Jason's POV

I woke up early with Piper right beside me. I groaned and shook her awake. I was freezing last night. Maybe we can find Leo. He would be a handy guy to have with us.

We got up and walked off in search of water. I also wish Percy were here, but I don't know where anyone else went. I really don't want to kill anyone. I couldn't imagine killing any of my friends. I'm already pretty shaken up about the two deaths yesterday and I hardly even know them. I can't imagine seeing my friends die.

We've been through so much together I don't think I could stand it. 'As long as I have Piper' I thought, 'everything will be okay.'

I grabbed her hand and we walked farther into the woods. I heard rustling in the woods and the sound of a string being pulled taught. I was immediately on guard. Before I could move there was a whistling sound. Then a thud.

I looked over at Piper to see an arrow embedded in her stomach. Blood started to soak through her shirt as she looked up at me. I could see the fear in her eyes. She didn't want to die. I didn't want her to die either.

Tears streamed down my face as she fell into me, her head on my chest. I lowered her to the ground and held her in my arms rocking her back and forth.

Her eyes found mine and her lip quivered like she wanted to say something. I kissed her forehead and her eyes widened I single tear rolled down her face as her eyes stared at the stars, unseeing.

I sobbed when I heard the cannon. I was horrified. Who did this? Who did this to my beautiful love? The person I least expected stepped into the clearing.

Thalia lowered her bow and walked towards me, her face a mask of grim determination.

"Thalia, why did you do this?" I screamed at her.

"I'm sorry brother," she said, "but I want to win."

Leo's POV

I flinched as the second cannon of the day went off. Percy was visible anxious from his spot beside me. We had been walking for awhile now. We formed an alliance because we just happened to run off in the same direction.

I was grateful though. I didn't want to do this alone, and I knew I could trust Percy. "Who do you think died?" I asked him quietly. "I don't know." he grumbled miserably.

I knew what he was thinking. He was desperate to find Annabeth. He wouldn't stop talking about her. I agreed. We needed a smart person on our team. Not that we aren't smart, just, you know, Athena perks.

Just then we heard a third cannon and Percy started to cry. He made no sound, but I could see the tears on his face in the light of my fire.

It was dark by now and I knew it was only a matter of time before we'd find out who died today.

Five more minutes and the IM showed up. Zeus came on and said, "Three heroes perished in today's events. Piper McLean, Jason Grace, and Conner Stoll. May the gods be ever in your favor."

Percy cried harder, sobbing now. I sat down hard and buried my face in my hands. My two best friends. Dead. In one day. What the hell is going on?

Katie's POV

When I heard Conner died I knew I had to find Travis, and soon. I took off into the woods, yelling his name, not caring if anyone hear me.

I soon came to a clearing. It was dimly lit with a torch set in the ground. He sat there in the clearing, sobbing.

"Travis..." I walked to him and put a hand in his shoulder. He was on his knees, Conner in his arms, a three-inch hole in his chest.

"Oh gods Travis I'm so sorry." I said, stroking his hair. He leaned into me and sobbed into my shoulder.

After awhile I Conner's body disappeared. I guess the gods are delivering him to the Underworld. I put a hand under Travis's chin and lifted his head up to mine. "Hey, it's gonna be okay." And then I kissed him, his face wet with tears. He kissed me back and despite the circumstances, I had hope again.
