sorry for not updating this for over a year-  sometimes my brain just forgets that I have some books and it's just like "oh yeah let's spam updates for this one book and forget this other one for a year"
so yeah- hope you enjoy this definitely needed update
also please keep in mind that Yellow Steve is the Nightmare Steve one so yeah

Yellow Steve just grins. "If you think that now, you haven't seen them back when they were younger and Rainbow Steve was new to the whole being alive thing." 

Purple Steve smiles. "I can tell, they seem like they're made for one another," he hums. 

Rainbow Steve and Blue Steve, on the other hand, weren't even paying attention to the others. They weren't even paying attention to what was going on around them, cause all they cared about was one another. "Slow down!" Blue Steve giggles. 

"You're just slow!" Rainbow snickers, continuing to run. He runs around, near where the other Steve's are, laughing. Blue Steve looked around after a moment, smiling when he sees a ton of familiar faces, as well as some new ones as well. He then picks up his pace again, soon catching up to Rainbow Steve. He tags the other, grinning. Rainbow Steve pouts. "Well, maybe you're not that slow."

"I can't believe I ever had the heart to try to break these two up," Yellow Steve sighs, smiling while watching the two. 

"At least you changed now," Purple Steve reasons, looking up at Yellow Steve. Yellow nods after a moment.

 "Still sucks that I ever thought that doing this was okay though," he sighs. "I'm glad they finally found each other again though. They definitely couldn't have lived on without one another." Purple Steve smiles gently, nodding. 

"I never saw what they were like before, but I'm sure that they were," Purple Steve hums. "Especially from what I've seen so far."

Blue Steve just snickers after he tagged Rainbow. He was happy with his victory, which leads him to running off so Rainbow Steve can't tag him again. Rainbow didn't pay attention to what anyone else said, having way too much fun with Blue Steve to even care. Sure, him and Sabre had tons of fun, but this is the most fun Rainbow Steve can ever remember having. 

After a minute, Rainbow Steve finds himself close enough to Blue Steve that he can almost reach him. Note, almost. So, Rainbow Steve decides to jump and tackle his friend. "Tag," he says, blushing brightly when he sees the position they're in. He's panting softly, seeing as he hasn't ran in a long time, as the last time he did was when he sacrificed himself for Sabre and Galaxy Steve. 

Blue Steve is blushing brightly, unable to form words. "I-I uh-" he manages to stutter out. Rainbow Steve quickly gets off. 

"S-Sorry!" he squeaks. "S-So uh, do you want to go see everybody else?" he asks.

Blue Steve, on the other hand, didn't know how to feel. He felt so close to Rainbow, close enough that if he moved moments ago, he would've kissed the other. He debates on telling the other about how he feels about him [Rainbow Steve], about the way that he's always felt. These feelings, being feelings of love. "I-In a minute," he manages to get out, still blushing. 

"Their lives were hard, thanks to me," Yellow Steve mumbles. "They were the happiest they could've been, though."

Purple Steve bites his lip. "Hey, it's not your fault," he says softly. "You shouldn't blame yourself. You were under Elemental Steve's control," he reasons gently.

"Part of me was still present," he sighs. "Part of me was letting myself be controlled. I wasn't fighting to be free. I just... watched it all happen.." He glances down, then goes back to watching Rainbow and Blue Steve, not meeting the other's gaze.

"Hey... it's okay... You made it free now, you're not being controlled now. You got enough strength to stop being controlled, that's what matters..." Purple Steve sighs as he realizes that Nightmare Steve isn't going to meet his gaze. 

"I didn't even break free on my own," Nightmare Steve huffs. "Sabre got to Elemental and in a last minute act of heroism, he sacrificed himself so the entirety of the Realm didn't get destroyed... I didn't have anyone to control me..." 

"But you're free now," Purple Steve reasons. "You now realize what you did wrong, and that what you did was wrong. Now, you're trying to work your way to gaining peoples trust again. I admire that." 

Nightmare Steve gives a weak laugh in response, looking back down at the ground. "Don't admire me, I suck." 

Rainbow Steve gives a concerned look to the other. "Is everything okay?" he asks softly, his face immediately going into a serious expression, concern replacing the mischief in his eyes.

Blue Steve gives a weak nod in response. "I uh, yeah, I'm fine," he says quietly. "I just..." he takes a deep breath. He looks up at Rainbow Steve, hating that he's worried. "C-Can I tell you something..?"

Rainbow keeps his gaze locked with the others, not looking away. "Of course, you know you can tell me anything." 

Blue Steve takes another deep breath, before finally finding the right words to say it. "I-I think-- No, I know - I like you, Rainbow Steve. As more than friends, and more than best friends..."
