Chapter 8: The Pain

Again, many years had passed, I had been tortured and beaten. I had been starved and smacked, but they could get no answer out of me other than that Tanya was gone. I couldn't tell them anything because I didn't know. And they didn't believe me. I missed Abuz, his cheerful presence had always been there, and I missed Tanya though she had been gone for years, even though I was glad that Dragon's Fire couldn't get her, or any of the others. And even though it had been years I clung to a shred of hope that someone, someone, would come looking for me.

At the moment I was strapped to a machine which was coursing electricity through my body. I pretended to be in intense pain, which I had grown quite skilled at, though honestly, this machine didn't hurt anymore. None of the machines did, they were all the same and I'd managed to build up enough pain resistance to ignore them. Jason, as he was named, shut off the machine, his eyes cold. "You going to tell the truth now?" He growled. "I-I t-t-told y-you the t-t-t-truth." I said through the crocodile tears that filled my eyes. "NO YOU'RE NOT!!!" He shouted, putting the machine on maximum voltage. "EEEEEAAAKKK!!!!" This time the scream was real, the tears were sincere, and my body was coursing with pain.

He shut it off quickly, realizing that it could kill me if I went through it too long. "Now spit it out, liar." He said again, emotionlessly. "I-i told you..." I whimpered. He sighed. Here we go again...

Okay, it had been years. Now I guessed Wisp was in some serious trouble so I was breaking down. I was going to find her, and I was going to help. But I needed to bring more than myself. If something got Wisp, it was trouble. Time to head to Fairy Tail.

It was a fairly normal day at the guild hall, except for one thing, everyone was there. It was a guild party tonight and only Gildarts ever missed a guild party. "Hey Charle?" I asked the white exceed by my side. "What are we celebrating again?" "Its Natsu-san's birthday, Wendy, remember?" Charle prodded. "Ooooh, yeeah!" I said.

I walked up to Mira at the bar. "Mira-san?" I ask, trying to get her attention, because she was looking at Lucy-nee and Natsi-nii in her funny way. I failed. "Mira-san~!" Apparentally Lucy was sick or something because her cheeks were bright red, and Natsu was laughing, which only made it worse. "MIRA-SAN!!!" I yelled in her ear.

I tried again, this time without yelling, but waved my hand in front of her face. "Huh, what is it Wendy-chan?" She asked, and I sighed, did she not notice at all? "Could I get some of your special sleep potion again, I'm dreaming about the strange lady again..." I requested. "Sure! Will you tell me more about it?" She said, and I nodded. "I'm in a dark place, and there's a silhouette of a person saying, Help me, Help me, and stuff," I say, and she nods, but as she turned to get a potion the doors banged open and a figure stood in the doorway. He had in a traveling cloak with the hood up but he seemed friendly. The cloak was a dark blue, kinda like Mystogan's. He stood there, obviously waiting.

"Sorry Wendy-chan, hold on a sec." Said Mira and I nodded. She walked over to the figure. They talked for a second, and then Mira spoke, "Of course, follow me!" He nodded, thankfully then froze, his eyes on me. "W-would you happen to be named Wendy, miss?" He asked politely. I nodded, slowly. "Whatcha want with Wendy!" Said Natsu, who flung himself at the cloaked man, knocking him to the ground which caused his hood to fall off. "Doranbolt?" Most of the guild exclaimed. He looked just like him, his black spiky hair, his facial features, but something was off... "Nah," he said, smiling, with a mischievous gleam in his black eyes. "Just his brother."
