Know the Admins. Know the Rules. Survive.
While Teddy was distracted, Killer ran over and was about to attack. But as soon as she saw him bring out his blades, she screamed and held her hands up defensively.
"What the-?!" Killer exclaimed in surprise when a golden liquid shot out from her hands and stuck him to the wall.
"SO COOL!!!" Luffy yelled with stars in his eyes.
"Oops," Teddy laughed awkwardly, she hadn't meant to use her DF. But since she has very little control over it, it shouldn't even surprise her anymore.
"Well this is rather humiliating." Killer remarked as he struggled to break free.
Clapping hands were heard from behind them and as all three turned their attention towards the source of the noise, they found none other than the principal. A wide grin was plastered on his lips.
"What a strange power, miss Kumagai," He commented and glanced at Killer.
The thick golden yellow substance glistened and trapped him in place like a mosquito in amber. This made Doflamingo's grin widen as he reverted his attention back to Teddy.
"I look forward to seeing you survive detention." He chuckled evilly and walked off without another word.
Luffy frowned as he watched the ten footer leave. "I never really liked him," He said, before smiling at Teddy. "So! You'll be in detention too, huh?"
"H-Huh? Oh. Yeah..." She sighed, having remembered her bad luck.
Luffy gave her a pat on the back and smiled reassuringly, "Don't worry! You'll be fine!"
She smiled gratefully. Even though they just met, Luffy was a pretty nice guy.
"Hey, I'm still here, you know." Killer interrupted.
"Bah, you'll be fine!" Luffy laughed and grabbed Teddy's hand, pulling her away as the bell rang loudly.
"Let's go to detention together later!" He suggested to her before leaving for his seat.
Teddy watched silently as he sat down and started talking to Law cheerfully. He was a strange boy, she could tell. But there was something about that smile that she just couldn't ignore.
With a quiet sigh and a shrug, she went to her seat and waited for the teacher to come. She smiled when Leo pulled the seat in front of her and sat down. "You okay?" She asked concernedly. For a student she definitely seemed more mature than the rest of them.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Teddy replied with a nervous smile. "Just nervous about seeing that guy though."
Leo nodded in understanding. Eustass Kid was in the classroom right next to theirs, and he was glaring menacingly at them, since he can't do anything to them at the moment.
Teddy looked around and noticed that her classmates all seemed pretty diverse. However most of them seemed pretty crazy, which got her wondering how they divide up the students. Surely it wasn't by intelligence since Law and Leo were here with her.
"Hey, Leo, how does the school sort out the students?" She inquired the brunette with curious eyes. "I don't remember taking an entrance exam. You and Law seem to be the smart type of people, and everyone's class schedule are all so different, so why?"
She frowned as the girl let out a lighthearted laugh at her question. Leo tucked a few strands of stray hair behind her ear and smiled sweetly. "That is a good question. But if you've read the student handbook, you would have known this by now." She answered honestly.
Feeling embarrassed that she didn't even consider checking the handbook, Teddy opened the lid of her desk and took it out. She checked the table of contents then flipped the pages, Leo watching her with an amused smile.
"House Sorting," She began to read out loud. "Students will be sorted into their respective houses by choice of the House Captain. There are four houses, namely: Red Hair, Whitebeard, Big Mom, and Beasts."
Teddy glanced at her class and raised a questioning eyebrow. "So which house are we in?" She asked.
"Red Hair," Leo answered. "Our House Captain is Red Hair Shanks, the man who gave you that detention card." She pointed at the black card Shanks had given Teddy for being late to class. The card had a skull with a pair of crossed sabres behind it. It has three red stripes that cross diagonally across the skull's left eye socket.
"That is Shanks' detention card." She continued, taking a similar card from her skirt pocket and waved it in front of Teddy's face. "House Captains are like our classroom advisors. They supervise their students and have the power to punish them by sending them to detention."
Teddy nodded, seeming to understand a bit, and continued reading the handbook.
"Class Subjects start on the second week of school. Subjects depend on the students' abilities." She frowned. "Students' abilities?"
"That means your DF ability!" Araina screamed in her ear. Teddy winced from the loud volume.
"Araina, you shouldn't yell at people's ears. They might go deaf." Leo scolded the blonde girl.
Araina apologized with a laugh and peeked at the handbook. She pointed at the class subject named Zoan and tapped on the instructor's name. "Marco the Phoenix." She stated. "That's Leo-chan's DF instructor!"
Teddy's jaw dropped upon hearing the news, "Leo you're a DF user?!"
Leo didn't respond, but gave a sheepish smile. Guilty as charged, presumably?
Scanning the names of the unfamiliar teachers, Teddy frowned at her instructor's name: Crocodile. That sure as hell didn't sound friendly.
"Once I get out of this hellhole, I'm gonna slit the author's throat." She muttered angrily.
"Forget that for a second!" Araina exclaimed and pulled out a detention card from her pocket with a pout. "What are we gonna do about these things?! I don't wanna go to detention!"
Leo nodded, but kept the smile on her face. She set her card down and sighed, "You're right. This is our first detention of the school year. The supervisor must be feeling extremely sadistic and excited to see us try to survive his ordeals."
"Ordeals?!" Teddy choked out.
"And to think that we'll be spending this detention with the Worst Generation too..." Araina sighed.
Teddy exclaimed, "WORST GENERATION?!"
