     DANTE TAYLOR WAS A LOST BOY. That's all he was when he was younger. He was just a lost little boy that no one cared about.
     He believed his parents didn't care about him, as his mother had given him up for adoption when he was just a newborn and his father was no where to be found. No one in the foster home he stayed at cared about him. Not the foster mother, who just thought of him as a quick cash grab. None of the other foster kids even gave him a second glance when he complained about the nightmares of hooded demons and whispers of a faceless man. Dante Taylor was just a lost and lonely boy.
     Until he became friends with a young Annabeth Chase.
     Both came from similar walks of life, with both of their home situations being unfortunate.
     They were both lost and lonely kids.
     They met while Dante was playing on the swings alone when he noticed Annabeth being tormented by a group of older kids. He had stood up for the Chase girl and was subsequently beat up for helping her. After that moment they easily became friends and eventually felt like found siblings.
     Then Annabeth suggested that they both run away from the living situations, as they essentially had nothing to live for in those homes. Dante was all for it, as he had nothing to hold him back.
     So Dante and Annabeth went on the run. They were both still lost kids, but at least they had each other. Until they met Luke Castellan and Thalia Grace. Luke and Thalia discovered the two hidden away in an alley one day and decided to take them both in. Annabeth, Thalia and Luke all knew of their demigod heritage, but Dante, as he was given up at birth, did not know if he was a demigod.
     He knew he was different from most kids, as he wasn't as intelligent as most of his peers in school and he wasn't as strong as the foster siblings who tormented him, but Dante knew deep down that something, anything made him special.
     So the four of them continued to travel to the "demigod sanctuary" that Luke and Thalia were traveling to. Dante knew this could be his fresh start, with people who would be able to understand him. And even if people there didn't understand him or if he wasn't a demigod, he still had his new "family" in Annabeth, Luke and Thalia.
     That was until they were close to the sanctuary, Camp Half-Blood, with their new satyr friend, Grover. Monsters and creatures began to attack the demigods and the satyr, but not Dante. The monsters had avoided attacking the Taylor boy.
     In an attempt to save her family, Thalia had sacrificed herself so that the other demigods and Grover were given safe passage into Camp Half-Blood.
But life at Camp Half-Blood couldn't have been worse for Dante. He discovered the identity of his birth father or rather he was "claimed" by him. The God of the Underworld had claimed Dante as his son, which unfortunately didn't do Dante any favors. He was ridiculed and by shunned by the other demigods due to the negative connotations of underworld kids.
So Dante became Camp Half-Blood's resident freak...until a certain son of Poseidon came into the picture, causing a spike in his dreams of the monstrous figures and the whispers of the faceless man.
     Things are about to go from bad to worse.

NansNote: Here we are people!! I'm actually super excited to start writing this story. This fic is heavily inspired by the song Ptolemaea by ethel cain, if you haven't noticed. Dante is literally just a big ball of emo with a soft and caring center. But let's just say there's some... darkness creeping out of him through the form of the certain visions & dreams. There will be times that Dante will pull some selfish/unlikeable moves, but it's pretty fair considering what he AND his family go through. Let's just say that he has every right to be a "villain."
