I looked nervously at the door in front of me. Behind that door was the love of my life. The dream that's been swirling around my head for the last few months.

A long breath escaped me as I knocked a few times before taking a step back.

The door opened a couple seconds later, Jane's shocked face greeting me.

   "Blair..? What're you doing here..?"

I looked down, playing with my fingernails. "Can we talk..?"

She stared at me for a long second before nodding and inviting me inside.

I followed her into the apartment, hesitantly taking a seat next to her on the couch, silence filling the room.

Then, I sighed. "Jane, the last few months have been a rollercoaster of emotions... so many things have happened and I feel like I've grown so much in that time... but, the one thing that mattered the most was you... from the first moment I laid eyes on you I knew you were special, I knew that you were the only woman I'd ever wanna be with... because I love you... I love you, Jane, and watching you walk out of my life was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do..."

Jane grew silent, slowly taking my hand in hers. "I love you to, Blair..."

I looked over at her, a smile forming on my lips. "Wait... really?"

She smiled as well, giving me a small nod. "Like you said, from the first moment I saw you, I knew I could never live without you... but, your parents, I couldn't come between your family. I had to do what I thought was right..."

I gave her hand a squeeze. "This moment, the two of us together, that's what's right."

Her smile grew wider. "You mean, your parents..?"

I nodded happily. "You have their blessing."

I noticed a few happy tears well behind her eyes as she leaned in, pressing a deep kiss to my lips.

Mustering all of her love and feelings into one gesture. A kiss like you've never experienced before. A kiss that sealed our fate...

Two Years Later...

Emma stood behind me, finishing up my hair before glancing at me through the mirror. "So, what do you think?"

   I smiled. "It looks... fantastic."

She smiled back, offering me her arm.

I took it and let her lead me out of the chair I was sitting in.

We strolled towards the bathroom door, stopping in front of it.

Emma turned to me. "I'm so proud of you."

I smiled wide, pulling her into a tight hug. "Thank you... for everything."

She pulled away, patting my shoulder. "Don't mention it. Now, get your ass out there, we have a wedding to attend."

I nodded, pulling her into another quick hug before stepping out of the bathroom, seeing my parents standing before me.

They pulled me into a tight hug as well.

"We're so happy for you, honey." Marry said.

Vanessa nodded. "You deserve all the happiness in the world and if Jane is the woman that brings you that happiness, then we support you all the way."

I smiled. "Thanks, I love you guys so much."

Marry wiped a few tears from her eyes. "We love you to."

Then, Vanessa stuck her arm out.

I looped mine through hers, then Marry's.

The sound of the organ filling the room shortly after.

   "You ready?" Vanessa asked.

I just nodded before letting them lead me down the isle towards the altar.

   "Good luck, sweetie." Vanessa whispered.

I thanked them before stepping up onto the altar, Emma stepping up behind me.

   "You got this." She whispered.

Then, everyone turned their attention to the back of the room.

I followed their gazes, seeing Jane standing their, a beautiful white dress flowing down past her feet.

'Could she get anymore perfect..?' I thought.

The organ started up again as her father led her down the isle, helping her step up onto the altar in front of me.

"Hey, fancy meeting you here." She whispered.

I giggled, a few tears welling in my eyes. "Likewise, how're you feeling?"

   She shrugged. "Good, I guess."

We shared a quiet laugh as the officiant walked up. "We're gathered here today to celebrate the joining of this couple..."

After his opening words, he looked between the two of us. "I understand you've both prepared your own vows?"

We nodded and he returned it. "Alright, you may start whenever you're ready."

Jane glanced at me. "Mind if I go first?"

"Please, be my guest." I replied.

She nodded, her maid of honor handing her a small sheet of paper.

She cleared her throat before looking me in the eyes. "Blair, I stand before you today with love in my heart and hope in my soul. When I first met you, I knew you were unlike anyone else on the planet. You're the most amazing girl I've ever met and I vow to love you for as long as you will let me. As long as you'll have me, I'll be there. A love like ours is rare, and I vow to never let anything come between that... I'm beyond excited that I get to spend the rest of my life with you, and I hope our hearts will live on together, forever..."

   'Damn, she's good...'

I wiped a stray tear from my eye as she returned her arms to her sides, staring deep into my eyes. "Lay it on me, beautiful"

I laughed lightly as Emma stepped forward, handing me my vows.

I glanced down at them quickly before folding the paper, returning my gaze to Jane.

'If I'm gonna give my vows, she deserves to hear it from my heart, not some piece of paper...' I thought.

I let out a small breath, looking across the altar at my beautiful wife to be before starting to speak. "Jane, I fought like hell to be here today. To be able to call you mine. To be able to love you for the rest of my life... I've made sacrifices and almost ruined relationships. But, all of that led me to this day, to you, so I'd gladly do it all again... Things weren't always easy, but the dream of getting to spend the rest of my life with you kept me going. It was the light at the end of the tunnel and now that I'm finally here, I only have one simple vow... To cherish every moment we have together, because I'm the luckiest girl on the planet to have someone as amazing as you in my life and I'll never forget that..."

Jane smiled wide, a few tears leaking down her cheeks.

Then, the officiant spoke up. "That was beautiful, ladies. Now, if we can have the rings."

   Emma handed him the rings.

He smiled before handing them to us. "By placing these rings onto each others fingers, you vow to love and care for each other until death do you part."

Jane slipped the ring onto my finger. "I do."

I returned the favor. "Same here."

Jane chuckled as the officiant clapped his hands together. "Then, by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you wife and wife, you may kiss the bride."

The audience erupted into cheers as Jane and I leaned forward, meeting in the middle for a soft, tender kiss.

We slowly pulled apart as the sound of applause rang out around us.

"I can't wait to kiss you like that every morning." Jane said.

"I don't know, every morning just doesn't seem like enough." I replied.

She smiled, kissing me again. "I love you, Blair."

   "I love you to, Jane."

   'Forever... and then some...'

Love is a funny thing. It's a feeling like no other. Some days it can pull your entire being to the highest mountain tops and other days, it can drive you absolutely wild. But, I think that's what makes it special. Because, regardless of how it makes you feel, as long as your love is pure and true, it'll always find a way to work out in the end...

The End
