I fell asleep on the way home holding Alec's hand. As I slept I dreamed of my mom. I dreamed she was in great pain, but I knew she was safe in Alec's home. I woke up as I felt myself being lifted from the seat, I decided to pretend I was still sleeping. I felt his deep chuckle as it rumbled up from his chest, then I felt Alec's hot breath next to my ear which made me shiver in pleasure.

"I know you're awake, but I'll let it slide since I want to hold you in my arms anyways," Alec whispered softly into my ear.

I hid my face in his neck embarrassed. I listened to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat, it was my own personal lullaby. Each step he took slowly rocked me back to sleep.

I woke up the next morning to the sound of knocking. I sat up in the bed slightly confused and sleepily took in my surroundings. I heard the knocking again and realized someone was at the door.

I cleared my throat and asked, "Who is it?"

"It's me, the one who brought you the clothes before," said the woman on the other side.

"Oh, umm ok. Give me just a minute!" I said. I pushed myself off the bed and walked over to the door.

"Come on in. Is there something you need?" I asked, moving side to let her in.

"No, I don't need anything. I'm just here to see what you want for breakfast. I also brought up your boxes from the moving truck."

"Umm, thanks. That must've taken a lot of work, but I'm sorry I'm not staying here. I have a home. It's actually not too far from here, I think," I responded, completely baffled.

She tilted her head to the side and furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, "Aren't you staying here with Alpha?"

"Uh, no? Umm, just because we are mates doesn't mean I have to stay here. I barely know him, we only just met. I mean yes I feel this connection to him, but still I don't want to just move into some stranger's house. I hope that makes sense and doesn't come off wrong," I said, with a hint of blush.

I hadn't heard Alec walk up behind me as I was talking to her. I heard a growl from behind me, and only then realized she was looking at him and not me. Uh oh, I said to myself as I slowly turned around. My eyes came to rest on a very angry man.

"Umm, uhhh..." I tried to say something to Alec that wouldn't come off harsh.

"I'll talk to you later, Miss, I mean Luna," the woman stuttered out, as she backed away and closed the door.

I opened my mouth then closed it again as I decided not to speak. I wanted him to calm down before I said anything else. So I waited. I watched him, he moved closer to me. I stood perfectly still.

"What do you mean you aren't staying here?" He growled.

I sighed, and looked straight into his guarded eyes, "I'm staying at my house, with my mom. I don't really know you. I know that you want me here but I want to get to know you first. I also have my son to take care of. Doesn't that make more sense Alec?"

Alec frowned and ran his hands through his hair. Which was kinda hot and made me want to play with his hair, I shook my head to rid it of those thoughts.

"Yeah I guess it makes sense," he said sadly, looking down at the floor.

He was so pitiful, and it was breaking my heart. I couldn't take it, I went over to him and wrapped my arms around him. He hugged me back and rested his head on top of mine. We stood like that for a couple of minutes before letting go.

"I still think it's best if you stay here though. I think your car crash wasn't an accident. I am pretty sure the tree was cut down."

When I heard that I felt myself go cold. I thought about my so called dad, the strange woman in my dreams, and the strange guy my mom talked to before we left.

"Are you sure the tree was cut?" I whispered.

Alec nodded watching my face intently. I tried to look empassive but I really don't know if I pulled it off. I quickly changed the subject.

"So you guys found my mom?" I asked him.

"Yes we did, do you want to see her?"

I nodded my head unwilling to try speaking for fear my voice might tremble. He started towards the door then turned around when he realized I wasn't following him.

"Are you coming or not?"

I collected my thoughts and rushed towards the door muttering a sorry to him. He chuckled.

"Slow down you don't even know where she is," he said, his voice full of laughter.

I frowned at him. "Well you asked if I was coming, so I was trying to hurry up," I said, confused.

He grinned at me. Well I wouldn't say grinned, more like a lopsided smile. "Well yeah, I did, but that didn't mean to run off blindly."

I blushed, realizing he was right.

"Ah, sorry. I guess that didn't makes sense. I'm just nervous about finally getting to see her I guess," I whispered.

I looked away chewing on my bottom lip. He smiled and placed his hand on my cheek. He used his thumb to gently pull my lip away from my teeth. I looked into his heated eyes and released it from my grip with a shy smile.

"Let's go," he said, grabbing my hand.

He led me down the stairs and down a couple of different halls before getting to the room my mom was in. Alec knocked on the door and I felt myself fill with excitement to finally see her and Liam.

"Come in."

I smiled hearing my mom's voice, I was so excited that I rushed to open the door. I let go of Alec's hand and ran towards her. I stopped short when I realized that Liam wasn't with her. I started to panic.

"Where's Liam? Why isn't he with you?"

She looked at me sadly and said, "They took him from me, at first I let them because I was trying to talk to this guy," she said, as she narrowed her eyes at Alec.

Shock would be an understatement for what I was feeling at that moment. Why would he do that! My baby was probably terrified all by himself! I looked back at Alec so filled with anger, he actually flinched.

"Why on Earth would you do that to us?" I screamed at him.

I felt hot tears stream down my face. Damn it, this wasn't the time for me to cry. I wanted my son back! Why did Alec have him?

"He's fine, one of the women has been taking care of him. We can go get him after you're done talking to her," Alec said, trying to calm me down.

"Ok but why isn't he with my mom? I don't understand, he's probably scared!"

"I'll explain when we are done here. Just trust me on this."

I frowned at him, trust him? I barely know him and he's expecting me to trust him with my son? I was about to let him have it when I heard a buzzing noise. I turned around and looked at my mom. She looked pissed off.

"Is everything ok mom?" I asked.

Her attitude completely changed, "Oh I'm fine, but I have to take this call. It's the moving company."

"Oh okay, I'll talk to you later. Okay?"

She nodded and shooed me away with her hand. I took Alec's hand and pulled him towards the door eagerly.

"Ok, now take me to my son! I also want an explanation for all this," I demanded, glaring up at him.

"Alright, I do think you need an explanation but first let's go pick up your son, okay?"

I nodded and we headed back down the hallway. We had walked for about ten minutes when I heard giggling and muffled voices. I started to pick up the pace. What I saw surprised me, it was a playroom full of children. I frantically looked around hoping to see Liam. I spotted him and another boy in a corner playing with cars. I sighed, relieved and happy. Finally, laying eyes on him lifted a huge weight off my shoulders.

"Liam, baby!" I called out to him.

His little head shot up. When he saw me a big smile spread across his face, he immediately jumped up and ran towards me. He was a couple steps away when he tripped, I quickly stepped forward and scooped him up before he collided with the floor. He gave me a huge bear hug, laid his head on my chest, and smiled showing me his beautiful little dimples. My heart jumped for joy.
