Chapter 1: The Journey begins
A/n: Hello my fellow readers! Here is the next chapter to this story, sorry if it took me awhile to update it. But enough out of me let the chapter begin!
Y/n's pov
After Amaterasu was awakened from her sleep as a statue, we were told to enter the large tree that I can see a rather large Singler peach attached to one of the branches. Wasting no time we enter the tree through the opening, which we end up in some kind of endless night with stars and the moon present.
Issun: Where are we?
Y/n: Beats me, I'm still rather new to this whole thing.
Amaterasu: This does seem familiar, but something's not right. It's too quiet.
Issun: Now that you mention it, it did get awfully quiet all of a sudden. I don't remember any place like this in the village. Well , we better keep our eyes peeled.
We then walked towards the bridge ahead of us, but I notice something catching Issun's eyes and I follow what he is looking at. To see a podium with a mirror that has light shining down and reflect off the mirror, to shine down onto the podium itself.
Issun: Hold on! That's an Origin Mirror!
Y/n: An Origin Mirror? What is so important about mirror?
Issun: You fool! The Origin Mirror is important artifact! They say once your reflection appears on it's surface... Your memories will be stored in the mirror for all eternity!
Y/n: I guess that is interesting, but I would rather not have my memories be stored.
Amaterasu: Why not?
Y/n: Reasons.
The two shrug at my answer and we cross the bridge to reach the other end to see more plains and some pots on the ground, Which I got a good look what's bellow us. But it was nothing but clouds covering the potentially infinite bottom, but my attention was drawn away by the sound of a broken pot.
I turn to see that Amaterasu with Issun on her shoulder, breaking one of the pots on the ground, which the said sun goddess look towards my direction and see the disapproval look on my face. Amaterasu gained a nervous smile on her face and tries to at innocent, while Issun on the other hand has a look that said "no regrets."
Y/n: Okay, 1. Why did you break the pots and 2. Whose idea was it, cause I can guess a certain insect was responsible.
Amaterasu: *nervous tone* Well, Issun told me if I break those pots, I can get things from them.
Issun: No Regrets!
Getting the answer I needed, I grabbed Issun and start crushing him between my pointer finger and thumb. Of course, not enough to kill him just with enough strength to make him feel pain. After I was done Issun slowly falls to the ground like paper, while I hear Amaterasu laughing due to what she was seeing in front of her.
Issun: Oh come on! Those pots were just left there, plus we got some yen out of it. Even you should know that having money on hand is important.
Y/m: True, but you can't ust break random pots lying around. They could belong to someone.
Amaterasu: I can see where your going with that, Y/n. But I'm pretty sure these pots didn't belong to anyone, cause who in their right mind leave pots here?
Y/n: Got me there. Let's keep moving.
We then continue to make our way, which then leads us to a dead end and seeing that we need to find a way up. It looks possible for me to help Amaterasu up, by letting her climb on me to reach for the edge of the top. But it does seem that Issun notices something that I have no knowledge of.
Issun: Whoa, whoa, hold on furball and Human! Get a load of that!
Me and Amaterasu look around, until we both see a chest at the top of the ledge. I look at it with a raised eyebrow wondering how I not noticed that chest, but I brush it aside for now and continue to what Issun has to say.
Issun: That chest looks mighty tempting. Let's go check it out.
Y/n: All I'm going to say is, if it's a mimic then that's your fault Issun.
Amaterasu/Issun: Mimic?
Y/n: Not important.
I was about to suggest that I boost Amaterasu up so that she could reach the ledge, but the said wolf goddess picks me up effortlessly and jumps into the air. But also seemed to perform a second jump allowing us to reach the top of the ledge. Then Amaterasu puts me back down on my own two feet.
Y/n: Thanks.
Amaterasu: *winks with a smile* Any time!
3rd pov
Y/n then walks up to the chest and opens the chest, but all he pulled out from the chest was a small bone. Which Y/n gives the bone a raised eyebrow, but then looks towards Amaterasu has a look of interest with her tail wagging.
Amaterasu: Nice! We found a Holy bone!
Y/n: Uh, a Holy bone?
Amaterasu: Yes, it's an item that is used to heal wounds! Keep it packed, who knows when it would be useful.
The two then gathered some yen that were inside of the abandoned bots, which the two then notice that the bridge for them to move forward.
Issun: Looks like the bridge is out.
Y/n: Yeah... *looks to Amaterasu* You think you can get us across?
Amaterasu: Maybe, if I time my jump right.
Issun: That won't be necessary. Listen Ammy... Ever heard of the Spirits of the Brush?
Amaterasu: I think so...
Y/n: You know what it is, Issun?
Issun: That's right, Y/n boy. Good brushstrokes has it's own soul, least that's what they say.
Y/n: Whose they?
Issun: Eh, it doesn't matter. But you two just watch, cause it will take all day to explain. A picture is worth a thousand words, right?
Both Y/n and Amaterasu watch as Issun pulls out a brush and paper, that seems to already have the image of the broken bridge on it. While Y/n looks on closely to see that, Issun is drawing on the picture and makes the bridge whole on the picture. In response to Issun's drawing, the broken bridge glows with a bright light. The light then dies down to reveal the once broken bridge, now completely whole again.
Y/n: Wow...
Issun: Nice, huh? Just a little technique I've mastered called "Rejuvenation." It's one of my many brush technique that uses divine powers. It's a brush god power that can restore broken or missing things.
Amaterasu: That's good to know.
Issun: Thanks, I've practiced really hard just to master this one technique.
Y/n: So, is that the only one you can use or can you learn an master more tehcniques?
Issun: I can learn and master more. We just need to find some if possible. For now, let's keep going.
The three of them walk across the bridge, while Issun rides Amaterasu's shoulder. Once the two made it across the bride, they can see a doorway that has a bright light shining through it, and the three see a stone with words on it.
Y/n: The River of the Heavens?
Issun: Wait, as in the fabled Stardust river?
The three of them then look on ahead and look down, only to see clouds blocking bellow them.
Issun: But I sure don't see anything like that here. It couldn't be that little puddle over there, could it?
Y/n: No idea, we should look around. I'll stay over here and look around this area, like trying to find some kind of way to reveal it.
Amaterasu: Okay, I'll go look over that hill.
They split up with Amaterasu and Issun going to the hill, while Y/n looks around the area to find anything useful or some way to reveal the River of the Heavens. Which Y/n took the time to think of what Sakuya had told him and Amaterasu, and glances at his sword. But then he looks to the stars and sees four stars, that seem to make a constellation, but it seems to be incomplete. But then a star shined in the sky completing the constellation, making a dragon.
Y/n: It seems Amaterasu and Issun must've found a way.
but to his surprise the constellation came to live and brighten up the sky, Y/n runs up the hill to meet up with his two companions. Once he got up there, Y/n got a good look at the dragon which had pure white scales, red mark on it's face and what appears to be a scroll attached to it's body.
dragon: Ah... Why, if it isn't mother Amaterasu. I apologies for not contacting you sooner during these long years. Having never forgotten you, I, Yomigami, god of restoration, have eagerly awaited this day when we could meet again.
Amaterasu: It's fine, Yomigami. But could you please not call me mother, I do not have a child of my own yet, nor am I married.
Y/n: Um, sorry if I'm intruding here.
Yomigami: *looks to see Y/n along with carrying the Tessaiga* Ah, the wilder of the Tessaiga. I apologies for not noticing your presence sooner.
Y/n: It's cool.
Yomigami: Now, that both of you are here. Allow me to tell you two what has transpired.
To Be continue
A/n: And Done! I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter, sorry if this wasn't longer like how I would usually do it. But I didn't want to bore you of some of just dialogue, with little to know combat action. But I do hope I can catch you guys in the next one.
