Second thoughts

"So, let me summarize what I learned. You are a dog and you're a relative of a cat girl that happens to be with a goat far away because you're trying to stop an evil bear from destroying life in this place, am I right?" Zzolven asked. I nodded.

"So why are we running again?"

"We are getting supplies in our home to try and reunite with Cat and Rhelms."

"That doesn't answer my question."

"WE need to hurry!" I said loudly as I began running faster, followed by Happy and Harpy, who were panting. Zzolven sighed and ran after me. We can't stop now! We're almost there!

----------------------

After a few minutes of running, we stopped. We were tired, yet we were so close. Just a hundred blocks away was the house, but our legs couldn't take it anymore. We just sat there, huffing. We ate some food to regain some hunger, and agreed to rest for at least a few minutes.

"Wow. What a life you've got." He said.

I patted Harpy's head."You don't know the half of it."

He sat there, wondering, trying to figure out what happened to me. After a few seconds, he gave up and sat there quietly.

"I think this is enough rest." I said as I stood up, got a splash potion of swiftness and threw it at us.

"There we go." I said, running ahead."Come catch me, grandpa!" I teased. He glowered at me and ran after me, followed by my two dogs who got the hint we were racing.

-------------------------

"I must say, I'm impressed with the large interior." Zzolven said, amazed with the large living room. I grinned and went upstairs."Home sweet home!" I said loudly as voice echoed through the empty hallways.

"So what now, Doggy?" Zzolven said. I glared at him and pointed at the room under the staircase.

"Storage room. Take all weapons necessary. If you need any potions or--"

"Have anything redstone  and trap related?"

I stopped talking. Redstone? Traps? That could only mean one thing...

"Does that mean... you..."

"You what?"

"You... can make a refrigerator here? We've tried that a week ago, and believe me, it ended up burning the kitchen." I said, remembering about that incident. Don't get me started on that story.

"Uhh... I guess..." He replied.

"The top most chest in the far left corner of the room." I said as I entered my room.

To be honest, I wonder if going after Cat and Rhelms is more important than leaving an angry bear headed to possibly the last place he'll ever see.

I slowly closed my eyes as I sat down behind the door. I hugged my knees to form a ball and slowly rocked myself back and forth.

Remembering Marek reminded me of the potion. Was that for real? Was that just my biggest fear fused to make me stronger? I don't know. I don't want to know. I just cradled myself on the same spot on the floor, thinking about what was more important.

"Where should I go?" I asked myself quietly as I pulled out a healing potion, staring at the shiny crimson liquid inside the glass bottle. Cat and Rhelms can take care of themselves. All they need to do is blow up towers, that's all. So will my assistance be of help to them? Maybe a little, but Marek... he's on his own, angrily trotting on MY horse, that cousin of his stuck to his face.

I want to stay with him. He's been through a lot. Loosing your own family, loosing every single friend you had, being locked up by people he worked for... he's just not accepting the fact it's in the past. He could be still thinking that it just happened.

I sighed and looked in front of me. It was just Happy. My very first dog. She was my personal companion. She always was. We sat together, catching sticks in our mouth, then this happened. Sad, huh?

The dog looked at me with pity, whimpering, nudging me, trying to cheer me up. I know she isn't the original Happy, because my first dog disappeared as we fell down here.

"Should I help him?" I asked as I looked at the table where Marek and I planned our route. I don't want to kill. Well I guess I do kill mobs, but they are mindless! They don't care what they hit as long as it's dead.

Marek has been on a harsh journey. But his path was too harsh he saw how evil this world is. I guess that's what drove him mad.

I stared at Happy. She cocked her head to the side, a gesture telling me she doesn't understand what is happening. I sighed and patted her head.

"Yeah, I think we should." I said, standing up.

I don't know what made me want to help him. It's just a weird feeling that tells me to do this though I know I'll regret it. Well, I suppose I can't complain. It's me telling me to do something, and it's hard to disobey your instincts.

I opened my chest and dumped all my stuff in, thinking of what I should bring.

"Potion of invisibility comes in handy. Ooh! Healing should work as well. Harming should be perfect for mobs, and I think slowness is good just in case were being chased..."

Well I guess dumping stuff in my chest then putting it all back in my bag was a complete waste of time, but at least I knew what I was bringing.

Just as I finished packing up my tools and weapons, Zzolven came in, carrying a very heavy bag.

"Okay! So HapPy, I've packed up all possible things we will need for a hundred kilometer trip to Undelle ' castle and--"

"Change of plans! We are heading back to Marek, who is currently headed straight for a hidden temple."

"Wow. And I had to pack a lot of food for the trip. Well, I guess I could take off a bit of steak..."

"Good. Now if you need me, I'll be looking inside the storage for a horse."

"But there were no horses there."

"Remember. Marek was a thief before. He has got to have a horse egg somewhere."

"I guess."

I headed out of the room, followed by Harpy and Happy, who were smiling in excitement, maybe because they want to wander around again. I just shrugged at them and headed for the storage room.
