Part 8

Minecraft set built and designed by @Flourid3 and Me <3

Earlier...

Doc stepped out from the maze of alleyways that littered the city. The dozens of crevices and sectors were a quick and convenient way to get around, allowing the out of place cyborg to move from place to place. He turned into a stairwell, the case slowly winded upwards and out to the top floor of the building. The building was an abandoned apartment complex. All of its interior has probably been burned in a fire that no one bothered to fix because the building was completely charred. The only thing that kept Doc there was the fact that the structure itself was still intact. The cyborg stepped onto the stable wood floor of his base. He had managed to make the top floor(which was one of the only floors in a decent condition) into a decent space. In the center of the room there was a gray leather couch, which he had gotten from one of the many alleys. Doc had no idea why someone would toss a perfectly good couch, but it worked out both of them. In another corner there was a kitchen he had managed to smack together. It didn't have a lot of the normal kitchen things, but it had a mini fridge so that counted. On a table however was all of Doc's tools and resources. Before becoming a Mangled Villain, Doc had been very much into robotics. So ending up as a cyborg was pretty covenant. The table was covered with metal pieces, tools, and other various parts. Not enough to construct an entire body part, but enough to build a few small bombs. Doc looked back to the door, his robotic hand twisting the knob and locking the door in place.

"Nice to see you came home Doccy," a voice said. Doc's eyes widened in shock at the sudden voice. The cyborg took a step forward, turning to see where this new comer was. There in the broken window, was a face, or well...half a face, for the left side of it was covered by a stained dog skull. The figure stepped down, the shadows letting go of its grip on the man. Doc scowled.

"What do you want, Canem." Doc stared at the man in shock. The man, no, the Villain standing before him was Canem Messorm(Meaning Dog Reaper). His old partner smiled back at Doc,

"Aww come on dude, no need for titles. Just Ren my dude." Ren...no, Canem said as he stepped deeper in the room. Doc's metal hand began to twitch. Canem's grin grew as he noticed Doc's annoyed state. "I haven't seen you in a while, especially since you left me to die what about... 2 years ago?" He paused, looking at Doc with cold dead eyes. "I can see you aren't doing so well." Doc's eye narrowed.

"Nice to see you're still stealing my style." Doc said in a joking tone, his human hand gesturing to his torn robotic half face. Canem stopped for a second, before flicking the end of the decaying dog skull that sat on his face.

"I pull it off better." Canem said, his voice becoming quite cocky. "I'm surprised you're not alarmed to see me alive." Canem's smile faded.

"You were crushed by tons of rock and concrete, it takes a lot more than that to kill you." Doc said, the memory of watching his partner, his best friend being crushed due to a failed job. This thing in front of him, was not that partner.

"True, but due to the object we were paid to retrieve, I've become stronger than ever." Canem lifted his hand, from his palm a strange substance rose and wrapped around his fingers. "I can do more with the Void Crystal than those Concorp idiots could ever do." Doc tensed up.

"The Void Crystal, but you died on that mission!"

"I would've, since you left me there to die." Canem's facial expression changed as he snapped. "It seems I can't trust anyone with my life, the crystal is what saved me and I barely got out" It seemed like the shadows were being pulled off the walls, the dark silhouettes morphing into a large claw. "Now perhaps I could forgive and forget. Or perhaps LuxSheild would be a better way to take my rage out, since you seem to hate him so much." Canem smirked sarcastically. Doc couldn't handle it anymore, Canem had gone too far. The Cyborg flung his hand forward, he tried to get a hold of Canem's body but when nothing grabbed Doc began to panic. Canem was a hollow shell... and Doc could only control living matter. Doc quickly dodged to the side as the claw slammed down onto the decaying floor. Doc ran towards the table, quickly grabbing the few completed explosives that laid on the surface. He spun around and threw them at the undead Villain. Canem moved his arm forward, swinging the claw down in front of him. The two locked eyes. One of them was going to lose, and Doc wasn't going to let it be him.(I can't write fight scenes ;3 there might be more in the future tho)

Mumbo stared at the broken and defeated villain in front of him. The tall cyborg sat in an awkward silence on one of the stools in Mumbo's small workshop. There were no actual chairs in the room anyway due to the fact Mumbo wasn't a big fan of big chairs. The backs and arms of them limited movement and for someone who had to reach around to get to different tools it was quite the annoyance. When The Mangler had yanked him from the street, he demanded Mumbo help him repair his arm. Mumbo on the other hand was practically screaming because he couldn't say no. Curse you Hermit Challenges. So now he was here, having to be a freaking butler for a super villain. The Mangler's face was full of anger and tiredness as he stared over at the empty arm socket where his metal arm was supposed to be. The actual arm torn to shreds on Mumbo's work desk.

(Edited this scene to make the next chapter make more sense) Mumbo stared at the broken and defeated villain in front of him. The tall cyborg sat in an awkward silence on one of the stools in Mumbo's small workshop. (There were no actual chairs in the room anyway due to the fact Mumbo wasn't a big fan of big chairs. The backs and arms of them limited movement and for someone who had to reach around to get to different tools it was quite the annoyance). Along with the mutilated arm, the villain had patched up multiple scars and had many bruises(which added to all of the cyborg's previous scars perfectly).

"So am I going to get to know how you ended up flirting with death?...sir." The mechanic asked. The Mangler looked up at him with an annoyed eye.

"I did not flirt with death...I was attacked by someone and he tore my arm off." He scowled. "So really I DANCED, with death." The Manglers gaze shifted from Mumbo to Kubo. The blond fluff ball of a dog happily chewed on his plush toy of a spoon, completely ignoring the maniac that was currently staring at him. Why couldn't Mumbo be Kubo right now. Mumbo turned back to the dismantled arm in front of him, digging into its complex gears. He had never seen anything like this.

"Did you build this sir?" He said, lifting part of the arm closer to his face. The Mangler looked away from Kubo.

"Yes...Though I didn't have the parts to repair it. Now will you stop asking me questions." He groaned, his black eye staring right at him. Mumbo felt a shiver run up his spine as he quickly set the arm down and went to retrieve a screwdriver.

"Yes sir."

"Why do you keep saying sir?"

"I was...challenged to become a...b u t l e r for the first person I encountered...which was...you." Mumbo stuttered. The Mangler just awkwardly stared at him as the realization hit him.

"So your...my Butler."

"Y E S," The two stood in silence until the Mangler began to laugh. Mumbo has never heard the villain laugh. Well the times the villain would be fighting LuxShield he would laugh but a genuine laugh was something he didn't expect from the guy. The Mangler rubbed his eye and sat back up with a smile.

"That's the stupidest thing ever!" He laughed. Mumbo let out a chuckle as he took in this new side of the villain.

"I couldn't agree more." He said. The Mangler stood up and picked a wrench off of the table.

"I'll work on this." He stated. "I know the build more." Mumbo nodded and took a step back.

"Anything I could do for you sir?" Mumbo asked. The Mangler looked around, his face a lot less threatening.

"Just...sit with your dog or something-" The Mangler said. Mumbo nodded, happy to not do something he would hate. The spoon plopped down next to Kubo who greeted him with a happy bark. "Wait no..there is something." The Mangler said. Mumbo's eyes widened. Oh no. "Could you get some coffee."

"Oh..that's simple enough. What do you want?" Mumbo asked.

"It's not for me, it's for someone else."

Present...

Bdubs sat back down onto the couch, his eyes looking down into the conspicuous coffee cup. This had to be from the Mangler right. Bdubs stared at the dark decently tasting liquid, his mind racing.

"Why would the guy I'm supposed to be fighting give me coffee?" He thought aloud. Maybe it was to lower his guard? To throw him off? Poison?! Bdubs slapped his face with one hand.

"Oh come on, how come I didn't think of poison!" He scowled as he quickly slid the cup onto the small side table. The cup wobbled as it hit the wood, coming to a stop by one of the plant pots. Hold on, if the Mangler really wanted his 'game' to continue he wouldn't poison him right in the beginning. Bdubs felt better now with the hope that what he just drank wasn't poison. He sat for a second until he felt his phone buzz. He grabbed it from his back pocket, watching as new texts popped up onto the screen. He was about to read them when the device clicked off. He never charged it last night. Bdubs groaned in annoyance and set the device down. He put his hands together and when he pulled them apart, a small energy orb formed. He moved the orb over to the phone and the instant it touched the device, it clicked back on. In the top corner it read '100%.' One of the best things about his power was being able to charge things, a simple task but oh was it convenient. He typed in the password and began reading the messages he was sent. It was a news link sent by Scar, it read, 'ConCorp gets passed down from Father to son.' Under the link everyone was happily talking and congratulating and celebrating the news. Bdubs tried to remember what this could be about, when he read a message, 'Congrats Cub!' It then clicked into his mind what this was all about. Cub was inheriting his fathers company today! Scar had become very close friends with Cub over the past few years... Scar said after how he was gonna meet up with Cub and have a congratulations lunch if anyone could make it. Bdubs without a second thought replied with a simple 'Yes.' He stared down at the phone. Guess he was going to a celebration lunch. Bdubs scrolled back through the texts. The lunch was at 10:15. "That's in 20 minutes!?" Bdubs realized. He jumped up and ran to the balcony window. He threw the door open and pulled down his bandana. He couldn't get there in time, but maybe LuxShield could. As he jumped off the balcony, Bdubs couldn't help feeling a weird presence. In his rush he ignored it, he had lunch to get too.

Took me so long to put all of these ideas into words, but I finally did it!

Canem aka Villain Ren Art- Some of y'all chose Ren to be a Villain in the story and  it was super fun to design and making such a fantastic and loving hermit show us his dark side ;3
