Story 5: Abomination

"Is he going to be okay?" This questioned punctured through Alex's skull. He had no idea what was going on. The last thing he remembered was the feeling of being invaded. Taken. Stolen. Swept away. Even now, he felt the aftermath. The migraine slowly washing over and and back, like the tides. And...something...

"We don't know." Another voice. Still unknown, but seemed familiar. Like the first. But he felt an unconscious rage at this. How dare she? She...wait...why is he angry at that voice? Slowly, he started to regain feeling in his body. "Kill the bitch!" this sudden voice, not influenced from the outside, but screaming in his head, caused him to shoot straight up, terrifying the people surrounding his bed.

The Operator herself was horrified at the sight of Alex sitting up, breathing heavily. He looked like shit. Though his pupils were now drowning out his irises from all the painkillers and other drugs flowing through his system, they had turned a bright green color. Like he had a mutation. His hair had a streak of white now running through his hair. His skin was chalky and his once proud body frame look drained from weeks without his usual constant upkeep. As she looked, Alex also appeared different, mentally different. His eyes scanned through the room as he tried to fight through the drugs. He was having trouble finding anything familiar. When his eyes reached her, the Operator felt a chill.

Alex himself felt panic rise as he looked around. He knew these people yes, but that was the problem. He knew who these people were. Panicking he pulled against the IV drips, ribbing them out and flew forward, ready to rip out the closest man's throat.

White suit was as shocked as everyone else to see Alex wake up panicked, even now as his head was being punched into the ground. By the time he punched Alex back, White suit's suit wasn't white in the chest area. Alex didn't appear to feel any pain from the blow, but it did knock him back though. White suit felt his head fall back and hit the ground, world going black.

Alex thrashed, Black suit's arm clenched around his throat, and Gray suit holding his ankles as he tried kicking. The adrenaline flowing through, burning. Biting as hard as he could, he heard a scream as he broke bone on the arm around him. Breaking through his neck, Alex felt a cool relief enter his body. He fell the way of White suit.

In the infirmary, the Operator felt a sense of deja vu. Alex looked even worse, more sedatives running through his veins. He shouldn't have even been able to coordinate his body properly with the previous amount. They needed to check for mutations. White suit was currently in the ER, though not life threatening he needed surgery in order to not have permanent damage. Black suit was standing next to the Operator, arm mostly fixed, though it would be awhile before the new cells learned to work with the original normally.

The Operator stood there not moving until a clipboard was pushed in front of her. The sender was Black suit, who muttered "Initial scans have detected several anomalies. We suspect higher scans will find more." As the Operator looked down and started reading, feeling a vice grip around her chest.

James felt himself drifting through a void. He didn't know how long he was there, but he wanted out. "Why do you want to leave?" James jumped at the unknown voice, turning and seeing the owner. This man floated through the darkness, looking relaxed despite his appearance.

Several broken tubes ran from his crimson wrists, appearing to slither to some place in the darkness, far beyond sight. His skin, torn and white, contrasting with the void. So much so he appeared to actually glow. His eyes...they were as green as James'.

Groaning in pain, Alex stared at James, feeling more liquids flood into his veins. "So you were the other one here." James appeared shocked, looking around. "No, this is no illusion Mr. Hijacker." As he said this, Alex drifted towards James, who was trembling. "Scared of the abomination aren't we? Don't worry, we can be freaks together." At this Alex ripped out James' throat with his now canine sharp teeth.

Watson jumped when James shot awake. James was feeling his throat, gasping for air. Running over, Watson wrapped his arms around James, and held him for a second or two before being launched through the wall. Confused and scared, Watson got back up to see James holding his arms out, palms exposed. They were smoking. James slowly stood up, staring at his hands, horrified. "He did it." "Jamie..? When could you..?" Whispered Watson as he walked slowly to the smoldering hole in the wall. Panicking, James folded his hands under his arms "Stay back! He mutated me! Alex mutated me!"

Alex floated in the void, watching. The poor fool mutated them, not him. "Kill the fucker!" Yelled the voice. He ignored it, it already screwed him over once. Maybe he should warn the boy about... this. He wasn't completely heartless after all. A gentle pull started to reel him to the origin of his tubes. He let them pull him, his earlier attempt to resist ended poorly. He needed to see how damned he was anyway.
