Chapter 7: Should've listened while she was there

When I awoke I sensed that it had been no normal force that kept me asleep. I immediately knew from the air it had been at least a week, maybe as much as a month. I also realized, the part of my mind where Tanya's consciousness stayed, it was empty, filled with nothing but my own thoughts. This is my own fault. I thought to myself. I shouldn't have become so obvious. I should have listened to Tanya while she was still there. Ugh, why is life so complicated...

I moved slightly and opened my eyes, I was in a magic containment room, a cold grey color with a metal door. I was on a small cot that was tucked into a corner. I had a metal ring around my ankle that was attached to a chain fastened in the center of the room. The chain and metal ring were obviously magic dispelling, then I realized that I wasn't alone.

"So you're awake," said another new voice. "We do apologize for your poor treatment." I glared at the person across the room. "You knocked me out but I don't have amnesia." I grunted, rather rudely, but I didn't care. The boy looked about my age, a little older. He had messy blue hair and deep blue eyes. He wore white clothing with light armor over too of it. He scoffed. "Spunky, aren't ya?" He laughed, and not for the first time, I glared. If looks could kill... so cliche. But, oh well, If looks could kill, he'd be dead. "Lets see how long you'll keep it." I glared at him. "I dunno, maybe until the pigs start flying." He grunted. "Then they better start learning." I rolled my eyes.

"Where am I." I asked him, shortly, oh did I mention that when I'm captured I have short tempered... duh. "Oh, forgive me." He said, blatantly. "Welcome to Dragon's Fire. A guild which aims to destroy the treacherous magic council with the help of a dragon." I looked at him strangely. "What does this have to do with me?" I asked. "Well," he replied. "Everything. We need you because you have been merged with the heart of a dragon. And this dragon heart can tell us where the real thing is."

In my head I asked Tanya if this was true, but no answer, it was like she was... gone. In fact the last thing I'd heard from her had been almost a whisper and last week. 'The dragons have gone into hiding.' This could possibly be the end of the dragons...

Though it was hard, I had managed to defeat the hundred armed one with the shinning sword, by myself, which is what Wisp would have wanted, it had been a year since I had seen here. The Shinning sword a legendary sword that I could just grab from its pedestal when I needed it, Wisp often laughed at the hilarity of it all. It was in an ancient temple with many traps so I had a great security system.

I had grown worried and restless though. Wisp should have contacted me by now, searching for Wendy or now... I had grown suspicious something may have happened, but she wouldn't like me intruding. She us insistent on being self reliant. All the same, I couldn't help but worry. I loved her... and I always would...
