After hearing my words,
Kame stared at me quizzically,
a strange expression upon his face.

I wonder...

Did I say something weird?

Feeling a bit self-conscious from his stare,
I was about to ask...

                  when he suddenly spoke up again.

                                         "I see."

                                  He finally said 

                  before his face changed back to its normal carefree smile.

There was a hint of mystery to his tone and words.

Sometimes, 

it made it hard to tell exactly what was on Kame's mind.

He could be a very enigmatic person when he wanted.

This fact became obvious to me the more we aged.
