Surprise surprise, the sketches I did of Malcolm last week (or was it two weeks ago? I've lost all perception of time) were a warm up before I attempted a more detailed piece. And I think it turned out pretty well!

Also, I regret to inform everyone that I have succumbed to another WIP. In my defense, though, I've made a lot of progress on both Van Terra 2 and The Pyramid Chronicles 2!

But uh here are some new characters, their designs aren't really final and I'm still figuring out how to draw them but!! I'm in love with them. I absolutely gave up on sketching the hands lmao.

Oh ALSO I was thinking about how wild it is that in superhero/sci-fi/fantasy movies a scrawny dude will get superpowers and get hella tall and buff, but whenever a girl gets superpowers she's just like. the same. MAKE HER TALL AND BUFF YOU COWARDS.

And there's also this guy, who I absolutely hate. And I don't mean that in a jokey way like with Malcolm where he's also one my favorite characters. This guy SUCKS.

Seriously I have all these big dramatic emotional scenes planned for Van Terra, Pyramid Chronicles AND this new WIP and I can't write them without my brain saying "okay but what if it was raining really hard to make it sadder >:)"
