Chapter 10

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. I leaned over and grabbed it off of my night stand. A small smile formed on my face when I saw who's name flashed on the screen.

"Good morning." I greeted.

"Morning, sorry to call so early." Jane replied.

I sat up on the edge of my bed. "You can call me anytime."

She giggled a little. "Well, I'd sure hope so. But, I wanted to ask you something."

"Shoot."

"What're you doing this weekend?"

I thought for a second. "Nothing as far as I know. Why?"

"Well, then, pack your bags because you're coming to stay with me for the weekend."

My smile grew a little wider. "Where at?"

"My place, Josh and Jessie are gone for the weekend."

   "Really? What for?"

"They're out of town visiting Josh's mom."

I nodded. "Alright, I'll pack some clothes then."

   "Great, I'll see you soon."

   "Bye."

   "Bye, bye."

I hung up with a happy sigh. 'A whole weekend alone with Jane. What could be better?'

After getting ready for the day and packing a few things I would need, I called Emma.

She showed up a few minutes later. I grabbed my bag and headed downstairs, where my moms stopped me.

"Where are you running off to?" Marry asked.

"Oh, uh... spending the weekend at Emma's."

My parents exchanged a quick glance and smile. "Well, tell her we said hi." Vanessa said.

I nodded before rushing out the door.

I knew I couldn't keep lying to them, but Jane was still married. I couldn't introduce them yet and I still wasn't sure how I felt about that in the first place.

I got in Emma's car. "Let's go."

"Aye, aye." She replied with a chuckle before driving off.

"So, have you told your parents about Jane yet?" She asked about halfway through the ride.

I sighed. "Kinda."

She gave me a quick side glance. "What's 'kinda'?"

"Well, they know I like a girl named Jane."

"Blair!"

"What?"

"They're your parents, you can't expect to hide Jane from them forever. You have to tell them."

I lowered my head. "I know, but she's still married. Plus, what if they reject her because of the age difference?"

"Blair, your parents are like the nicest people on planet earth. I doubt they'd care, besides you're an adult and Jane isn't that much older than you."

"She's married with a kid Emma."

Emma rolled her eyes. "It's not her kid."

I faced her. "That's not the point and since when are you on our side? I thought you disagreed with this."

She shrugged. "Well... She makes you happy... and if she's good enough for you then she's ok in my book."

My face softened into a warm smile. "Oh... thanks."

She gave me a quick smile back. "Sure thing."

I sat back in the seat. 'Maybe she's right.' I mean my parents have always been very supportive and accepting of everything I've done. Why should this be any different?

Eventually, we pulled in front of Janes house.

"Thanks for the ride." I said as I grabbed my bag from the backseat.

"No problem, just give me a call when you're ready to leave."

I gave her a small smile before closing the door and waving her off.

When I turned around, Jane was leaning against the door frame, smiling at me.

I returned it as I walked up.

"Hey." She greeted, holding the door for me.

Once she closed it, I turned around and pulled her in for a deep kiss, dropping my bag in the process.

She pulled away with a giggle. "What's gotten into you?"

I shrugged. "I have you all to myself for a whole weekend, I guess I'm excited."

She smirked. "Well, what should we do first?"

I looked up into her eyes before slowly leaning back in, capturing her lips with mine.

When we finally pulled apart, she held me at arms length. "Ok, what's next?"

I giggled. "How does pizza and a movie sound?"

She smiled. "I'll pick the movie if you order the pizza."

   I nodded. "I'm on it."

After hanging up with the pizza place, I turned to Jane, who was flipping through movies. "Find something?" I asked.

"Not yet, I'm trying to decide between romance and comedy."

I sat down next to her on the couch. "How about both?"

She glanced at me. "I like the way you think."

I chuckled as I sat back in the couch.

After deciding on a movie, the pizza arrived. Jane payed, even though I offered.

   'Stubborn.' I thought.

We cuddled up next to each other on the couch, a slice of pizza in hand and pressed play.

I stared mindlessly at the screen, enjoying my pizza and the company. Jane wrapped her free arm around my shoulder and I leaned into her.

Every time she laughed, I could feel myself falling harder for her. Her laugh was like the best song you've ever heard and all I wanted to do was listen to it on repeat.

That paired with her beautiful smile and delicate features made her like a drug that I was willingly addicted to. I might not have known her long, but I couldn't imagine my life without her.

She was perfect in every way and I wouldn't let anyone stand between us. Not her husband or stepdaughter, not Emma or my parents. Because I loved her and as long as she would have me, I'd be there, right by her side until the very end.

"Blair? You still with me?" I heard her ask, pulling me from my thoughts.

I glanced at her, slightly embarrassed. "Yeah, sorry. I guess I kinda zoned out there for a minute."

She smiled at me. "What were you thinking about?"

I stared deep into those big hazel eyes of hers. "You..."

Her smile grew a little wider. "What about me?"

I looked down at her lips. "Well, your smile for one."

She leaned in a little closer. "What else?"

I felt myself leaning in as well. "Your laugh."

   "What about my laugh?"

We continued to lean in until we were barely an inch apart. "How it's my favorite sound on earth."

I felt her breath against my lips as she let out a slight chuckle. "What about my lips?"

The familiar heat started to radiate throughout my body. "That's my favorite part about you."

   "Why?" She asked.

"They're so soft and..." My sentence trailed off as I softly pressed my lips to hers.

She brought her hands up and cupped my face, rubbing my cheek with her thumb.

I ran my hand up her thigh as she started leaning back, pulling me with her.

Then, I felt her tongue against my bottom lip. I froze as a recent memory resurfaced.

I pulled away quickly and sat up.

   "Blair? What's wrong?" She asked.

   I looked down. "Nothing..."

'Nothing!? You were thinking about Lindsay while you were kissing Jane.'

Jane rested a hand on my shoulder. "I'm sorry if I did something wrong."

I shook my head before facing her. "You didn't do anything wrong... I just..." Then, I sighed.

"You can talk to me, Blair." She replied with a reassuring smile.

I lowered my head, trying to decide what to tell her. "Just a bad memory, that's all."

'Now you're lying to her!? You're unbelievable!'

She nodded. "You sure you're ok?"

I nodded back and smiled a little. "I promise."

She returned my smile before hesitantly leaning in again.

'Well, don't just sit there, get your ass back in the game.'

I met her in the middle, capturing her lips with mine once again.

This time I was determined not to let anything interfere.

Our kisses grew hungrier as she laid back on the couch again, pulling me on top of her. She let out a slight moan as I moved my kisses to her neck, then her collar bone.

She started unbuttoning her shirt while I sat up and pulled mine over my head.

Our eyes met in a lustful stare down, the fire behind her eyes igniting something deep within me.

'No more distractions.' I thought before leaning back into her.

'It's just you and Jane... no one else.'
