Chapter 3: Ripple [Edit]
Almost too soon I was in homeroom. I was one of the first ones in, thank goodness I wasn't almost late, so I sat in my seat and worked on the science homework that I hadn't finished last night, thanks to my father. Thankfully, I had grabbed my homework along with the TMs that I had before I left the house, and I'd finished all my other homework at home, but I needed to get this paper done. Ms. Shru the Shrubbish was a good teacher, but you always wanted to get her assignments done. Soon, Daisy came in looking worried, just as I finished the last question. "Good morning!" I greeted her with a small smile. "Where were you this morning?" she hissed, softly so only I heard. "When Fang came out of the tree alone I thought you were sick!" I smiled sheepishly. "Well, about that... Um, father kicked me out of the house?"
Her eyes went wide. "WHAT!" She practically screeched, attracting stares from our fellow classmates. I put my paw over her mouth before she could say more and looked at the others apologetically. Then, I turned my glare on her. "Daisy!" I hissed. "Not so loud!" "Sorry!" she hissed back. "But why didn't you tell me?!? Why didn't you come over last night! My parents wouldn't have minded!"
I shrugged. "I ended up sleeping in a tree, apparently close enough to where Ripple lives for him to notice. He woke me up with a pebble to the face..." I whinned. "It was meeeeean!" She rolled her eyes. "You drama qu- Wait a second, Ripple! As in THE Ripple!" Now it was my turn to roll my eyes. "Yes, THE Ripple. He really isn't all that special, you know. He talks with his mouth full and all that just like the rest of us."
"On the topic of mouth fulls, if you slept in a tree, did you get any breakfast?" Daisy asked, worriedly. My stomach growled in response. "That a good enough answer for ya?" I deadpanned. She rolled her eyes and pulls an Oran Berry out of her bag. "Here, you're lucky I packed extra!" I smiled and took it from her. "Thanks... I don't know what I'd do without you!" She snorted. "A whole lotta nothin' that's what!" We laughed, and I ate the Oran Berry.
I went throughout the school day, and together Ripple and I managed to finally master Hidden Power. As Daisy, Ripple, the Fangirls..., and I walk to homeroom, I tell them what happened. Both Daisy and Ripple were sympathetic. Ripple admitted that he had no clue who his parents were, and his grandfather had passed a few seasons ago. Daisy admitted that she only had her mother named Shimmer the Glaceon and younger sister Spark the Shinx, that her father had left them years ago.
Together we decided that we would leave early, for several reasons. The first of which was that we saw no reason to stay any longer, and the second was that Ripple, Daisy, and I, but mostly Ripple, don't need any fangirls following us on our way to find a new home.
We also decided I would stay with Daisy that night and help her convince her mother to let her leave early, and we would leave in one or two days. When Daisy and I got to her house and asked her mother what she thought of our plan, we were nervous, but there was no need. Shimmer completely understood and agreed with the idea, and even offered to help! So, we would just need one more day... One more day and then we could leave.
