Summary:

ASPEN BANE IS MUTE.

But that does not make her weak.

She is an old friend of the blonde bartender and psych major, Camille, and although warned many times from past relatives that New Orleans is a dangerous place, she goes anyway, because Aspen does what she wants, what she feels necessary, and going to New Orleans seemed necessary at the time.

Upon getting to know the old town, Aspen gets involved in some interesting situations that involve a certain group of Original vampires, and a war that has just begun.

Along the way, Aspen will get closer to a certain noble Original, who has more demons, and is more fragile than he lets on. So, through the chaos of spilled blood, family bonds, and wars that can only end in destruction, maybe a mute girl with a warrior's soul can help save a nobleman with a moral sense of kindness, can help a mute girl with a dark past, and darker secrets left unopened.

But, as Aspen Bane may be a broken mute,

That's what makes her strong.

THIS STORY IS SO FREAKING FANTASTIC, OMF!! While I was looking through the suggestions, your story popped up and I was curious with the title. So I clicked on it and I read all of the chapters available and fell in love! I love the idea of a mute AU character and I love that Elijah is the love interest! This story is honestly beautiful! Aspen seems very badass(admit it, we all love badass female characters) and our noble original who has a fetish with suits needs some real love. I love that even though she's a mute, she is strong. I've never seen that in a story where someone is mute and strong, to me that's very original. Aspen is a well written character, she's honestly so strong and amazing. This is an amazing story, I hope you continue it! Lots of love from yours truly;)

elijah is seriously one of my favourite originals so i was really excited to read this story. i absolutely love LOVE the idea of the plot - it's super unique and it made me extremely intrigued to start reading; i was not let down at all. in fact, i was even more drawn in by the beautiful writing - i honestly envy your skills so much and aspen's characterization and everything is absolutely amazing; despite being mute, she has shown to be an incredible badass & i can't wait to read more of her story(-:
