Chapter 6
Marinette's POV
"I am Soul Changer!" she announced. "And I will change make Adrien change his mind so he is my soulmate!" Evil cackling filled the city.
"What has Adrien done?" I wondered. "And why does Soul Changer sound like Kagami?"
"That's because Soul Changer is Kagami!" squeaked Tikki. "She has been akumatised because of something Adrien did to her!"
"Tikki, spots on!" I transformed and climbed up the ladder to the balcony. I swung myself over to a black figure.
"I see you've joined the part, bugaboo," Chat winked at me.
"Bugaboo?" I raised my eyebrow but didn't complain.
"Come on! We have an Akuma to defeat!" Chat yelled, dodging a blast.
I ran after him. "What's her power?"
"To break up relationships," Chat told me.
"Do you have any idea what caused her to be akumatised?" I shouted as we were separated by another blast. "And why does she want to find Adrien so much?"
As Chat flushed a red, and opened his mouth to answer, Nadja Chamack rushed to the scene with her team.
"Don't be bemused, it's just the news. It seems like another person has been akumatised into Soul Changer. Many people think that it is Kagami, Adrien's assumed ex-girlfriend."
"W-what!" I almost choked. In the distracted moment, Soul Changer shot a blast at me.
"Milady!" Chat pushed me out of the way and somersaulted over the blast.
"Thanks kitty!" I smiled. "Do you know where the Akuma is?"
"The jewel encrusted brooch," Chat replied, pointing to a brooch decorated with jewels embedded in her clothing.
"Lucky charm!" I called my superpower and a rubber duck fell into my hands.
"Come to have a splash, bugaboo?" Chat asked, winking.
I inwardly scolded myself as a blush covered my cheeks. "N-n-no," I stuttered. "And there's no w-w-water around to s-splash in."
"Finally falling for me, right, milady?" Chat said in a sweet voice that made my heart melt.
"N-n-no!" I yelled. "I am n-not f-falling f-for you!"
"Your cheeks don't agree," Chat argued, a sparkle in his eyes that made my cheeks go redder.
"I'm a-a little b-bit h-hot," I stammered.
Chat rolled his eyes. "And look! While we're arguing, all these people have been cursed!" he accused. His green eyes softened. "But you do look rather adorable, milady."
"Stop it Chat! We have an Akuma to defeat!"
TIME SKIP
I flopped down on my bed. "Tikki, what else do?"
Tikki flew over to my desk and picked up a piece of paper. "You have babysitting with Manon for two hours, a project with Alya due on Wednesday, another project with Adrien due on Tuesday and a project with Lila due on Thursday next week."
"What day is it?" I asked.
"Monday," Tikki answered. "Honestly Marinette, you don't have anymore time for designing! No offence, but the skirt you designed for Gabriel Agreste's fashion competition was absolutely hideous! The dark purple and pale yellow clashes so badly!"
"Wow Tikki. Thanks a lot." I got up and snatched up the design for my skirt, examining the small details. "Maybe I should've tried brown and grey."
Tikki winced. "That won't look good, Marinette. I think you need to take a break. I can tell you're breaking on the inside."
"But I've been good-tempered!" I reasoned.
"No, don't argue with me," Tikki floated over to me, giving me a stern look. "You're pretending. Have a nap. I'll do your homework. I haven't waited in your bag for nothing."
"Thanks Tikki. You're the best kwami ever." I sighed peacefully, laying down on my bed and closing my eyes.
"I'm your only kwami," Tikki replied softly.
I smiled and drifted off to sleep. Another dream seemed to be waiting for me. Kwamis seemed to be holding tools that glowed pink as they hacked away at my bedroom wall. Tikki and Plagg were forming the tools with their hands and handing them to the others. I looked down at myself and saw every miraculous on me. The Miracle Box was wide open, and when the kwamis finished, they all slammed the box shut and started carrying it towards the wall. They went through it and after a few moments, Tikki came flying back out. Darkness enfolded my dream and I found myself slowly waking up.
It was pitch black. Tikki was playing with pink sparkles that she was producing from her hands. She was whisking it across my homework and answers seemed to be magically appearing.
"What are you doing?" I hissed, but not in a harsh tone.
My kwami jumped. Well, jumped while flying. "I wasn't bothered to use the pen and write every single answer," Tikki explained sheepishly. "I decided to use magic instead."
"Tikki, I received another dream." I went straight to the point. "It was about all the kwamis creating a magic hole and storing the Miracle Box inside of it. You and Plagg were creating magical tools."
A sigh seemed to come from Tikki. "It's a lot of work, Marinette. You can't be Ladybug for a whole day. And I need Plagg for this, meaning that his owner won't be able to transform for a whole day as well."
"But don't you remember all the other dreams I have had about Hawkmoth?" I argued. "Maybe it's advising us to hide the Miracle Box so he doesn't steal it!"
"I'll think about it," Tikki responded after a moment of silence. "It's just risky now that Hawkmoth is able to release more than one Akuma at a time."
"Can't Chat and I also have new powers?" I questioned. "Is there a way?"
"There are many ways to unlocking different powers," Tikki said. "The power that is the easiest to unlock at the moment is when you receive an ear piece that is invisible to everyone except you, and incoming messages that you normally get when you are Ladybug will automatically go to the ear piece if you are not transformed."
"That's cool. How do you activate it?" I rolled on to my side to face my kwami.
"You get the present I got you for your birthday and hold it in your right hand."
I obediently followed her instructions.
"Say activer l'oreillette," Tikki demonstrated.
"Activer l'oreillette," I said. Immediately, pink mist began seeping out from the pink jewel. It formed into a red ear piece and I reached out to touch it. My hand went straight through it.
"You need to wait for it to become solid." Tikki was glowing hot pink.
I waited and soon the earpiece seemed to have a shine. I picked it up and fastened it next to my earring. It started to beep.
"Looks like you have a message from Chat."
Thanks for reading! I'm not sure if that was too long.
