The beginning of a great war pt 2

*another time skip because this wasn't supposed to be this long**5 weeks later*

Scarredheart's POV

I've been here for five weeks now. The shadow creatures renamed me from Cloud to ScarredHeart. I actually like it. Ever since that day I was pushed into the river I've been... different.

The creatures say that they fused their abilities or something with me so I would survive. All I know now is that I have their powers. I can shift shape, communicate with animals, and read other people's minds.

Me being able to communicate with animals and being able to read people's minds were my own powers. Each shadow creature has their own special powers and those two were mine.

Other people have been joining us. As a joke, I started calling us an army. But it stuck, and now we act as one. Everyone has a role.

Some are medics, chefs, soldiers, tailors, etc. I'm actually in training to be the alpha which basically means the general.

Today my mentor, the one who saved me from the river, decided to show me something. Her name is ShadowedMoon. In the little time that I knew her, she's become almost a mother to me.

In her regular shadow creature form she's a dragon with coal colored scales. On her legs, wings, and tail she has patches of fur. Her eyes were a deep magenta color.(aka a color I can't see)

She has taught me to use my powers to give myself wings so I can fly. She said that we were going to have to fly over the river to get to our destination.

I'm gonna be honest. I was kind of nervous. I was still kind of wobbly on my wings and over the years that the river formed it had become even bigger.

Moon assured me that I would be alright. So I listened.

I unfolded my wings. They were feathery wings that were colored dark purple with red stripes. I looked at over the wide stretched river and saw absolutely no end to it. Moon gave me nudge on the arm for reassurens before she took off into the sky.

She climbed a great night before stopping and waiting for me. I shakily lifted myself off of the ground towards her. Once I finally reached her she flew under me in case I did fall she could catch me.

Her wings also added extra air under mine, helping me stay in the air.

*Oh wow would ya look at that! Another diddly darn time skip*

We have been flying for three straight hours now. I had gotten tired since I'm still not used to flying that much. I went on as far as I could before Moon forced me to rest.

The funny thing about her is that her type of shadow creatures carry their young like bats do, on their chests. It was actually way more comfortable than it sounds. Moon used her arms to keep me in place and make sure I didn't fall.

She was able to fly faster now that she didn't have to keep an eye on me. Even though I was hanging upside down I actually felt super comfortable. Before a while I feel into a comfortable sleep.

*Should I turn this into a book because this may be longer than I thought it would be... Also timeskip*

When I awoke, I saw that Moon had perched us in a tree a little ways away from what looked to be a camp. I looked to Moon for answers.

"This is the territory of our enemy, The flowers. Or, what you might call it, the home of the one who almost killed you." She finished speaking and gave me time to take in this information.

The person who attempted to murder me, was alive and well. In a pack of their own. Probably hasn't given a single thought to me.

I'll make sure that changes.

"How do you know this?" I asked Moon.

"Every five weeks their leader and I have a meeting. I learned that "Fluff" was also being trained to be their leader." She continued. "Tonight is another meeting. We have decided it is time for you two to... catch up." She motioned for me to climb on her chest.

I did and she flew off towards what I guessed was the meeting place. We flew for about ten more minutes until we came upon a strange sight. It was a flower field, but right in the middle was a patch of about six trees. Moon landed right where the first tree was.

A wolf stepped out of the trees. It was bigger than me! It's fur was a deep red with stripes if green throughout it. The wolf spoke in a smooth but unnerving voice.

"Good evening, Moon. Like always, it's a pleasure to see you." It spoke.

"I sadly can't say the same, Redfield. Anyway, I am going to get straight to the point. Last meeting, we agreed to bring our successors. Did you hold up your end of the deal?" Moon was blunt. She obviously wasn't in the mood to play.

"Oh, Moon. Always business with you. But yes, I have brought my apprentice." He looked behind him and barked at something.

Out from the trees walked my old friend. From Fluff's clothes and the way they walked, it was obvious they were treated like royalty. A growl rose from my throat. I felt my shadow abilities shift my fingers into long claws. I stepped forward towards Fluff but Moon held me back.

"Hello, Cloud. It's been a while. I'm happy to see you're alive and well!" Fluff spoke.

"Cut the shit, Fluff! You pushed me into that river on purpose! I coulda died! And you obviously feel no remorse!" I hissed back.

"Language, Cloud. And what's with the grammar? 'Coulda'? Really?" Fluff said with their annoying smooth voice.

"It's not 'Cloud', you overrated piece of shit! It's Scarredheart! Like it? It's inspired by you." My hissing turned into full on growling.

Fluff was about to say something but his mentor, Redfield, stopped them from speaking. He then turned to face Moon.

"I see you have chosen a... loud spoken one. I look forward to his leadership. And I hope you look forward to my apprentice's rule." Redfield said.

Moon let out a low growl and picked me up by the loose fur on the back of my neck. I didn't even realize that I was half shifted into some type of shadow creature. So far I have never shifted into a full shadow creature, only half way. So, no one knows what I am going to be.

She took to the sky with me still in her mouth. She maneuvered her neck so that I could rest on her back.

"From what you've told me and from what I've seen, your cub is very confident. But, that attitude could be the end for the poor thing some day. You might want to get that in check before it's too late." Moon said to Redfield.

"Is that a threat?" Redfield questioned.

"It can be whatever you make it out to be." With that, Moon and I started our long trip across the river.
