Thirteen
Yoongi woke up alone.
Which was okay, even though his mother didn't wake him up for dinner, and it was nearly three in the morning when he woke up. He had a long, good nap. Probably because the scent. Probably because Jungkook basically pet him to sleep. And probably because he was so tired from the stressful day yesterday.
Either way, Yoongi woke up without Jungkook next to his side. But a note. A little note placed on the bed, where Jungkook had been lying down next to Yoongi.
Yoongi could barely see in his room, so he turned on his lamp so that he could open the folded paper and read it to himself.
[ Yoongi. Hi
In case you didn't notice, this letter is from your most loving soulmate and I'm writing this letter because you fell asleep +Also because I'm a little too shy to say anything to you in person..... ㅠㅡㅠ Anyways
First of all, you're really pretty Yoongi. Just seeing you every morning makes me feel so happy. Shouldnt you feel this way as well? Or is it only me?? Anyways... um
I really like your smile. And your eyes are so cute like a cat. Now that Im thinking about it, you look like this emoji: -ㅅ- haha
God I'm so bad at writing letters
You're really cute cuddled into your pillow.. You look so peaceful and pretty. I hope you have a good nap. I know you said that today sucked and clearly you were tired...
I'm sorry that I made your day bad.
I know it was because of me. And I know I was dumb for thinking I could scent you when I have a girlfriend... I know it must hurt you Yoongi. It hurts me too. I've spent my whole childhood wishing to find my soulmate and I actually found you. That's a rare thing that happens, you know...
I'm breaking up with her. It's fate, Yoongi. We can't go against it right??
Is that what you want?
Why am I talking like this...
I'll see you at school tomorrow ]
Yoongi held so tightly onto his pillow it hurt. He squealed to himself, silently celebrating the letter in his hands. Finally Jungkook understands. Finally he makes the choice.
Now how the hell will Yoongi go back to sleep after reading all of this?
-
Walking into the school building the next day felt absolutely weird. Yoongi could feel an odd burning in his lower stomach on top of feeling nervous for some reason. He guesses it's because of only himself, because the students in the school had finally stopped staring at him so much. The reason he's nervous is because of Jungkook. He doesn't know why.
It's just that feeling, the doubt deep within Yoongi. The being scared of what's real.
Did Jungkook mean all the things he wrote in that note? Had he actually sat in Yoongi's room and written a letter to him because he was too scared to speak in person? He actually thought Yoongi was cute? Was he seriously going to break up with Yuri?
The thoughts and the letter were in Yoongi's mind. He couldn't even go back to sleep last night. There was leftovers for him in the fridge, but he couldn't find it in himself to eat.
"Yoongi!" A familiar voice came from down the hallway. Yoongi turned around, seeing Namjoon walk towards him that that warm smile he loves to offer. "Hey." He caught up to Yoongi. "Our teacher told me to mention this to you yesterday, but I forgot. We have a project coming up soon and it requires a pass to the library down the street. I wanted to know if you already had one."
Yoongi shook his head, not even knowing that there was a library nearby.
"It's okay." Namjoon said. "How about I bring my tablet to your lunch table today and we can sign you up? You have to have your school email and all. It's complicated. They asked me to help you, but you'll catch on."
Yoongi nodded. "Yeah, I sit near the door to the left." He told Namjoon. "I'll sign up for a library card, yeah. I like reading anyways."
Namjoon smiled. "Yeah? So do I." He said. "I'll see you at lunch, then." He patted Yoongi's shoulder before walking away. Yoongi hadn't even realized that his body had un-tensed from Namjoon's warm presence until he stepped in front of his classroom door, his heartbeat picking up again in that same fear.
"You asshole." He heard as soon as he stepped into the class, no teacher in sight.
He could instantly feel how tense the whole room was, surprised faces looking towards the back of the room. The voice was Yuri. Yoongi's heart dipped, not because anything bad happened, but because he thought it would. He thought Jungkook wouldn't do it.
But here he is.
"I'm sorry—"
"Asshole." Yuri stood up from her chair, standing up to Jungkook, who was standing over his own desk. Yuri was sat in his desk, probably waiting for her boyfriend to get to class. Maybe Yoongi had walked in just right behind Jungkook. What did Jungkook say to her? Why is she so crazy right now?
"Yuri." He said sternly, backing away from the Omega as she pushed by him.
She growled. "Which one of these whores are you fucking? Huh? You don't just break up with someone after almost two years, you asshole." She narrowed her eyes around the room. "Who touched my Alpha?" Her eyes landed on Yoongi's as he tried to slowly, quietly sit down in his desk seat.
Yoongi knew that Yuri sensed something weird from him from the moment he first found out Jungkook was his soulmate. She could probably put the pieces together.
"Don't look at me like that." Yoongi furrowed his eyebrows right back at her. This is his chance to stand up to the bitch of high school. This is his chance to not relive what he lived in his old high school. And this time he has Jungkook, a safety in the room. Jungkook, who was holding back his smile as he looked down at his soulmate. "Jungkook does what he wants to. Stop blaming all of us." Yoongi said.
Yuri clenched her fists.
She walked towards Yoongi, rearing her hand back. He could hear a chair behind him move, another attempt of Seokjin to save Yoongi from the hit that was about to come. But then the hit never came. Yoongi looked back up at Yuri, not even noticing that he had barely flinched. And Jungkook was standing there, holding her wrist tightly to catch her strike.
Yuri tried to pull away but Jungkook pushed her out of the way of Yoongi, standing in front of him with a stern look on his face.
"Don't you ever try and touch my soulmate ever again, Yuri." Jungkook's voice was low and scary. Students gasped and some even chuckled as Yuri's eyes widened.
"What?" She watched as Jungkook ran his fingers down Yoongi's neck, the sensitive skin near his scent gland tingling. Yoongi heard Seokjin behind him, plopping down into his seat defeatedly. He already knew exactly what he and Hoseok was thinking right now: they're what? soulmates?
He looked up into Jungkook's eyes, a soft smile forming on his lips as he looked down at Yoongi. "Morning." He said to Yoongi. "Did you sleep well?" He asked, not caring that Yuri and the whole class was listening.
Happy, Yoongi nodded.
"You know," He made sure he looked straight at Yuri. "I wish you had stayed longer last night. The bed felt so empty. A pity—"
"Ugh!" Yuri stormed to the back of the class, sitting next to Suk-Yeong, who was trying his best not to laugh at the bitchy Omega.
Jungkook took the seat behind Yoongi, not caring who sat there usually. "Are you offering to cuddle with me?" He pulled Yoongi back into his own chair, his back pressing against the harsh chair as Jungkook leaned into the back of his neck, leaving soft pecks.
God, it felt so nice.
Having the whole classroom witness this, all of them knowing that this is his soulmate. Everyone's gossiping finally making Yoongi smile instead of sigh. Yes, go on. Go tell the whole school that this Alpha is my mate. Let everyone know that I'm his.
"Glad to know that this satisfies you." Jungkook chuckled into his skin, breathing in his soulmate's strong scent. "Smell so good, Yoongi." He kissed Yoongi's neck.
Weak, weak, weak.
Every time Jungkook kisses him, he can feel his body melting into the chair. Weak.
Yoongi opened his eyes, not realizing they were closed. He had a big smiling Hoseok and an embarrassed Seokjin trying his best not to watch the actions between the two.
"You're stinking up the whole room with your soulmate scents." Hoseok giggled, clearly surprised to see Jungkook so lovingly kiss Yoongi. "Teacher will kick you out. Why don't you two just skip class and.." a wink.
Jungkook left Yoongi's neck and Yoongi could see Hoseok cower back, his smile fading and embarrassment also hitting him. Yoongi chuckled at the Omega.
"He's not gonna bite your heads off, Seokies." Yoongi turned to look at Jungkook. "Right?" He asked. Jungkook nodded.
"Can you guys..." Jungkook pressed his face into Yoongi's neck again, suddenly shy. "Can my friends and I sit with you at lunch? Can I... sit with you at lunch?" He asked. Yoongi nodded, feeling Jungkook ease up. "Okay, then can we also go to my car again and—"
"We have class, Jungkookie."
"Exactly." The Alpha kissed Yoongi's neck, the scent warm and nice. "And I want every single class to know that you're my soulmate. Can we at least go talk? I want to talk, please."
Yoongi wanted Jungkook's scent so badly on him. He shrugged, sighing as if he didn't absolutely want it as well. "Seok, you'll let us borrow your notes right?" He asked Hoseok, who nodded in return. "Okay." Yoongi stood up from his desk, pulling Jungkook with him. "I'll be back by lunch. Save room for three, too." He said, earning a soft smile from Jungkook.
"Will do." Seokjin gave a thumbs up.
