Chapter 15

Interrogation

"Uh... what are we doing here?" Marek looked around. There was nothing but him sitting on a chair and I pacing back and forth in the basement I created. Nothing was pretty much in there. Just a wooden chair and a small table. Above us was a little bulb that illuminated light above the two of us.

"Uh... HapPy, I'm confused." Marek said.

"So am I."

I pulled out the peices of paper Cat and I read and slide it across the table for him to reach.

"Marek, things are getting real weird since you came. No offense." I said as he took an entry from the pile."Marek, ever since we found you, we found those weird papers scattered around the jungle." I told him."I know it's not a coincidence. They didn't just appear out in the floor when Cat saw you. Well, maybe, but it's least likely."

Marek didn't listen to me. He read the entry silently. He was serious. Dead serious. I sensed it. No doubt. He knew these peices of paper.

After skimming through the first one, he placed it down on the other side, away from the pile, and pulled out another and began reading.

I felt him worry. He felt like sweating in the inside. Gross, but I sensed his feeling. He knew it, which means Cat and I might know why those people were after us. Thank Notch.

Marek felt like erupting I'm confusion."These..." He murmured as he placed down the paper on the second pile."These were hers!" Marek exclaimed."What are they doing here? Shouldn't you be a page in her journal? No... No way! The map! How could you seperate?!" Marek stood up and held me tightly on the shoulders, looking at me seriously. I felt curious. What did he mean by the papers are 'hers?'

"HapPy..." Marek was breathing hard. No, not because he was tired, but because he was panicking.

"HapPy... where are the others?" He asked me. I lowered his hand in confusion.

"There are no others, Marek." I told him."It's only those seven peices."

Suddenly, the iron door on the other side of the room opened up.

"Correction. I got three more from the fish." Cat announced as she gently shoved Marek away from me."Apparently, he dropped those before falling down to the river."

Marek quickly snatched the papers from cats hands and read it as he slowly walked away from us. I sensed him worry. He was close to the borderline of exploding due to worrying too much. This has to have some sort of significance to his family.

Marek quickly placed the papers on the table drew out an iron sword outta nowhere. SHEESH!

Marek pointed the sword a block away from Cat. I drew out a sword and Cat held on to the handle of her sword, awaiting sudden movements.

"Where?" He asked. Cat raised a brow. I inched closer with my sword, weary of sudden movements too.

"Where?!" Marek asked angrily. Cat didn't bulge. To be fair, she couldn't move or speak suddenly because she was to cautious of sudden movements, and the fact that she was still trying to analyze Marek's 'specific' question.

I have to say, things are happening so fast! We were abandoned, then the next thing we know is that a hundred creepers blew up a crater in a jungle, then we found a polar bear in a jungle, then Cat cuts off a hand of a gang leader (?), then this! Ugh, just the thought of it gave me a headache.

But I still question one thing- what is the importance of these papers to Marek? Are they that important that he just waves a sword at someone for a stupid and SPECIFIC question? Maybe?

"I don't understand." Cat took a step back."What do you mean 'where'?"

"Where did you get these?" Marek asked harshly. Very important. That's how important this peices of paper are to him. Very important.

Cat didn't answer back harshly. She was calm, but very careful.

"At a crater. Near where I found you." She replied.

"Crater? Cra--" Marek suddenly froze. His eyes were wide open. I sensed dread in his veins. He suddenly grabbed Cat by the shoulders and pinned her to the wall.

"WHERE IS CRYLLA?" He shreicked! I got shocked by his scream that I felt my soul try to run away!

I kept it together, though. I carefully walked closer to Marek and Cat.

"WHERE IS SHE?!" Marek screamed at Cat's ears.

That did it, though. Cat is really annoyed."I... DO... NOT... KNOW!" Cat answered back angrily as she kicked Marek on the stomach, shoving him away by a few feet.

"We're trying to help you, so don't go violent on us!" Cat said, pulling out an iron sword from her inventory. I quickly followed her lead and posed defensively.

"I NEED ANSWERS, NOR YOUR PETTY HELP!" Marek shreiked as he stood up and pounced on me with his bear teeth.

Oh no. I may be a dog, and he may be a polar bear, but as a dog, I HAVE MY PRIDE OF PROTECTING PEOPLE I KNOW. I won't go down easily to a white furball!

With my animal instinct kicking in, I quickly did an uppercut, smacking the incoming polar bear on his snout, making him loose his momentum, squishing me.

Well, to be fair, this was alot better than being squished as well as loosing you face, so I guess this isn't THAT bad.

Marek raised his body up and growled at me and tried to scratch me when a gigantic hammer came out of nowhere and smacked Marek to the wall on the far right.

I turned to Cat in confusion."Found this at the crater." She said."Pretty neat, huh?

Marek wasn't done, still. He stood up, holding two iron swords.

"As a former greifer, I was thought to handle multiple enemies st the same time, you idiots!" Marek grinned.

"We are not your enemies!" Cat retorted as she held out a shield and blocked Marek's dual blow.

Taking the opportunity, I lunged for Marek and dealt a large blow on his right cheek, knocking him off of Cat's shield.

"I don't know what's gotten into you but," Cat told the polar bear, who laid injured on the smoothstone floor."But please, don't push us away."

"You don't know how it feels to loose someone." Marek said.

As Marek said those words, I felt it. No, I wasn't affected by their conversation, no.

W-w-we d-don't-t? I felt it whisper in me.

My anger was forming up. I need to do something about this, but what?

I clenched my paws tightly and ignored it. Maybe it will go away. Maybe, atleast.

I tried to forget it and continued on with the situation at hand.

"You... you did?" He asked. Cat didn't say anything and nodded. Huh. I missed Cat's explanation about us getting trap - abandoned...

"The three of us here? We all felt the same thing. That's why we want to help. We want you to reach something we couldn't do- revenge "

"?"

"You can fight back for what you had lost."

"Can't you?"

"We can never return to the overworld, and we can never do anything to even talk to our masters, who had brought us here." Cat smiled sadly.

"I, see." Marek stood up."But why?" He asked her."Why would you still help me?"

"Friends." Cat simply answered."We're friends, aren't we?"

Marek froze for a bit. He must've not heard that for a while, after all, he was imprisoned for a very long time by his own 'friends', so I guess he was a little weary of others.

While Marek and Cat were talking, I silently walked over to the ten peices of paper. Marek's cousin wrote those, I now know, but what's the importance of these papers? Why was it so important those evil greiferbutts butts wanted it?

"Crylla kept the journals because they lead to a place holding powerful weapons and armour." Marek explained as he and Cat stood next to me."They were so powerful that no one else must obtain them."

"How can writings that talk out being imprisoned lead to powerful artifacts? And how did your cousin find this 'sacred place'?" Cat asked.

"My uncle was a representative of the polar bears to a multiserver exploration guild." Marek said. Multiserver? Is he for real? Intriguing...

"But as he was travelling the jungle here to explore for the guild, he accidentally found the hidden tower where the armour and weapons reside."

"Though he wanted to wear the armour, he felt the radiation of ancient magic looming at the air, so he decided to leave it be."

"The whole server was mapped by my uncle twice, one ordinary map to be submitted to the guild, another in his journal, which contains the map to the temple."

"No wonder the greifers wanted your cousin's journal." Cat said out loud."But during the explosion, the whole book was destroyed. All I found were seven peices of paper."

"The papers were enchanted by magic." Marek said." He made sure that these papers were to be safe no matter what happens."

"That's all I can tell for now. I'm sorry." Marek said as he took the papers and left the room silently.

Cat stared at the door for a short while before tapping me on my shoulder.

"HapPy."

"Yeah?"

"Be a good pal to our friend and start mining items for our tools." Cat said as she handed me an iron pickaxe."Make sure you get alot. After all, we'll be the ones using it anyway."

I sighed and left the room. I didn't bother complaining. For a cat, she can smack hard, and possibly kill with her hands.

"Fine, I will." I called out as I left the room."Let me just get my torches..."
