Hoshi is a 15 year old who lives on the small Japanese island of Miyake (It's a made up place). She is an orphan who goes to Miyake Public High. To find out more about her past and to save the island she follows the 'trail of stars'. She's quiet, shy, introvert, who loves stargazing. Her friends are Mizuki, Amaterasu, and Sora, who accompany her on the 'trail of stars'.

Mizuki is a 16 year old who lives on Miyake. She is an orphan like Hoshi and they are very close friends. She goes to Miyake High with Hoshi and travels with her on the 'trail of stars'. She is quiet, shy, loves moongazing, and is very much an introvert. She is friends with Hoshi, Amaterasu, and Sora.

Amateratsu is a 16 year old who lives on Miyake. She lives in a foster home with her foster parents and brother, and attends Miyake High. She is a happy, bubbly, sparkly, extroverted girl who loves to learn about the sun and dreams to be able to look at it without eye damage. Friends with Hoshi, Mizuki, Sora, and comes with them on the 'trail of stars' hoping to find more about her past.

Sora is a 15 year old who lives in Miyake. She is happy, sparkly, and yet somewhat a reserved extrovert. She loves watching the sky and goes with her friends Hoshi, Mizuki, and Amaterasu on the 'trail of stars'.
