Chapter 22

Another Adventure?

"We're home!" I said as I hopped off my horse, tying it's lead to a fence post I placed down. It was nightime, and we were both tired. To be honest, I'm the only one tired. Marek dozed off on my aching tail for almost the whole day. And I almost bumped to a tree.

"Have you ever wondered what the former greifers wanted from me?" Marek asked me as he hopped off, followed by my dogs. I shrugged."Maybe DNA for a super powerful creation of theirs?" I said.

"Maybe they want something valuable. Like the--!" Marek said but was cut off by his thought. I was wondering what they needed from him until I realized what it was.

"The journal entries." We said together.

"We need to hide it." Marek ran for the door but was hit backwards by a piston.

"Oops! I forgot to deactivate the security system." I said as I plucked a redstone torch from it's place.

As I did so, We heard pistons from below move down, which meant the wall went down. As soon as I gave Marek the sign to get inside, he and my dogs dashed through the door, not even saying 'thanks'.

I went inside to see Marek dash on the stairs. I cocked my head to the side and pressed a lever which turned on the lights.

As I got in my room, I was shocked to see Marek digging through my stuff while my dogs were sleeping under my bed.

"Marek, if you're looking for my embarrassing puppy pictures, sorry, they got despaired long long time ago--"

"I'm not looking for those, HapPy. I need the papers."

I gave Marek the curious look and he sighed.

"Maybe we can use the entries to try and figure out where the killers are try to go to." Marek said. I gave him another curious look. He glared at me."We will use a map to try and peice out some parts of the entry to the map." He explained.

"Brilliant plan." I said."But if the greifers have the other papers, why weren't they smart enough to do this as well?"

"They don't have the papers. They think we have it all hoarded." Marek answered my question.

"So that means, someone gave them a hint about this legendary weapons and armour stuff." I said.

"Correct." Marek said as he dug deeper into my chest.

"Maybe I'll get it." I suggested."You look for a map."

He nodded and went out my room. Wow. He must be really serious right about now. If these greifers get their hands on that armour and weapons, we are all doomed.

A few moments later, Marek returned, holding a large rolled map as soon as I finally fished out the entries.

"Marek, what are these map locations doing in you're cousin's entries?" I asked. Marek coughed as he unrolled the map on my desk."She was the daughter of a treasure hunter, my uncle." He replied, crinkling his nose.

"My uncle hid a hidden map behind his journal before giving it to her." He said, scattering the entries in an attempt to match one.

"He hoped she would find it and use it for the greater good... but..." The polar bear's voice trailed off.

Marek and I matched each entry to the map, and after a few hours, we finished.

"It seems the entries were clues." I said as I looked at our work.

Marek nodded in agreement.

The entries we placed had broken lines sometimes connected to another entry but etimes it doesn't. I looked at our work satisfyingly and yawned. Darn, I forgot I was sleepy. With Marek nagging me about these entries I can't afford to sleep. My eyes are half ed closed and I don't think I can stay afford wake for long.

"Marek, I need to rest." I told him as I turned around, reaching for my bed.

"But the clues! We need to finish--"

"Marek. I am very tired after six hours of nonstop riding that horse. My butt hurts from all that sitting. Plus, I helped you with that the whole night! So add eight more hours to that. And I'm hungry!" I wailed.

Marek cocked his head."But the clock said 7:30!" Marek said.

"Marek, it's 7:30 am." I pointed to my window.

"I am so tired, Marek." I said as I laid on my bed and began dozing off.

"Just wake up immediately." Marek told me-- at least, maybe he said it? I'm not quite sure. I'm too sleepy to care.

-------------------------

"Hey Haps," Marek said, shaking my shoulder."Wake up, I found the location."

I opened my eyes and looked at my window. Sunset. Enough sleep. Good.

"What is it?" I asked him as I went over to see my table messy.

"Whoa. What happened to my table?" I asked him sternly. Marek denied my question."Tell you later. For now, I need to show you something." He dragged me closer to the table.

"All journal entries will from a letter X shape with these broken lines." He said, pointing at the map. I stared at it briefly before he pulled me to the other side of my desk.

"So while you were asleep, I did a little tracing with a quill and our very tiny hints." He showed my a big map with a large red X covering it almost entirely.

"With a big X like that, I calculated the blocks there and realized the big X has A middle block." Marek pointed to the middle of the X.

"I know I'm not good at the geography of the world but isn't that where a raven and temple reside?" I asked him. He nodded.

"If we can get there before the greifers, we can use these things to destroy them once and for all!" Marek said.

"But Rhelms and Cat need to know about this!" I protested when I realized he was packing his backpack.

"Cat and Rhelms will be doing us a favor by distracting and killing the griefers." Marek said as he got my backpack and placed a lot of my potions and tools with food in it.

"Marek, we should rest for atleast a shortwhile." I suggested.

"The greifers don't rest."

"That's because they're alot. Plus, you could really use some rest. I told him.

"Fine." He sighed."But we are leaving early in the morning!"

Even though he didn't see me, I did a thumbs up while chewing on an apple.
