. "Come on Kat." Then stace.
"We miss you Kat." Then Em.
"We missing a piece and its driving us crazy." Then Brit spoke. "Nothing even happened. You worried to quickly."

Then I spoke with tears balling out of my already puffy eyes. God we all look so puffy. "Kat...We miss you. I miss you. You are my best friend. Nothing bad will happen to us. To me. To anyone I said implying to Scott we are perfectly safe i-i promise. Come back please come back to us." Everyone knew this pains me the most.

Athena finally looked up. "Bullshit. Its all Bullshit and you know it Vee. She is implying to that one fateful day. After that day she cut us off.. I will not place any of you in the position to be hurt. Got it?" She said in a voice that meant no time for arguments.

But Kat knows I ain't gonna back down. And so did the rest of the girls. They all loomed scared ,yet happy for one of our arguments cause we normally have fake ones and they funny.

"At what cost Kat? Mmmh? You to fight this alone?? Its been what ? Sophomore year that you cut us off? To protect us? But who protects you Kat? Huh who protects you? Because you cut off Scott as well. And now you got a new squad , who let's be honest can't compare to the shit we all used to do. I mean this highschool ain't see shit yet! You know it. I know it. We all know it! And not to mention your new group clearly don't know shit about you. And you can't deny it!" I practically screamed with tears in my eyes.

Kat then backed up and said. "I don't need protection Vee. And this is for the best. They don't know shit. I don't care enough to cut them out of my life. And yeah the highschool ain't see shit yet. Maybe they will one day. But for now this is what's best. I miss you all so much and love you guys. But I gotta let you guys go to protect you. Don't worry about me. I will be fine." She then turned and left.

I fell the ground and cried.

Then Em asked the question we were all wondering. "Cher? How'd you get Athena to talk to you?"

"Well she didn't mind reconnecting since I was moving. And she noticed all y'all crying , so I told her and she started investigating and helping me out. She discovered the truth. Tipped the guys off and started planning. When she found out I was moving back she said she would have to cut me off again but that she loved talking to me. "

Then Brit asked."you spoke to Kat the whole year?"

Cher smiled. "Yeah it was nice."

Em then spoke. "God I miss her."

And then it hit me. And yeah the highschool ain't see shit yet. Maybe they will one day. But for now this is what's best. Did she mean?

Holy shit. She might come back to us!

"Guys Kat's coming back."

They all glanced at each other then Stace asked "what you mean babe?" In a concerned tone. Yep they thought I was crazy.

"Think back to what she said." And it clicked in all their heads. And they all smiled.

Brit then spoke. "Our Kat's coming back."

And we were all happy after that.
