A/N Here we are four years later watching the world's

athletes performing on their stage in Pyeong Chang, Korea. I have been

most impressed with the athleticism of the competitors in the snowboard,

ski jumping and figure skating events. The progress that they have made in

their various sports in such a short time has been incredible. I have admired

the media coverage of the team sports including the curling, hockey, etc. I have

been impressed with the fine tuning of the drug testing and the reduction in the

blatant unfairness that used to be rampant in the judging of the skating events.

However, as a patriotic Canadian, I was embarrassed about the immature behavior

and unsportsmanlike reaction that out country's women's hockey team displayed

when they were presented with their silver medal for which they should have been

most grateful.

Congratulations to all of the successful, individual athletes for your outstanding

performances and I wish those of you who didn't quite make it to the podium this time

success in the next Olympics. A lot can happen in the next four years.
