It was finally time for K.O to go home, though he wasn't really wanting to. Enid and Rad both knew something was up with him, but they kept it a secret between them. The last thing he wanted was for his mom to find out something was wrong with him.

He let out a sigh as he hopped into his mom's car, avoiding eye contact with her. He just wanted today to be over and tomorrow to be here. He let out a sigh and buckled up, looking down at the floor.

"You okay, K.O?" His mom asked, looking at him. "You look a little bit bothered. Is something bothering you?"

He closed his eyes and shook his head, hoping his mom wouldn't question him anymore. Though she noticed that his eyes were a purplish-gray color when they were closed, which stood out like a sore thumb. She gasped silently to herself, knowing that this wasn't normal.

"K.O, your eyes, they're -- please, is something wrong? I need to know."

He didn't respond, causing her voice to become more serious and stern. "K.O, answer me," she declared, placing her hand on his shoulder. "I'm fine," he growled, shoving her hand off his shoulder.

"K.O! Don't talk to me in that tone of voice!" Carol responded, shocked that K.O would talk to her in that kind of voice.

He looked up at her with a dark look in his eyes, a look that wasn't K.O's. It was too unlike him, too dark and evil looking to be him. This was K.O, but at the same time, it wasn't. Confusion struck her, and she knew she had to ask questions.

"K.O, are you --"

"Shut your mouth you big fat slob," he snapped, making Carol's eyes go wide. "I don't care if you're my mom, I don't care if you're a damn old lady, I'm not listening to you."

"K.O!" She shouted, more shocked than ever before. "Watch your mouth!"

"Listen here you brat," he hissed. "You don't know who I am, I am not your son. I nothing more than the shadow that follows him. I am his greatest fear yet I'm his greatest strength. You don't know who you're messing with, so I suggest you back off."

Carol stared, her eyes wide with shock, unable to believe what she heard. She suddenly felt anger, which caused her to quickly grab him by the shirt.

"You're right, I don't know who you are, but I do know you better get out and leave my son alone." Her voice sounded unlike anything ever heard before, with both anger and distress inside it as she spoke.

"You'll never understand this," K.O responded. "I am his own shadow, I am his dark self that he conceals inside of himself in order to become a hero. Though even though he tries, he cannot get rid of me. I am a part of him, and always will be."

This caused Carol to snap. She quickly threw K.O out of the car and hopped on top of it. He skidded across the ground, smiling up at her with an evil grin. "Oh, so you want to fight? You do realize that despite this, I'm still your son." He stood up, ready to face whatever attack Carol was going to do. "I can show up and leave at will. You can't beat me without killing K.O himself."

Carol didn't listen, instead, she quickly pounced toward him. He quickly closed his eyes, and opened them back up, only to look around in confusion. "What's going on?" His eyes went wide when he saw his mom pouncing toward him.

She quickly jumped on top of him and grabbed his throat. "M - mom," he stammered, slapping her hand lightly to get her to let go. "P - please, let me go. I - I can't breathe."

She continued holding onto his throat until she realized what she was doing and let go. K.O coughed a bit and looked up at his mom with fear, when she suddenly hugged him. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, K.O," she said, trying to force back her tears. "I don't know what came over me. I really don't."

K.O just hugged her back, thinking about what just happened, when the realization hit him.

It wasn't him, it was the shadow.

(A/N) Only one week. Shouldn't be that long, right? Haha, I'm seriously hoping this week goes by quickly. On Labor Day, I'm actually out of school, so I'm hoping the day goes by fairly decent so it doesn't feel like I'm waiting even longer xD

But yeah, I'm just really desperate for this special right now. I can already tell it's going to become my favorite episode so far! Also according to the TV guide, it's going to be on a half hour and the episode name is going to be T.K.O. Wow, even that title sounds really freaking awesome xD
