"I can see where this place got its name." Rhelms commented, looking around as if he was some sort of tourist.
The place was a vast greenfield with a large river connected to an estuary on the far side.
"You have never been here before?" I asked him while listening to owls hooting from the forest behind us. It actually kinda spooked me out, but I decided to hide it and show them I'm a brave cat... girl.
"I've memorized the locations and the names, but I haven't been to most of them." Rhelms stared at the river far ahead. I replied with an "Oh." and followed Akso, who was far ahead, carrying the injured little boy on his two arms.
I feel so sorry for him. Lance was just a child! He nearly got killed because of us, and I feel responsible for every single bruise he got from that greifer guard.
Akso laid by the river side and gently laid the boy on the grass. As soon as I caught up with them, I sat down next to the sleeping child quietly.
"Ugh...." Lance began to groan in his sleep. With just a few kicks from that man, Lance looked like he was tortured. Poor child. He looked like he was only ten.
"Mmmom..." Lance continued to groan in a very low voice.
"Mom?" Rhelms repeated."Why would he think of his mom?"
Akso stared deeply at the boy, destruction reflecting in his eyes. I'm having the feeling I won't like what I'll hear.
"He was a baby back then." Akso spoke in a so low voice I barely heard it.
"I don't want to tell him, but..." His voice trailed off. Marek and I leaned closer, waiting for an answer to our question, 'What didn't you want to tell him?'
"He's a prince."
"A prince?!" Rhelms and I exclaimed.
"Shhhh! Be quiet!" He whispered harshly.
"Sorry." I mumbled.
"He is the lost son of the great Queen Cornelia and King Zeree."
"Great? Odd. How come I haven't heard of him?" I stared at the other side of the river where zombies were wandering around mindlessly.
"They are rulers from a far away server." Akso answered, rubbing the boy in the head gently.
"I'm sitting next to a prince, then. I'm homored." Rhelms quietly spoke as he munched on grass he plucked from the ground. Gross.
"So why did you take him away?" I stared at Lance, muttering a few words about the greifers in his sleep.
"The greifers seized the server. They destroyed anything they saw innocent and collapsed every single kingdom property. Cruel, huh?" He stared at his own reflection across the flowing river.
"I had been a victim myself, to these... wither infected soldiers. Instead of greifing, they were forced to..."
I stared at him in confusion. Did I hear right? Wither? He's kidding, right?
"Wither?" I asked out of the blue, interrupting him in the middle of his story. Akso stopped staring at himself and glanced at me and Rhelms, still unsure whether we heard right. Wither? Impossible...
"Yes." He calmly replied."Haven't you heard?"
I glanced at Rhelms, who was still shocked from the fact he heard the word 'wither'-- and he that he didn't have hearing problems.
"Do you know any of this?" I asked him seriously. He stared at me in confusion, still, and shook his head.
"How would I know? I'm just a goat following orders in an attempt to prolong his brother's life!"
"Then how did you know?" I turned my head to face Akso, who was still looking at Rhelms, raising his brow as if he didn't trust him.
"Well I was about to say until 'SOMEONE' interrupted me." He stared at my direction. I shyly replied an "Oops."
"I had secretly passed through the greifer's server portals when I came across a large kingdom-- or perhaps, what was left of it."
"I traveled quietly through the ruins because greifers were patrolling the place. When I accidentally came across the castle, I heard a crying noise. A baby."
"I picked him up and took care of him." We all stared at Lance, who was soundly asleep.
"Just as I was about to leave, I heard a deep growling voice. A bear's."
"It was that Undelle. And he was talking to his shadow."
Rhelms and I exchanged glances.
"He said to his shadow that he will allow it to merge with him as long as he can have the powers from hell itself."
"The nether..." Rhelms muttered.
"Yes, you're right. They agreed, and his eyes turned black, his pupils turning red... and before you knew it, He threw a wither skull at my direction. I dodged of course, and went away as far as possible let from him."
Rhelms stared at him in shock."Then what happened?"
"The bear hit me on my arm." He said."I was able to get back, alive, and when I checked my arm for any injuries..." looked away from us while pulling his left arm's black sleeve up."... This is what happened."
The both of us looked at him in horror. It was a small dark patch of dead skin filled with small lumpy things... Like pimples. Gross.
"What the heck is that?!" I exclaimed loudly by accident.
"Shh!" They glared harshly at me as Lance began to turn on his sleep, the feeling of discomfort on his face. Oops, my bad.
"Wither." He calmly replied as he pulled back his sleeve.
"Huh. I expected the wither to turn people black and turn them into mindless zombies, but this looks like it came from a plague." Rhelms stared at Akso's now covered arm.
"Now, please, please, I beg you-- never tell Lance anything I told you just know." He pleaded, looking at me. I cocked my head to the side."But how come?"
"When Undelle hit my arm, the magic somehow removed Lance's memory as a child. "
"But why won't you tell him."
"What? Tell him he's a prince of a destroyed server? His parents dead? My arm? No, I don't want him to worry or think about me and his past. He's been through a lot ever since I brought him here with me and he's been lately worried about himself, thinking if he would ever live to see another day." He replied sadly."If he worried about me, what would happen then? He could end up killing himself! You wouldn't want that to happen to your two friends, right? Let them despair, let them worry about you when if there's no hope--"
"We get your point, Akso. You don't want him to know. We don't want him to know too, and we won't let that happen." Rhelms patted him on the back.
Akso looked at him, smiling."Thanks. That would mean so much."
"But why did he have to suffer a lot, like you said?" I asked.
"Rebels."
"Rebels?" Rhelms repeated.
"Yeah, what do you mean?
"Rebels against the greifers." He stared at his reflection again."Someone who would spark the revolution against the wither."
"Why?" I asked curiously. He smiled at me.
"In case he did know, I want to make sure the brats are gone, and although I might have a bit of explaining to do, but that's another time."
I glared at him."So he got himself hurt to make sure he won't get angry at you?"
"That's only a small part of my true purpose." He replied."I want to see those peices of vermin crushed. After what they had done to my server-- his family, I won't let them get away with this with all their teeth and limbs." He growled, his fists clenching together.
"The boy could be living lavishly, in luxury... Happily, with a title and his own land, but no... I had forced him to hold back the greifers for me while I secretly snuck up behind me, or when I'm rescuing city rebels in danger." He stared at the sleeping boy."Sorry, kiddo."
I stared at him in awe. He was angry, yet he was happy. Angry that Lance was hurt, happy because he found us, the people who 'sparked the revolution'.
I won't let them get way with this with all their teeth and limbs. The words repeated inside my mind. He won't let them get away with their teeth? Gruesome and disgusting, but what else can I say? At least I know he will be defeating--and... pulling teeth out-- for the sake of his 'child.' I find this sweet.
"I found the people we've been looking for, Lance." He smiled at him. Rhelms and I smiled at Lance as well.
"We've found some of the Golem Knights."
Then Rhelms and I exchanged glances in shock."What?"
