Today's the day.

The so-called "friends finally meeting" thing Naruto mentioned.

In all honesty, Hinata was terrified..well they both were.

She stressed over what to wear, if her hair looked fine, or even if she needed a breath mint.

Hinata took three just to be on the safe side. I mean, bad breath, that's a big turn off.

She looked herself over in the mirror for what seemed to be the tenth time that morning. Her and Naruto agreed to meet up around 12:30pm at Charlott's Café, it was a little early in her opinion, but she didn't mind nonetheless.

Naruto on the other hand, completely regretted agreeing to the time, because he woke up late..11:54am to be exact.

He rushed around for his clothes, only to realize how smart he was because he prepared his clothes the night before out of excitement.

He rushed to the bathroom for a quick ten minute shower, combing his hair afterwards, then washing his face and brushing his teeth. He basically drank from the mouthwash bottle, putting too much liquid necessary into his mouth. He was on the bridge of tears as the mouthwash "burned" his mouth then spitting it out after a few seconds more.

Being a nervous wreck, thinking that wasn't enough, he searched frantically for a breath mint, but failed.

"MOM!" he yelled from the upstairs bathroom. "Where is the breath mints?!"

"There isn't any more!!" She shouted back.

He ran downstairs in nothing, but a towel wrapped securely around his waisted.

"What! What do you mean there isn't any more!?"

His father, Minato rolled his eyes. "Here we go." He sighed quietly, folding the newspaper he was reading in his hands and setting it on the table.

"I mean there isn't any more! And get dressed!" She threatened loudly.

"Its too early for this. Why are you two yelling?" Minato complained, getting completely ignored right after.

"You guys know I have a.." Naruto paused, blushing.

Kushina smirked at her son. "Yes Naruto~ we know about your date." She emphasized, making him blush and pout, earning a laugh from both parents in return. "But there isn't any breath mints. I have gum if that would help."

Naruto grinned widely, thanking his mother afterwards.

As he was running up the stairs his mother called to him.

"Its 12:24 ya' know!" She stated loudly.

The parents heard a scream and a loud thump, indicating that he must have fallen, making them both laugh.

Seconds later they saw him return all dressed and chewing furiously on a piece of gum, but knowing their son, he probably put four in his mouth.

"Did you get your phone this time." His father called out as Naruto neared the door.

"Of course I-" he paused as he didn't feel the device in any of his pockets. "Damnit." He grumbled and rushed back up the stairs.

"And your wallet!" Kushina added in, getting a loud groan in return.

"Okay I got everything, love ya mom, dad, see you guys later!"

As he was running, he quickly glanced down at his phone to check the time.

'12:35'

Freaking out, he started to run faster, and as he neared the café he had to spit out the gum, as it started to taste bland and out of flavor.

Hinata waited silently in the café, sipping on her latté. She made an observation that this would be happening a lot lately..Naruto being late that is.

She looked at her phone and the time had read 12:56; she sighed quietly, then glanced out the window. When she blinked, she could have sworn she saw a figure with blonde hair dashing by. Seconds later, the door to the café opened with a small ding, revealing the said blonde.

She watched in amusement as he searched frantically for her, until their eyes met.

It was a staring contest from afar, and in Hinata's opinion, he was winning. She could feel the blush rising to her cheeks, so out of habit, she looked down and played with her fingers.

When he finally reached the table, he sat down in front of her, staring at her with so much interest. When she glanced up slightly he could see the fiery, red blush invading her face, making him blush at her cuteness.

"Y-you.." He choked. He so wanted to tell her how nice she looked, but he couldn't get the words out.

"Hmm?" She hummed questionably.

He quickly looked down in shame, his blush spreading wider. "Ne-nevermind." He mumbled.

Hinata stared in confusion. This was not the Naruto she was always texting. He seemed so confident, and flirted with her almost every five minutes. This Naruto was just as nervous as her.

Hinata wanted to speak also, but she didn't know what to say, she too wanted to compliment him on his appearance, but she was too anxious.

Then she had an idea.

She grabbed her phone from out her pocket and started to tap away, Naruto saw this and was very disappointed.

'I blew it!' He scolded himself. She probably thought he was boring or something, probably laughing at him, thinking how pathetic and childish he was-

Then there was a buzz in his pocket, so he reached for his phone.

He unlocked the device and his eyes widened.

Hina1227:
You look nice Naruto :) I can see that we are both nervous, since we are only used to texting each other, I figured we do this until we are ready to speak.

He looked up at the girl in front of him and smiled, brightly. The most beautiful smile Hinata has ever seen.

Naruto.boii:
Great idea Hinata! I wanted to tell you that you look beautiful ;)

Hinata re-read the text, her face turning red again. Naruto saw this and chuckled.

Naruto.boii:
You also look cute when you blush :)

Hina1227:
Okay you, stop that ! >.<

Naruto.boii:
Is it wrong for me to compliment a goddess?

Naruto hit sent with a smirk on his face. Hinata being all flustered, turned off her phone and started at him with a pout.

Naruto laughed.

"Th-thank you," Hinata spoke up first. "for the compliment that is."

Naruto smiled at her, now he felt much more comfortable. "No problem." It was silent again. Naruto and Hinata didn't really plan out their "date" too well, but Naruto quickly came up with something."Hey! After we eat, we should totally head to this arcade, it's pretty cool ya' know, but..um only if you want to of course."

Hinata smiled at him, in all honesty, she loved games.

"Yes, I would love to."

So that's exactly what they did, after they ate, they walked towards an arcade that wasn't too far from the small café and walked inside.

Hinata started in awe; looking over all of the many games, and machines she could visually see.

"Anything you want to play first-" he began, only to see that Hinata wasn't by his side anymore.

Panicking he snapped his head frantically in any direction trying to find his goddess.

Then his sighed in relief when he spotted her at one of the claw machines, staring at something that was inside.

Finally walking towards her with a chuckle, he spoke. "See something you like, besides me of course." He said through a smirk, to which Hinata just rolled her eyes.

"There's a cute purple fox in there." She pointed excitedly. She went to grab her wallet, but Naruto stopped her.

"Don't worry, you don't have to strain yourself, I'm a pro." He stated proudly.

"Yeah, a pro at being annoying." She mumbled playfully, but loud enough for him to hear. "Don't worry Naruto, this ain't my first rodeo."

Naruto laughed at her statement. "People still say that?"

Hinata giggled before saying,"I don't know, but I do." Then inserting fifty scents into the machine.

Naruto snorted after calling her a dork in the process.

They both watched as the claw began to move. Hinata concentrated on moving the machinery to the perfect direction, and straight above the purple fox. Naruto watching her as she played, shook his head with a grin on his face, but it went unnoticed by Hinata herself.

Finally pressing the red button, they stared intently as the claw dived into the plushy's back, only to slide right off of it. Hinata pouted in disappointment.

She turned to Naruto as he began to speak, but she had cut him off. "Don't say a word, I got this." She spoke determinedly.

She used the same strategy again, and this time, they watched again as the claw reached for its target.

Her eyes widened in excitement as the stuffed animal was brought up.

Then, it fell once it was lifted to what seemed to be five inches from the ground. Naruto stared in amusement at her dilemma, she turned to him. "The machine is broken."

Naruto laughed at her poor excuse. "Step out the way newbie, and watch the master." He stated as he took over the game.

She glared childishly at the machine, her arms folded under her chest, and now it was her turn to see what he can do.

Naruto maneuvered the claw towards the fox, but instead of having it right under the fox, it was centered right beside it. Hinata lifted an eyebrow as she watched the claw completely miss the toy altogether, laughing at him in the process.

"Naruto, you completely missed-" Naruto cut her off with his hand, then pointed at the glass of the machine.

She watched in confusion as the fox plush toy was being hauled into the air.

"B-but how!?" Then she watched closely as the claw was caught in the plastic ring where the toy tag was.

He bent down and grabbed his prize.

"Hmm, your right, this is cute. It's a good thing I won it for myself." He mocked her.

Hinata groaned. "No fair. I saw it first." She whined in disappointed.

"But who won it." He mocked again.

She gave in."Ugh fine."

The afternoon consisted of the two playing games against each other, claiming who's the best and how many games they could win in a row. They laughed and joked with each other, fully getting comfortable with the other, as if they known each other for years.

They left the arcade at around five in the afternoon, with smiles on their faces, until they stopped right outside Charlott's Café.

"Well, this is where we part our ways." Hinata spoke.

"Yeah right, I'm walking you home, just lead the way." Hinata stared in shock. "But don't you live on the other side of town?"

"Yeah, but it's not going to kill me." He smiled at her.

Deciding to go along with it, he walked her home. They talked on the way there, and tried to plan more of these... "dates".

Once reaching her doorstep, Hinata was about to open the door when he stopped her.She turned around, only to see how close their faces where.

Her heart started to beat like a drum, her blush took over her cheeks, and her eyes widened.

He stared at the beauty in front of him, not completely affected by their close proximity. He leaned forward, closing his eyes in the process.

At this point, Hinata's head started to spin, as if she was ready to faint.

'He's going to kiss me!' She screamed within the depths of her mind. She never had her first kiss before, and she didn't even know what to do or what to expect.

Plus, this was only the first date, she thought.

She seen this particular scene happen in one of the shows she watched before, and decided to just imitate what she saw there.

How pathetic, she thought. Here she was, a seventeen year old, that needs to rely on a tv show to help her with her first kiss.

Squeezing her eyes shut, she waited for his lips on hers.

Naruto opening his eyes smirked as he leaned towards her face only to whispered in her ears, "You forgot your toy."

She snapped her eyes open and looked at him dumbfounded. "What?"

"Your fox plushy." He stated with a chuckle.

"But, y-you said it was yours."  She stuttered.

"I was only messing with you." He joked.

Hinata, now completely embarrassed, took the toy fox from his hands, muttered a quick "good evening" and slammed the door. She slid to the floor in shame.

"I'm so stupid." She scolded herself.

What she didn't know, was that on the other side of the door, was a completely flushed Naruto, silently wishing that his lips touched against hers.
