Chapter 4

Olivia seemed confused on what a Mafia boss was. "Is he a bad guy, Granny?" Olivia whispered over toward Ada.

Brex was caught off guard by them knowing this, but he figured someone would find out sooner or later.

He shrugged it off as if being a leader wasn't nothing important. Even if it wasn't a good thing.

"And if I was?" He got cocky a bit, but didn't show it in his voice nor facial expressions.

"Why does it concern you?" He added as he couldn't help but glance over at Olivia who was having a side conversation.

Who is she?, He thought.

He remembered how calm she was. No one ever took him serious, even with a gun to their foreheads.

His eyes caught sight of Ida staring at him, so he stared back. His bronze eyes becoming duller, almost to block her from seeing into his soul.

If he had one.

Ada smiled softly at her great grandchild And answered. "Aye, he is my little one. He is dangerous." She said holding up her large hands to Olivia signaling she wanted to play a game.

Ida looked at him as if the man Brex didn't know she was a goddess, THE goddess of judgement herself. The souls of any beings couldn't hide anything or lie to their trial of judgement.

The trial which would decide if they will die with a punishment then sent to hell or let live to die like a normal human and go to heaven.

Ida's eyes glowed as she kept her serious face , looking through him. "Zircon. Another question. Please. " She said knowing of what would be asked next. "Yes, your highness. Brex! The man who came to kill you at the park, the reveal you claim. Did you hate him because he took something from you, that was very dear to you? Thous, why you sent to kill his family but to hurt him even more, you killed his sister with your own hands while in front of his very eyes?" She asked  looking at Brex.

Brex didn't budge.

He dared smiled at Ida as he pealed his off Ida and onto Zircon.

"Oh? Something dear to me?" He said as if he was never asked that. He chuckled.

"Of course not. He did steal from me, yes, but nothing dear to me. These Earthly items, are too much." Brex seemed to have sighed as he got annoyed at the fact Ada had distracted Olivia.

What are they doing? He thought, annoyance leaking off his face, but he collected it.

I shouldn't care.

He added as he continues explaining, the smirk on his face appearing more strong as he felt Ida trying to pry open his soul and for him to spill out his hidden secrets.

"He was my mother's favorite.." Brex accidentally slipped out those words.

He loved his mother, but she was a whore. She favored others. Not her own son.

No. Not even him.

He is a very jealous person.

He didn't even realize he had assigned someone to kill the guy's family. He didn't even feel his own feet walk into the guy's room as he slung his sister to the ground before her brother.

The guy, his name was Steven. He begged Brex to spare his sister and take him instead.

Oh no.

He wasn't gonna be so nice. He made his sister look at Steven.

The silent scream from the girl was actually loud enough to out due the gunshot. Steven looked so broken. Desperate.

Everyone was gone. Steven's mother dead upstairs. Father bleed out in the chair.

He had begged Brex, which only annoyed him even more.

"I had no specific reason." Brex looked at Ada then back at Ida, then Zircon.

"Why do you ask so many questions? It's starting to get annoying. Can you just kill me already? You know I'm guilty of something. Might as well end this for yourself, right?"

Life (Ada) didn't mind his look as she played with Olivia and waved her little hands with hers. Ida looked at Brex as her looked soften, yet serious but a bit surprised.

Falling a bit in her trap of letting out a bit of truth. It was a way of Ida. She toyed with her souls before anything else.

"So Steven was a favorite of your mother's? Thous, angering you. Your mother had many guys to give her sugar, but why did this one bother you the most?" Zircon asked as Ida yawned  not meaning too.

Ada gave her sister a glare, which Ida wasn't affected by it.

Brex was silent. Too silent. He looked away from them all.

"I don't care about my mother." He rolled his eyes. He had lied. So badly it hurt him.

"I should have shot her myself after that park incident." He told them.

If he has to. Maybe his mother will finally see him.

Brex smiles at the thought.

"Just another rival." Brex shrugs it off, the dullness covering his soul now.

No more slip outs, Brex told himself.

You have too much to do. He adds.

"Can't I just do time or something? Your squeaky voice is quiet annoying." Brex looks at Zircon.

Olivia's eyes got bright. "Granny!! Can I?!" Olivia pointed at Brex.

Enoch growled. "You want time?" His voice harsh. Brex glares at Enoch.

Ida closed her eyes as a low growl escaped her as she stood up. Zircon looks up behind her nervously. "Your highness?"She asked afraid of the outcome.

"Everyone. This trial shall continue another day. I have more important things to attend too...this trail has bored me. Zircon. Get more information about this trial then you had today."

"If you had done so, then today would have been easy and much faster. I don't have time to pity on some human bug. A goddess like I want things done so I can get my work done as well. "She said in a serious tone as Ada gasped at such things said.

"How you dare say such things dearest of mine!" Ada told her.

Ida looked at her serious, thus, she sighed and walked off. "GUARDS!! Take this bug to his cage as he asked for time. I'll kill him later after my other work is done....EVERYONE DISMISSED!!" She shouted as she clapped her hands.

The soldiers then hit Brex hard, knocking him out as they took him away to lock him up. Ada looked worried, but changed as she heard Olivia ask of such a question. It reminded her Of Uzo when she asked the same question once before.

"Olivia? What are you asking?"she asked to be sure.

Before Olivia could finish asking, Enoch took Olivia roughly by the arm. "No. You shall not go save that pest. He's human. He nearly killed you!" Enoch's racing heart was stressing him so bad, he was about to pass out.

No.

She must stay safe.

I don't want to go through another funeral. God no. No no no nononono. His mind went.

Olivia frowned, winching at Enoch's tight grip. "Brother, dearest. He's got a soul too. He can change. I'll help hi-"

"No. You heard him. He said he'd kill his own mother. He even had the gun to your forehead... No..." Enoch backed away, his grip loosened, Enoch was about to transform.

No. No. He closed his eyes.

Olivia frowned at her brother.

No. She's concerned.

"Brother?" She asked.
Enoch walked away.

He was so tired. He needs sleep. He held his arm as he walked away.

But halfway out the door, his body shut down and his heavy weight made a thudding sound against the floor. Enoch was out like a light.

Olivia saw this. She seemed very worried. She looked away quickly before her body reset itself.

"Can I help granny?..." Olivia asked.

Everyone already left the room and did not notice Enoch falling. Ada got shocked as she saw Enoch fall but Ida appeared from outside.

She did not really leave, for she knew this would happen to Enoch. She picked him up and carried him off to the throne room to rest with her.

Ada sighed as Sparrow gave a pat on her shoulder. Giving a smile before leaving, Rory following after to go to Ida. Zircon sighed sadly as she felt like she failed at her job. She left without a word.

Ada looked down at Olivia and got on her knees.
