Chapter 3: Confess Your Sins
for about a month now Minnie had been taking therapy for the PTSD and Depression she had developed. Part of her therapy was to confess to Father David Greyhound which kept her mind off the horrific memories and more on how she could improve herself in her daily life.
"Now my child, what sins have you come to confess?" Father David asked like he did every week.
"Well, I-" Minnie was interrupted by a loud crashing sound. When she looked outside into the church, she saw a broken glass cross on the floor and a young woman running trough the exit.
"Why don't we cut this session short Minnie, I don't want anybody eaves dropping on any confessions."
So Minnie went home. Tomorrow was going to be Minnie's potentially last day of therapy. Of course, she would have to make it though another day of school first. Since Minnie was the smallest girl in class, the "Mean Girls" were always making fun of her, mocking her, and talking about her behind her back.
"Tomorrow is a new day" Minnie told herself. The therapist said to say that if she had worries for the next day.
The next day, Minnie went to school and for the most part, everything was-
"Minnie, did you hear me?" Sean asked, apparently Minnie had spaced out again, the mean girls, who were sitting a few seats behind her were giggling.
"Me, Matt, and some others are going to be celebrating your last day of therapy tonight at my house. It's at 8:00, and please don't be late, you're the guest of honor!" Sean realized how loud he was talking, then mouthed the words "Sorry" to Minnie and looked away, clearly realizing how badly he messed up.
During recess, Minnie was feeling terrible, so she went into the girls restroom to get away from the crowds of students.
As she looked into the mirror a tear fell from her eye, then-
"What's wrong Tiny? Are you gonna cry?" asked Abigail Silvester, leader of the mean girl click. With her were Francine France, Chloe Lang, and Silvia Waters who were fake laughing at Abigail's joke.
"I'm not in the mood Abig-"
"I don't care if you are in the mood you tiny, little wet-rag!" Abigail interrupted, and the other girls joined her with laughter.
"You're nothing but a worthless waste of flesh and bone, I don't even want to share the same air-space as you!" Again, the girls laughed, but Minnie was not having it, she was in tears.
"Nobody wants to be your friend, no wonder somebody murdered that freak Billy Baker, the only person who was as stupid as you!" This was the last straw, Minnie's face and ears became red as blood, and her blood began to boil.
As the mean girls were laughing and mocking, she yelled in anger "HE WAS NOT STUPID!" as she punched Abigail in the nose, "YOU'RE ALL THE REAL STUPIDS IN THIS SCHOOL!!!" she punched her in the nose again, and a *Crack* sound was heard.
As most of the girls rushed over to check on Abigail, Chloe Lang stared at Minnie, and told her "You-you b-broke her n-nose!"
Minnie was fully aware of this, and she ran out crying. Minnie doesn't like to hurt people, physically or emotionally.
She left the school grounds and made a mad dash to the church to confess her sins to Father David,
Meanwhile, at the church, the only person still there was Father David, who was sitting in the confessional booth, then he heard a voice tell him "Sit where the sinner sits."
Though Father David was a little skeptical about who the owner of the voice was, he didn't want to test his luck if it was the voice of God or an angel. So, he entered the seat where the confessor sits.
From the other side of the booth the voice asked him "Now my child, are you ready to confess your biggest sin?" The voice sounded patient but so very cold.
Father David's skin went pale, and his breaths shaky "I-I d-don't know what you're t-talking about! W-Who are you!"
"You killed that little girl! A hit and run that you framed on a serial killer by carving his calling card on her body! You coward!" The voice yelled in anger.
"It doesn't matter, he died on death row," David uttered for a foothold in this argument... but it was no use.
The man behind the voice entered the section that David was in, and David yelled "Barbatos!!! Begone Demon!!! You're supposed to be dead!!!"
The old crow slowly approached Father David with a gun in one hand and nothing in the other. The preacher raised a crucifix and yelled to the Crow "I shall now say the 91st Psalm!", but the crafty Crow responded with "May he who is sinless throw the first stone".
Father David went on to say "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of-" but the Crow grabbed him and said "The fowler, and from the noisome pestilence!" as he threw the preacher to the other side of the confession booth.
"I'll make you a deal preacher," the Crow said calmly "Take this gun, and I trust you know what the right thing is. For the wages of sin is death..."
Then, the preacher took the gun, aimed it, and said "But the gift of God is eternal life...", then he pulled the trigger, shooting himself in the head.
"A soul for a soul," the crow said before he exited the building singing "If I Only Had A Brain".
When Minnie arrived, she went to Father David's office, called 9-1-1, and called her parents, telling them what happened.
What made things worse was a blood-covered crucifix was upside down on the wall behind him with a crow painted on the wall in blood.
