Chapter Twelve
It's been a hot minute since I updated this, huh? Whoops
~Rainbow Steve's POV~
After I got to the docks, I get in a small boat. It's big enough that I can lay down comfortably, but small enough that it will be hard to see and not too much of a loss for whoever I'm stealing it from. I paddle it away from the dock, waiting for the wind to catch and make me drift off.
Once in the boat, I just lay down, closing my eyes and going to sleep.
~Sabre's POV~
It's nearing sunrise when I finally wake up. I groan softly, stretching out and grabbing my bandanna again. I quickly tie it around my head so it's covering my eyes, then getting out of bed.
"He wouldn't be up this early," I mumble, unable to find Rainbow Steve in his bed. I head into the kitchen, not finding him there either. "Rainbow Steve?" I call out, careful not to wake up the others.
Silence.
I then go into my study room, sighing. That's when it catches my eye: a piece of paper with writing on it. Curiously, I walk over just to find fancy writing scribbled over the page.
I'm sorry for doing this, but I need to find who killed my brother. I'm sorry for getting in your way.
Sincerely, Rainbow Steve
I bite my lip, sighing. I have to go after him.
***
I've wandered around the entire city for nearly a half hour now, and have yet to find Rainbow Steve. The sun is up by now, and that's when I see it; a boat, just floating away from the docks. It's probably been floating for a while now, seeing as how far away it is, but I can make out somebody in it.
Someone, who looks just like Rainbow Steve.
It's faint, but I know him. Rainbow Steve is in that boat, I know it. So, I jump into a boat and start heading towards Rainbow Steve.
It doesn't take too long for me to finally catch up with Rainbow Steve's boat. He's asleep, that's clear. "Rainbow Steve, wake up," I say softly. A groan comes from the boat.
"Morning, sleepy head," I hum.
"I don't wanna wake up," he groans. "Wait, Sabre? How'd you find me?"
Let's just call it a lucky guess," I smile. "Come on, we're going to look for your brother together, okay?"
He hesitates, before nodding. "Alright. We should probably get one boat instead of two." I just nod, holding my hand out for him.
"Careful," I warn. He hesitantly nods, reaching out and grabbing my hand. I pull him into my boat, sighing.
"We're gonna be in here for a while, huh?" he asks, smiling. I nod.
"Yep."
~~~
I need to stop putting my layout of books on paper cause I always lose it- I understand that this chapter is all over the place, but I needed to get it somewhere else, so I could have more things to actually do. Sorry if it's a bit confusing, I have absolutely no inspiration to write, so I'm just forcing myself to write this.
