Chapter 4: The Journey Begins [Edited]

When we woke up in the morning, we smiled at each other, raced outside to to the lake, and dried off, as I had retrieved my bag of belongings from the tree. Once we had finished we went inside and happily ate our Tomato and Oran berry slices for breakfast. Soon we were happily on our way to school.

"Well, then," I joked. "Shall we go and save Ripple from the girls of fan, Daisy?" (STARFIRE REFERENCE) She smiles at the joke. "Oh, I don't know, should we?" I grin. "Hm, I dunno, what will we get in reward...?" I grin devilishly. She laughs and laughs, then wipes her eyes with her paws. "Oh, gosh Crys, Nooooo! NOOO!"

I just smile. "Well, looks like it is time for us to become Heroines!" Daisy nods, "Should I, or you?" She asks. "Hmmm, I'll do it!" I grin. "WHAT? THE CAFETERIA IS HAVING A 50% OFF SALE ON PECHA CAKES!!!" All the fan girls run as fast as they can towards the cafeteria, leaving a worn looking Ripple. Daisy and I laughed our heads off, as he rolled his eyes and we walked into class together.

I sat down in my usual seat and immediately Fang ran up to me. "Fang? What are you doing here? Aren't you in the Beginners section?" (School is separated into Beginners School (1-2 years), Mediocre School (1-2 years), and Leaving Prep (about 1 week) with 3 month summers between. I just oogled at me and leapt onto me, crying.

I toppled out of my seat and embraced him like Mom had hugged me when I was little. "I w-was s-s-so worried about you!" he said, still crying. I looked at him, confused and slightly taken aback. "Why? Did something happen?" I asked him. He took some deep breaths, and snuggled deeper into my neck fur.

"Yeah..." he muttered. "When dad threw you out, he acted like nothing happened, but then, yesterday, he decided he needed to hunt you down! I don't know what he'd do if you got you, but it wouldn't be good!" He admitted. My brow furrowed and I hugged him tighter, beckoning to Daisy with my tail.

"What is it?" Daisy asked as she came over. "It seems that my father has decided to come looking for me!" I said dryly. "Yaaaaay...." She nodded. "I guess it's a good thing we decided to move up-" I shut her up by covering her mouth with my paw. "Shhh!" I hissed gesturing to Fang. Her eyes widened with surprise and she quickly gave me a sympathetic and apologetic glance. "Uhm, move up our work on battle moves!"

Fang glared up at me. "Come on, Crys, I know what she was going to say, I'm not stupid." He stressed. "And I want to come with you, I don't wanna stay with dad when he's acting all mean!" I looked from him to Daisy, and back to him again, unsure what to say. "Well-" Daisy was stopped by the Evacuation Alarm going off. (We have Fire Alarms, but when they need to Evacuate for any reason, the Evacuation Alarm goes off) We looked at each other and ran out of the school, finding Ripple along the way.

As we were exiting the school yard we heard a large explosion, the force of the explosion pushed us forward a few feet. As I got up, on slightly shaky legs, I looked to see what had caused the explosion. Above what remained of the school was a Tyranitar. Suddenly, in place of the Tyranitar was a murkrow. My eyes widening I helped the others to their paws and we continued running.

We kept running until we were safely in Daisy's home. Together, we decided that the four of us would leave as soon as we got our stuff. Thankfully it wasn't all that different from when we were planning on leaving, but still. We separated to go pack up what we could and met up at Daisy's again as soon as possible. "Ready to go?" I asked the others once we were all back at Daisy's house. "Yup!" said Daisy excitedly. "As ready as I'll ever be..." sighed Ripple. "Then let's go!" Fang said as I nodded in agreement, and we turned our back on the town. Little did we know how long it would be before we got to come back. How little we know...
