Who lives, who dies, who tells your story
[Washington:]
Let me tell you what I wish I'd known
"Wait, haven't we already heard this song?" Jefferson asked puzzled.
When I was young and dreamed of glory
You have no control:
[Washington and Company:]
Who lives
Who dies
Who tells your story?
"And Lin told mine. 200+ years later. Who would have guessed?"
[Burr:]
President Jefferson:
"I became the president, I became the president!" Jefferson sang while the others just looked at him weirdly.
[Jefferson:]
I'll give him this: his financial system is a work of genius
They all turned towards him once more. "What?!" He asked, blushing.
I couldn't undo it if I tried
And I tried
That could hear the people in the theatre laugh, and they all let out a little chuckle.
[Washington and Company:]
Who lives
Who dies
Who tells your story?
"Apparently, children learn about us at school, so I mean: basically everyone." "Shut up Alexander."
[Burr:]
President Madison:
"What?! Maddison also got to be president!?" "Yeah, he wasn't exactly good at it though." Burr whispered to Hamilton.
[Madison:]
He took our country from bankruptcy to prosperity
"Yes, yes I did."
I hate to admit it, but he doesn't get enough credit for all the credit he gave us
"Oh my god." Lafayette commented. He had never imagined that Hamilton would be forgotten. "Wait, is this what they meant in the first song, when they said 'America forgot him'? Did Alex get no credit and therefore the people forgot him?" John asked. He looked a bit panicked. It was easy to understand why though, Hamilton was his best friend *cough* boyfriend *cough*, and no one wanted to deal with an upset and raging Alexander Hamilton.
[Washington and Company:]
Who lives
Who dies
Who tells your story?
[Angelica:]
Every other founding father's story gets told
"Wow."
Every other founding father gets to grow old
"Did we really all die that you?" Washington asked.
[Burr:]
But when you're gone, who remembers your name?
"Apparently not America."
Who keeps your flame?
[Burr and men (Angelica and women):]
Who tells your story?
(Who tells your story?)
Who tells your story? (Your story?)
[Women:]
Eliza
"What?"
[Eliza:]
I put myself back in the narrative
"Oh my god. She told his story!" Hercules whispered in realisation.
[Women:]
Eliza
[Eliza:]
I stop wasting time on tears
I live another fifty years
"Fifty?!" Alexander chocked out."
It's not enough
"It's not?"
[Company:]
Eliza
[Eliza:]
I interview every soldier who fought by your side
"She really loved you, even after everything that happened." Washington muttered.
[Mulligan/Lafayette/Laurens:]
She tells our story
"Wow, that is all I have to say. Wow."
[Eliza:]
I try to make sense of your thousands of pages of writings
"Take note of the 'try'." Jefferson said. Hamilton looked at him with a slightly offended look. "Eliza was very smart, Jefferson. I want you to know that."
You really do write like you're running out of
[Eliza and Company:]
Time
"I did, and I'm sorry about that." He said with a tear running down his cheek.
[Eliza:]
I rely on
[Eliza and Angelica:]
Angelica
"You where both amazing." "I found them scary." Jefferson whispered to Burr.
[Eliza:]
While she's alive
[Eliza and Angelica:]
We tell your story
"They really cared."
[Eliza:]
She is buried in Trinity Church
[Eliza and Angelica:]
Near you
"Do you think that church is still there? I would like to go there." Hamilton sobbed.
[Eliza:]
When I needed her most, she was right on
[Eliza and Company:]
Time
[Eliza:]
And I'm still not through
"What more could you have done?" Washington asked himself.
I ask myself, "What would you do if you had more?"
[Eliza and Company:]
Time
"I would have tried to spend more time with you and our children. I'm so sorry for burying myself I work and forgetting you."
[Eliza:]
The Lord, in his kindness
He gives me what you always wanted
He gives me more
[Eliza and Company:]
Time
[Eliza:]
I raise funds in D.C. for the Washington Monument
"What? There's a monument? Called... the Washington monument?" Washington asked the others. They just shrugged. "You should ask Y/N or Lin about it later." Hercules answered.
[Washington:]
She tells my story
"Yeah, apparently she did."
[Eliza:]
I speak out against slavery
"Why aware everyone against slavery?!" "Shut up Jefferson. It's wrong and you know it."
You could have done so much more if you only had
[Eliza and Company:]
Time
"That is true, but I regret not spending more time with you."
[Eliza:]
And when my time is up, have I done enough?
"You have! You so absolutely have!"
[Eliza and Company:]
Will they tell our story?
"They do." Burr said kindly.
[Eliza:]
Oh. Can I show you what I'm proudest of?
"You did more?!" They all exclaimed with surprise in their voices.
[Company:]
The orphanage
"What?"
[Eliza:]
I established the first private orphanage in New York City
"You did?" Alexander, could feel the tears falling freely down his face now.
[Company:]
The orphanage
[Eliza:]
I help to raise hundreds of children
I get to see them growing up
"Oh my god."
[Company:]
The orphanage
[Eliza:]
In their eyes I see you, Alexander
I see you every
[Eliza and Company:]
Time
"You where so amazing, Betsy. I loved you so much."
[Eliza:]
And when my time is up
Have I done enough?
[Eliza and Company:]
Will they tell my story?
"They are, they are telling your story. You did it. You did all of this, Eliza." John said, while gripping Alexanders hand.
[Eliza:]
Oh, I can't wait to see you again
It's only a matter of
[Eliza and Company:]
Time
At this Alexander let out a chocked sob, he would never see her again.
[Company:]
Will they tell your story?
(Time...)
Who lives, who dies, who tells your story?
(Time...)
Will they tell your story?
(Time...)
Who lives, who dies
[Full Company:]
Who tells your story?
They all held their breath as they saw 'alexander' lead 'Eliza' to the front of the stage. She looked out at the people in front of her, and gasped.
All the men looked at each other with tears in their eyes. They looked around themselves and saw that Chris was not sitting in his seat anymore, but was standing close to the stage with a microphone in his hands. Then, the lights went out.
What's up folks?! I'm done with the musical!!!! A lot of you people have been asking me if I'm going to continue writing this book. The answer is.....*drummroll*
YESSSS! I am continuing this book. I'm not done with it yet! I have some plans.
