Chapter 63

Niccolo Knights

Dream or reality?

Which one was I in? If I was dreaming, I don't want to wake up. I want to stay asleep forever in this figment of fantasy. However, if this is reality, this would be the epiphany that will change my whole life.

But how would I know if it's either of them? I should pinch myself, that's the only way I can find out. But what if I was only dreaming and everything happened this week was just a part of it? I don't think I can bare to face the real situation when I woke up.

So I made up my mind to just continue this fantasy even if someone slaps--- PAK!

My eyes widened when I felt a sting on my left cheek. I blinked thrice and saw a very flushed Olivia in front of me.

"You're not in Dreamland." She said shyly but still managed to look me straight in the eye.

In there I saw the familiar softness and admiration I've been longing to see. Then in that split second, I realized that the former was not really it, but it is the love she has on me.

Olivia was often misjudged because of the hard shell she shows to people and how she carries herself as well as her status in the society.

Now when she showed you that kind of softness in her eyes, it doesn't mean she's being soft to you. It means that she loves you and you can see it whenever she's around with the people she loves. To her father, to Zac, to Jowee and Erin, to Jones and Lorna, to Jacinda and Belle, and to Dylan.

And now, to me. Although she's looked at me that way in the past, this was the first time I realized it. Damn, I really was an idiot.

Then I felt another sting on the other side of my cheek.

"When will you get this shock over with? My hand stung already for slapping you twice, Niccolo!" She said in irritation and shook me.

That's when it all sunk in to me. This is reality, I wasn't dreaming! This is real! I smiled widely and immediately hugged Olivia.

"Oh baby. This is real. I'm hugging you." I let out those words and looked at her smiling face.

"Can I kiss you again?" I asked and inched closer to her and she quickly avoided me.

"Nick, stop." She said and I took a step back from her. Geez, did I assume everything? Was I hallucinating only? Oh my God that's embarrassing.

I heard her sigh and clicked his tongue.

"Come here, you moron." I shifted my gaze to her and she was smiling widely while putting some shaving cream on her hand. I furrowed my brows because I was hella confused of what's happening at the moment.

She grabbed my arm and pulled me towards her and applied the cream on me then took the shaver and glide it onto my stubble. All throughout the process, I was only looking at her while thinking deeply if what happened earlier was real.

After she shaved me, she wiped my face with a warm towel. Then what happened next answered my question. She pulled my face down to hers and kissed me slowly. At first I didn't move but when she bit my lower lip, I synced my lips with her.

Now I can taste again the sweetness that I've been craving for and feel the warmth again when kissing her. Oh how I miss this woman.

When I felt her arms circled around my neck, I copied her by encircling mine to her waist and pulled her closer to me. This is what happiness feels like and I was so dumb to throw it away over some misunderstanding.

In this kiss, I poured everything, my regrets, me missing her, happiness, my love towards her, and most especially, my promise. My promise to her that I will never ever repeat the same mistakes to her and that I will make her happy for the rest of our life.

After a couple of minutes, we pulled away from each other as we needed air. I rested my forehead to hers while my eyes were still closed. Our pants and heavy breathing were the only sound you can hear in the room, I wonder if she can hear the rapid beating of my heart.

Her hand held my cheek and I opened my eyes. I saw her looking at me intensely and I smiled while pulling away myself slightly from her.

"This is real, right? My mind's not playing games on me, right?" I asked desperately and she chuckled and pushed me lightly so she can jump down from the sink and stood in front of me.

"Does your cheeks stung from my slaps?" She asked while caressing both of my cheeks and I nodded.

"Then it's real." She answered me and wiggled slightly my face with her hands.

"Can you say it again?" I asked her.

"Say what?" She raised both of her brows.

"That you love me." I answered and cupped her face.

"I only say those words once, Mr. Knights." She said playfully and pushed me out of the bathroom.

"Mr. Knights? Olivia stop calling me that. I don't---"

"Get out. I'm taking a bath. We'll be leaving in 30 mins...Mr. Knights." She said in a teasing tone and shut the door in front of me.

I sighed and smiled widely because now she's beginning to be back at her old self and now we're beginning to be back to where we left off.

I was sitting on the living room when Olivia emerged. She was wearing a yellow sweatshirt, leggings, and her Chanel beige espadrilles. She was putting her hair into a ponytail while she's struggling to hold her beige Hermés Constance bag.

I took it as a cue to help her with her bag. Honestly, I liked holding her bags whenever she forgets about it or when her hands were occupied especially when she's carrying Dylan or her needing my help just like now. For me it means that she's trust me, not because I won't take her stuff but because she knows that I will always be there for her.

When I neared her, she automatically handed her bag at me and I smiled because the habit is still there.

When she's done tying her hair, she took her bag from me and she smiled as well as thanked me. Before she can took a step, I snaked my arm around her waist and kissed her cheek. She looked at me and just rolled her eyes playfully.

On our way to the grocery store, the car was engulfed by comfortable silence between us and Olivia's softly humming to the music played by the radio. I took a glance at her, she was looking out the window peacefully so I intertwined my hand with hers. She looked at our hands together and raised her brows.

"You're beginning to get touchy, huh." She commented.

"I've been yearning for this for quite a long time. Now that we're kinda okay and starting to get back to where we left off, expect my clinginess." I kissed the back of her palm.

"Who told you we're okay?" She asked and I quickly took a glance at her.

"We're not?"

"We're not." She affirmed and parked my car on the sidewalk. I faced her and held her shoulders.

"We just kissed again awhile ago and you already said that you love me."

"But that doesn't mean we're okay, my love. Now let's go." She said with a teasing tone and used an authoritative tone on the latter part.

"But Olivia..."

"Niccolo, drive for God's sake!" She snapped and I sighed.

"If only I don't love you." I mumbled.

"What?" She asked

"I love you, Olivia." I answered her and navigated the road while holding her hand again.

In the grocery store, I stuck myself to her like a kid who's afraid to be left out by her mother. I held her in an arms length but she's not happy about it. She kept on clicking her tongue whenever she gets so irritated by what I was doing. However, I can see it in her eyes that she's enjoying herself and that she's okay with what I was doing with her.

On my way to the pasta station, I saw her comparing the two pasta by reading their labels at the back. I back hugged her and rested my chin on her shoulder. She got startled and looked at me.

"Relax, my love. It's just me." I kissed her cheek and she clicked her tongue.

"Nick, I told you to stop it. We're in public." She reprimanded me and tried to shook me but I tightened my hug even more.

"You told me before that I am your Koala so, I'm just doing my job." I said and inhaled her scent.

She sighed and shook her head.

"You're hopeless." She said in irritation but I knew that she's being playful.

"Only for you, my love." I replied and tickled her a little. She warned me about causing trouble to some shoppers but I didn't care so I gave her a peck on her lips.

"Fancy seeing you two so happy!" We heard a bitter feminine voice from behind. We turned around and saw Cassandra. My playful state instantly became protective and serious so I blocked Olivia from her reach.

"Cassandra." I acknowledged her in a dark tone. She's pushing a cart full of groceries.

"I'm surprised you still can afford to buy this much." I snickered.

"I have savings, Nick, and I have other jobs which you can't track." She winked at me.

I scoffed.

"Like pimping yourself every night to some rich men out there."

"Well, if you want to be my client, you know how to reach me. For you, I'll lower down my rate." She stalked towards me and was about to reach my face when Olivia pushed her hand harshly away from me and stood in front of me.

"Get away from Niccolo, Cassandra, and don't you dare touch him with your filthy hands." Olivia spat and Cassandra just chuckled.

"Okay, fine. I won't touch him if you say so." She smiled sweetly at us and walked away.

That's it? She won't aggravate Olivia? Woah, that's peculiar.

Olivia then glared at me and walked away leaving me and the cart.

When we got to her apartment, we unloaded the groceries and put them in their designated stash. After that, we ate the Chinese takeout we bought after we check out.

Since we saw Cassandra, Olivia became silent and seems like she's in deep thought. When I looked at her, she was just playing with her food so I took it as a chance to ask her what's bothering her.

"What's bothering you?" I asked softly. She looked at me with her brows furrowed and took a deep breathe.

"D-did you do something to Cassandra?" She asked in confusion. I rounded the counter and sat beside her.

"Promise me that you won't get mad at me." Her frown deepened when I told her that and when she realized that I was waiting for her agreement, she nodded slowly.

I told her everything I knew about Cassandra, from her being the one spreading fake news about her, to her hiring someone to stalk her, and her being Rebecca's cousin. Then I told her what I did to her, that I influenced Sanjay to fire her as well as other companies to not hire her because of her scandalous nature.

After explaining everything to her, her expression went from shock, to disbelief, to confusion, and settled to anger.

Uh-oh. She's mad. I knew it she'll be mad at me for doing what I did to Cassandra. Knowing Olivia, she doesn't like these kinds of acts.

When I cleared my throat, she glared at me.

"Olivia... I kno---" she cut me off by kissing me passionately. It caught me off guard so I didn't respond immediately to her kisses until she bit my lower lip.

When we pulled away from each other, she sat on my lap and circled her arms around my neck.

"Thank you, Niccolo. Thank you for looking out for me even though we were in a bad situation that time." She said lovingly.

"That's the least I can do for you, Olivia. I was a dick for believing everything she fed me so it's just right for me to be the one to stop her. I'm so sorry baby for what I did. I promise I won't do it again. I promise to love, trust, believe, and protect you for the rest of my life." I promised to her and cupped her face.

She smiled at me and leaned her forehead to mine.

"Don't make any promises if you're going to break it, Mr. Knights." She said calmly but I can feel the seriousness lacing in her voice. Her eyes speak of seriousness too.

"I told you, I won't repeat my mistakes. Losing you was the death of me. When Zac ordered to hide all of your tracks to me and I couldn't find you, it made me realize how much of a stupid idiot I was to let go of my heart. I love you so much Olivia, you are my life, if I hurt you again, it would mean I was hurting myself and Dylan." I said sincerely at her.

I noticed her blush again so I caressed her cheek with my palm.

"But you shouldn't have done it to Cassandra, Nick. Getting her fired from Sanjay's company was more than enough. But making her jobless for the rest of her life, it's beyond unreasonable." She said and took a sit from her stool facing me.

"She ruined us, Olivia. She deserved what I did to her." I said in anger.

"Still, she didn't deserve it. I may hate her but I never once wish nor think of her being jobless. She's an intelligent, hard working, and passionate woman when it comes to her work. It's a waste of talent if no one could utilize her intelligence. So please, rescind your acts towards her." She explained but I frowned.

She then stood in between my thighs and cupped my cheeks.

"Nick, she doesn't deserve it. In fact, what she did was very helpful to us. She made us realized what's lacking in our relationship. Now that we learned and rectified our mistakes, she just made our relationship stronger, you know." She reasoned out and I hate to admit it, she's right, if it wasn't Cassandra, the invisible barrier in our relationship was now broken.

"So you're telling me that we're now back together?" I said to her when I realized what she just said.

"I didn't say anything." She frowned and looked around but me. Then she tried to walk out but I halted her by trapping her in between while hugging her.

"You just did. You said that she just made our relationship stronger." I smiled widely and she pushed me gently.

"I didn't say anything. Get off me." She tried to get out from my hold but I stood up and towered over her.

"I heard what you said, my love. I heard it clearly. So that means, you and I are back together now. You're my girlfriend again, Olivia!" I said and excitedly and happily but she just rolled her eyes.

"Believe whatever you want to believe. I didn't say any---" I cut her off by smashing my lips to hers. I poured every feeling I have to her, love, regrets, apologies, happiness, and longing.

I lifted her from the ground and she circled her legs around my torso. I sat her on the counter and she pulled me closer by her legs. We both poured everything in this kiss. I traveled my lips to her neck and kissed her there. She moaned when I hit the sweet spot and laid down on the counter.

Then I went back to kiss her lips and my hands traveled all over her body. She gripped my hair and moaned when I licked her the sides of her jaw and caressed her bare stomach.

"Nick." She moaned my name when I squeezed her bosom lightly. I can still feel her soft skin under her brassiere.

She lifted herself from the counter and undressed me from my shirt.

"I love you, Olivia." I mumbled and looked her in the eye.

"I love you, Niccolo." She replied and we continued.

"No fucking way!" We pulled away from each other when we heard a very shocked feminine voice. We looked at the source and we saw a very shocked Erin and Jowee.

Olivia gasped.

"What the fuck are you two doing here?" She asked while I helped her get down from the counter then she tossed my shirt to me.

I quickly put it on and put my arm around Olivia's shoulder.

"We're here to visit you. To check up on you if you're okay." Jowee replied and smirked. "And you're more than okay."

"But you could've rang the doorbell." Olivia panted.

"No ones opening it so we went in instead." Erin said.

"I might not be here, you know."

"Jones told us that your here. We thought that you were sleeping. Oh, we brought pizza, by the way." Jowee said and put the box of pizza on the counter and sat on one of the stools in front of us.

"I want to get mad seeing you here" Jowee pointed at me and continued, "but when we heard that you two exchanging I love yous, I guess we have to hear how you two become one again." She opened the box of pizza while Erin took a piece and munched it nonchalantly.

"Come on. Tell us. Stop staring at us." Erin said.

Olivia sighed and pulled me to sit on one of the stools then started telling everything.
