Chapter 34.
Chapter 34:
------{Harry's POV}------
I got to the venue and it was quiet. I parked my car and got out, locking it as I do so. I placed my phone into my pocket and walked towards the large wooden doors; Pushing the doors open revealed the dark venue, making me realise that all of the lights were off. I cautiously walked forward, slowly stepping further into the room.
The next thing I knew the lights switched on, almost blinding me and causing me to squint at the brightness. I heard an enormous cheer as I looked over the balcony to see a crowd of familiar people; my family, old school friends, the lads and their girlfriends, friends I've met in the last few years, everyone was there, except one person. I couldn't see Emma.
Observing the cause of loud boom that echoed around the hall, I shook my head and brought myself back to reality knowing that I could be miserable in front of everyone. I smiled and waved to the crowd and descended down the stairs and onto the floor to greet my guests. After multiple 'hello's and 'thank you's, the music started pounding and the lights turned off, only to be replaced by strobe lights and multicoloured lights creating a disco-like atmosphere on the dance floor. It looked a lot like a club, everyone dancing and drinking, having a good time.
I walked over to my families table, giving everyone a hug and thanking them for coming. "So are you surprised?" my mum asked over the music, her arm wrapped around my waist as she snuggled comfortingly into my side.
"Yeah! How did all of this happen? How are you here?" I replied still stunned as I glanced down at her smiling expression.
"Well the lads called us during the week, they told us about the party and asked if we could make it. Happy Birthday sweetie!" she said, explaining to me. I nodded and gave her a kiss on the cheek - happy to see her.
"Hey Gem." I said giving her a hug as she ruffled my hair. Instead of fixing it I simply pushed her playfully, causing a mini nudging fight to break out between the two of us, the entire table chuckling at our sibling antics.
"Happy Birthday Harry." she smiled and laughed after we had finished messing.
"Hey Robin." I said and shook his hand. These greeting continued as I made my way around the tables, saying hello to all of my family members.
"Hey dad." I said giving him a hug, to which he returned, patting my back as we pulled away.
"Hey son, happy birthday!" he smiled. "Are you enjoying it?"
"Yeah, I'm still a bit shocked to be honest." I chuckled, "Did the lads ring you up as well?" I asked. I was surprised when he shook his head.
"Erm, no actually." he hesitated but kept his glance on me as he nervously rubbed the back of his neck, "Emma popped 'round during the week and asked if I could make it. She's a really lovely girl." he said. I looked at him with wide eyes and my eyebrows furrowed.
"You've seen Emma?" I asked dumbfounded not really wanting to believe that he had seen her in the last week.
"Yeah," he looked at me sadly, I could tell he knew about our fight, "don't worry about it Harry, just let her explain." he replied, patting my back once more reassuringly. I nodded slightly and made my way over to the lads; I gave Perrie, Dani, El and Hayley hugs and pecks on the cheek and thanking them for their birthday wishes. Turning to the lads my smile widened, seeing them in funny positions for when I turned around. I laughed hysterically at them and sat down at our table.
"So you guys did all this then?" I asked them, raising my arms to insinuate the party.
"Kind of." Louis said, I looked confused but allowed them to explain.
"Well, we took care of ringing your family." Liam continued.
"And we were also your distraction!" Niall added making me even more confused than before.
"What do you mean 'distraction'?" I asked curiously.
"Well we had to distract you while Emma did everything else." Zayn said lowly whilst taking a sip of his drink. My mouth turned into an 'o' shape as I tried to understand.
"So you're telling me that Emma organised all of this?" They simply nodded.
"The venue, the decorations, the music. And when we couldn't get in contact with your dad, she was the one that went to Holmes Chapel to tell him about it." Louis said.
I kept quiet for a moment and allowed myself to connect all of the pieces together, "So that's why she was so distant and quiet?" I responded gently making them all nod in response. I closed my eyes and shook my head, how could I have accused her of cheating, and called her a liar, and accused her of using me when after all of this time she was doing this for me. "So all of the phone calls?" I asked expectantly.
"Yeah, to party planners to organise everything." Liam replied.
"But she told someone she loved them, on the phone, I was there, I heard her." I asked yet again confused.
Louis raised his hand guiltily, "Yeah, that was my fault. I said I would keep calling her if she didn't say it." he gained a playful smack on the arm from Eleanor, scolding him afterwards for being 'annoying at the wrong time'.
I looked up at the venue and took all of this new information in whilst the boys turned to their girlfriends and Niall sat with Hayles. We were in a large hall with a dance floor at the front, the strove and multicoloured light beaming onto the faces of those who had gotten up to dance; at the back it had a gallery landing with stairs descending on either side on the balcony, joining in the middle before becoming one and leading down into the hall I was currently stood in. It looked elegant but was contrasted with the blaring music and bright lights. I walked over to another table to see Nick, giving him a friendly hug and thanked him for coming, "You having a good birthday mate?" he shouted over the loud music.
"Yeah, it's great!" I returned taking another glance around the room.
"Well you'll see me up on the DJ table later. Emma asked me to organise a playlist for you." I nodded at him and smiled.
"Ah nice. Right well, I'll see you in a bit. I've gotta' see everyone. Thanks for the playlist man" I said referring to the other 150 people in the room.
"Cya mate." I shouted as I made my way over to Ed. I wrapped my arm around his shoulders and smiled widely at him. "Hi." I chuckled.
"Heya mate!" he turned and gave me a hug. "You havin' a good time time so far? You surprised?"
"Yeah! I didn't expect any of it. It's been great so far, and I haven't even been here for that long." he smiled at me and continued.
"How're you and Emma? She told me about your fight." he looked to the floor and then back to me sympathetically.
"I haven't seen or spoken to her since then." I repled glumly, knowing I needed to apologise to her.
"You'll be fine." he winked at me before heading off to sit at his table. I confusedly turned around and walked in the direction of the lads, sitting myself next to Hayley.
"Hayles, have you spoken to Emma since last week?" I asked her desperately.
She swallowed a sip of her drink before answering. "Yep"
"Is she okay?" I asked worriedly. The music stopped and was repleaced with a very familiar song. Mine and Emma's song to be exact. Hayley didn't answer me, she just looked behind me at the gallery landing. I confusedly turned to see what had caught her attention, seeing the lads and girls glancing in the same direction as well. I looked up to see the most amazingly beautiful person I have even seen in my entire life.
I looked up at Emma's smiling face as she made her way down the left side of the staircase; she was wearing a floor length silk white dress, that hugged her figure gently. The strapless design had a lace back all the way down to her back dimples, she looked absolutely breathtaking. I closed my mouth and made my way over to her, the music softly continued and the lights had changed into the warm elegant candle-like colours of the crystal chandelier that hung above the guests heads. As I got closer to her, her smile grew even wider, that effortlessly beautiful smile of hers. She reached the meeting point of the two staircases before they conjoined and descended as one. I ran up the stairs to meet her, in view of the entire club, although I didn't care if everyone was watching. The music stopped as I reached her.
"Hi." she smiled at me glancing nervously to the floor, making me lift her chin up slowly with my finger until our eyes finally met, all of her emotions pouring into me as my eyes bored into hers.
"Hey." I replied seriously, "I've missed you." I whispered to her, admitting my felling over the last week.
"I've missed you too." she smiled coyly. I slowly closed the distance between us, taking her hands in mine and resting my forehead on hers.
"I'm so sorry baby. I'm so sorry." I whispered, trying to prevent my tears from falling. Her right hand raised to my left cheek caressing it slowly.
"Why would you think I would do that to you Harry? Why would you think I would use you and cheat on you?" she replied calmly, her touch still comforting me as a single tear fell from my eye which she gently wiped away from existence.
"I just-" she cut me off.
"Why don't you trust me?" her eyes glazed over with warm tears that had not yet fallen, pleading me, it pained me to see her like this and know that I am the cause of it.
"I just don't want to lose you Em's. You were just so distant and quiet, I didn't know what to do." I let my tears cascade down my face, feeling her soft hand wipe them away.
"Harry, I love you. No matter what you think, I do, and always will love you. But you need to trust me. I would never, EVER do anything like that to you. I promise, okay? You really hurt me Harry." she spoke sincerely, making me nod my head.
"I love you so much Em's. So much." I answered as I rested my hands on her waist and buried my head into her shoulder. "I'm so sorry."
"I love you too Harry." she whispered calmly into my ear, comforting me as she did so. This is all I could ever want in life, to know that she was mine and I was hers, that we are both completely and irrevocably in love and no-one else matters. She wrapped her arms lovingly around my neck and raised her head in order to connect her eyes with mine; her tears had finally fallen and she smiled happily at me, they were tears of joy not sadness that they originally were. I looked to her plump pink lips and then back up to her beautiful hazel eyes.
Every single part of her body hypnotised me, she put me into a trance without even knowing it; she made me love her just by breathing or looking into my eyes with that loving gaze, I've always wanted to feel what infatuation and true love felt like, and with Emma, I undeniably know exactly what its like. Without hesitation, I pressed my lips to hers in a passionate kiss, hearing cheers and wolf whistles from the guests, who I had forgotten about.
"GET A ROOM!!" I heard Louis yell loudly, making us both smile into the kiss at his humourous comment. We pulled away from each other reluctantly, our eyes meeting before we smiled and faced all of the guests who were now applauding us. I took her soft small hand in my own and held onto it tightly as we made our way down the staircase.
"You look incredible by the way." I whispered into her ear as I guided us both to the dancefloor, which was already occupied by couples. She smiled shyly at me and diverted her gaze to the floor as she blushed in embarrassment.
"Thank you. You don't look to bad yourself. Who picked out your suit?" she winked, making me realise it was in fact her.
"I don't know but I hate it." I teased, chuckling at her shocked expression as it turned into a playful offence. She gently hit my arm, but I simply pulled her back into my chest and slow danced with her. We turned to see Dani and Liam, Louis and El, Perrie and Zayn and Niall and Hayley all on the dancefloor with us as well, slow dancing with each other. "Thank you for all of this. For everything." I looked around the venue and the guests as I spoke, until my eyes finally met hers.
"Are you enjoying yourself?" she asked as she rested her head on my chest, placing a small and lustful kiss just below my ear. She knew that was my favourite spot and I had to hold back a small moan that threatened to escape.
She chuckled at my attempt to hold back a moan, hearing it anyway as it erupted from my throat, only loud enough for her to hear. I glanced down at her cheeky smirk watching as she bit her lip to contain her giggles, I couldn't help but smile at her. "Yeah, I couldn't have asked for anything better." I smiled and delicately kissed her lips whilst we continued our slow dance.
