Reader is the turtles' younger sibling. They were adopted by Splinter when she was a baby, and since they're human, they've spent most of her early years being bigger than her brothers. This means they don't realize how delicate they can be until they get injured during one of their missions. While they're recovering, they try to do things on their own, only for their brothers to stop them and insist on doing everything for them.

Turtles & Little Sibling Reader

The four turtles stared in awe at the human Splinter had just brought home- aka, you. You weren't even a year old, all wrapped up in a blanket, just as Splinter had found you resting in a box, alone and vulnerable, definitely starving. It was a miracle he was able to soothe your crying.

"Oh! Oh! Can they play ball with us?!" Raph exclaimed excitedly, already getting ready to run off and find his needed equipment.

"No, my son," the rat man chuckled as you wrapped your little fingers around his own. "They aren't even able to walk yet, let alone run around, playing those sorts of games with you!"

"What?! But they're so big!" Mikey exclaimed, staring at you with awe. "They're bigger than me!"

"Humans are very different from mutants like ourselves. They are much more delicate." Splinter sat down on the couch with you in his lap. The turtles all crowded around you, looking down at your fragile form as their father continued to speak. "You must promise to protect the, under all circumstances. Understood?"

All the turtles looked at each other, as if having a silent conversation with each other. Smiles appeared on their faces as they eagerly nodded at their father. "We promise!"

About twelve years had passed since you were taken in, and all of you had grown so much since then. You were still quite a bit taller than Mikey, barely taller than Donnie, around the same height as Leo, and Raph towered over all of you.

As you grew up and your brothers began taking you up to the surface more often, Splinter would always warn them to take care of you and make sure you didn't get into too much trouble.

"He treats you like you're made of glass!" Leo exclaimed as he hopped from one rooftop to another. He looked back to see you and the rest of his brothers close behind.

"C'mon, humans can't be that delicate, can they?" Mikey questioned, looking up at you. "I mean, you've been bigger than most of us for most of our lives! Lucky..."

You let out a laugh as Mikey puffed out his cheeks. He really was quite salty that you were taller than him despite the fact that you were the youngest out of all of them.

"Don't be jealous, little brother," you teased, laughing as Mikey insisted he wasn't jealous. Your laughter died down, however, when something caught your eye from down below. You went completely silent when you heard yelling.

"Hold up, there's something down there!" You crouched down near the edge of a nearby rooftop, the turtles crowding around you, and squinted your eyes as you tried to make out what was happening in the darkness.

You could barely make out six silhouettes. One seemed to be wearing a dress and was clutching something- most likely a purse- close to their chest, while the other five figures were backing the person into a corner, holding what seemed to be weapons.

"A mugging.." Donnie confirmed exactly what you were suspecting. The five of you looked at each other and nodded, jumping down, using fire escapes and windowsills to make your way safely to the ground and landed between the woman and the robbers.

"Halt, villains!" Raph yelled, pointing his finger at the perpetrators. The shadows covered their forms, making it so that the turtles didn't seem like turtles. "We can either do this the easy way, or the-"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" You let out a yell as you ran up to one of the men, tackling him and wrestling with him in attempts to take his weapon.

"...Hard way it is, then!" Raph yelled. He and his brothers pulled out their weapons and leaped into battle.

After wrestling with the man for a while, you kicked the criminal away, making him slam his head into a nearby brick wall, knocking him out. You quickly rushed over to the woman, avoiding your brothers and your enemies, and helped her to her feet. She began to thank you frantically, stumbling behind you as you lead her out of the alley.

You looked over your shoulder and yelped when you saw one of the men charging up to you. "Go, go!" you yelled, pushing her away as the man tackled you. He was much stronger than the one you threw hands with earlier and ended up throwing you into a nearby wall.

"Hey!" Raph yelled, eyes now filled with fury. "You stay away from our little sibling!" He threw a punch, and the criminal was barely able to dodge. After the criminal had rolled away, Raph's fist collided with the ground, leaving a large crater in the cement.

The criminals, realizing just how strong their opponents were, finally fled, carrying their unconscious buddy with them, deeming that it was not worth the trouble of fighting them off.

"Yeah, you better run!" Leo called out as Mikey rushed over to you.

"You really showed that guy who's boss!" the turtle in orange exclaimed excitedly.

You let out a chuckle and tried to stand, using the nearby wall as your support. "Heh, yeah! You guys were really cool t- ah, ah!" You stopped mid-sentence due to a sting in your back.

"(Y/N)!" Your brothers all gathered around you as you fell back down to the ground, your face twisting in pain.

"It- It's fine- I can-" You couldn't get a full sentence out without wincing in pain. As Raph, Leo, and Mikey tried to comfort you, you could feel one of Donnie's machines scanning your form.

"A fractured rib," the turtle in purple confirmed, showing the results of the scanning. "We need to treat her right now."

"No, really guys! I'm fine-" A breath of pain escaped your clenched teeth as you tried to stand yet again.

"Hey, don't push yourself," Leo said as Raph picked you up, careful not to make your injuries any worse.

"C'mon boys," Raph said, "Let's take her home."

~^~

Ever since your rib had been fractured, your brothers wouldn't leave you alone. Donnie determined that it would take about six weeks for you to recover, but for the most part, you could still move around and do daily tasks.

That didn't stop your brothers from doing anything and everything for you.

"(Y/N)! What're you doing out of bed?!" Mikey ran towards you immediately, stopping you in your tracks. Upon hearing his words, all of your brothers were by your side in an instant.

"Oh, I'm just getting a snack-"

"We'll handle it! You head back into your room!" Raph stood in your way, his large stature not allowing you to take a step past him.

"Guys, I can handle a small walk!" You insisted, "My room is literally right next to the kitchen!"

"Yeah yeah, that's what they all say," Donnie said, "They all think 'Oh! It's just one snack!' but then after they eat, they get thirsty, so they get a glass of water! But just as they're about to take a sip, they suddenly drop their drink, slipping in the water, landing in the glass in pain and injuring their rib even further!!"

"What Donnie is trying to say," Leo said, pushing his crazed twin to the side, "is that you don't need to raise a finger, because your awesome big brothers are gonna take care of you until you fully recover!"

"But-!"

"You go take a nap. Your snack will be ready before you wake up!" Raph insisted, ushering you back into your room.

"I can-!"

"Love ya, sis!" Mikey called out before your door suddenly slammed shut.

"Guys-! Ugh..." Knowing that they would just throw you back to your room the moment you stepped out, you decided to simply plop yourself back onto your bed and stare up at the ceiling.

You could hear the sound of your brothers scurrying to the kitchen to get you a snack.

And then Donnie's lab.

And then their own bedrooms.

And then Splinter's room- what were they doing?

Suddenly, the turtles burst into your room, carrying all sorts of things with proud grins on their faces.

"(Y/N)! We got your snacks-"

"-painkillers in case you start aching again-"

"-fluffy blankets and pillows!-"

"-and don't tell Splinter, but we stole the projector when he fell asleep so we could all watch movies together!"

Honestly, you were baffled. They did all this.. for you?

"You guys, you didn't have to," a chuckle escaped your lips as Donnie and Raph got to work, building a pillow fort around you.

"Nonsense!" Mikey exclaimed, wrapping you up in the fluffiest blanket they had and engulfing you in a hug. "You're our little sister, and it's our job to take care of you!"

"Any movie suggestions?" Leo asked as he set up the projector. "Teriyaki Shakedown? Lou Jitsu Meets the Mummy Ninjas?"

~^~

"Boys!" Splinter's voice rung through the lair, following the sound of his projector. "What have you done with my-!"

He immediately went quiet upon entering your room. All five of you had fallen asleep amidst the pile of soft sheets and pillows. Snack wrappers were littered about the bed and floor, and your favorite movie was currently playing on his projector.

Mikey was in front of you, hugging your abdomen. The twins sat beside you, leaning against you and keeping an arm wrapped around you. And Raph sat behind you, his arms wrapped around all of you like a protective blanket.

Quietly, Splinter let out a chuckle and slowly closed the door. "I suppose I can let this slide... just this once."
