Marissa was straightening her hair. Benito had invited her and Eve to his last show in LA for the year. This time they had VIP tickets and backstage access, something Marissa enjoyed a lot due to her not liking big crowds. He was still in her apartment, packing his bag with the outfit he was gonna wear after the concert. Benito was gonna take her and Eve to the venue, also something Marissa liked, she could finally drink something and she didn't have to look for a parking spot. "You look so different with straight hair." Benito commented, when he checked up on her. Marissa looked at him through the mirror and smiled. "That's the point." she answered, grabbing another strand. Her hair was long and curly and it took her ages to straighten it, so she barely ever did it. "It looks good though, the make up too." Benito said, walking up to her. He placed a kiss on her shoulder when he reached her. "Thank you." she gave back, her cheeks turning red. "What are you gonna wear?" Benito asked her, placing another kiss on her shoulder but closer to her neck now. Marissa lowered the straightener and leaned herself against him. "You will see, when I'm done with my hair." she replied. Benito smiled, let go of her and stepped back. He looked back at her when he left the bathroom. Since he needed to wait, he sat down on her couch and pulled his phone out. A sigh escaped his lips. It was his last night in LA, he would go back to Puerto Rico the next day and he knew that he was gonna miss her. Absentmindedly, he was scrolling through his TikTok. The sounds of heels on wooden floor made him look up. It was the first time he saw Marissa in high heels outside of her work. She was wearing a tight fitting floral dress, black stilettos and his necklace around her neck. Marissa barely ever wore eyeshadow but this time she did and it matched the red and orange colors of her dress. Her lips looked glazed - she had put on some red lipliner and a gloss - and her long hair was framing her face perfectly. Benito bit his lip, causing her to roll her eyes and shake her head. "You just love to tease me, don't you?" he asked. "Just a little bit." Marissa gave back. She knew what she was doing and she also knew that Benito was a sucker for her curves.
Eve was giving Benito the side eye. She knew about his and Marissa's situation and she wasn't a fan of it at all. In her opinion, her best friend deserved better than a man that just wanted to fuck every time he came to LA. Although Marissa had told her that it was mutual and that she didn't mind, she knew her friend too well to believe that. Maybe it had been true in the first few weeks but Eve had always been good at knowing when Marissa had a crush. She was conflicted because Benito was one of her idols but she also wanted to protect the girl she had known almost all her life. However, Eve also noticed that Benito was glued to Marissa, he had his hand placed on her thigh and he was the one who asked the two girls to take a picture. She had a bad feeling about the evening. Eve just knew something was gonna happen. The car slowly pulled into the venue. Marissa was looking out the window and could see a long line waiting in front of the entrance. Benito watched her, no he was actually admiring her, while Eve kept and eye on him. When the car stopped at the back entrance of the arena, Benito got out first, followed by the two girls. Instinctively, he grabbed Marissa's hand, causing her to look down at their intertwined fingers surprised. The staff of the venue also gave them looks, some of his dancers even started giggling, something that didn't sit right with Eve. Both, Benito and Marissa, weren't paying any attention to all of it. He was leading her towards his dressing room. The three of them entered the small room. There was a couch in the middle of the room, facing the left wall where a TV was hanging. "Sit down, ladies, I'll go change. If you want to drink something, take anything out of the fridge. Benito said, closing the door behind him, then he left into the attached bathroom.
The concert had been great. Whenever Benito had had the chance on stage, he looked at Marissa in the crowd. She was dancing with Eve and had a blast. In the middle of the show, somebody tapped her on the shoulder. "Mari!" she heard behind her. She turned around and stood face to face with a familiar boy. "Lucas?" she asked surprised. The tall blonde boy nodded and hugged her, then he greeted Eve the same way. Lucas was Eve's youngest brother - she had 3 older ones and him - and he had moved abroad to study. "Oh my god, what are you doing here?" Marissa asked excitedly. „Eve told me you guys were gonna be here. I came home for Mom's birthday." he explained. Benito saw that she hugged him again and he got angry. He knew that feeling but he hadn't felt it in a long time. He started dancing with one of the dancers, something that wasn't planned but the fans loved it. Both Eve and Marissa looked at what was happening on stage, when the crowd errupted in screaming. Benito was full on making out with one of the dancers he had slept with multiple times. The fans were used to this, it was not the first time. Marissa felt a stinging pain in her chest, while Eve was fuming. For the rest of the concert, Marissa wasn't dancing anymore, she was just staring at the stage. As soon as the lights came back on, a security guard came over to the two girls and asked them to follow him. "Can he come too?" Eve asked, pointing at Lucas who held up his hand to show the VIP band on his wrist. The guard eyed him, then nodded. The three of them were lead into the dressing room where they could hear the shower. Lucas was nervous, he was also a big fan of Benito. For ten minutes straight, him and Eve were catching up, while Marissa was silently sitting next to them. She tried to process what she had seen on stage. Why did he do that? Had he done that at every show? When the door to the bathroom opened, Benito came out in a pair of blue lose jeans and a black hoodie. He smiled at the girls but frowned when he saw Lucas. "I hope you don't mind, we brought my little brother." Eve said slowly. Benito eyed him, then looked at Marissa who was not paying him any attention. "No, esta bien." he said. Eve smiled and let her brother talk to his idol. She looked back at her best friend. Marissa wasn't crying but she looked tired and like she wanted to be anywhere but on that couch. When Benito had finished talking to Lucas, he walked over to the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water. "You okay?" he wanted to know directed at Marissa. It still bothered him that Lucas and her had hugged, it still bothered him that the two of them were close. "Yeah." Marissa gave back shortly. "You guys read for the club?" Benito asked, before drinking from his bottle. "Oh, I'm 20, so I can't go." Lucas responded a little disappointed. "Okay, well, I'll let my driver know to drop you off." Benito told him. Although he was jealous, he was polite.
A limousine was waiting for them at the backdoor. Apparently, the four of them were the last ones. Marissa got in first, then Eve, Lucas and Benito. They were greeted by Gabs, Bernie, a younger boy, looking just like Benito, and some of the dancers, including the girl Benito had made out with. On the way to the car he had completely ignored Marissa, which made her feel terrible. Luckily, she had been seated next to Gabs who immediately hugged her and started a conversation, it brought her good mood back. After they had dropped Lucas off at Eve's apartment, they drove off to downtown LA. "How have you been?" Gabs asked Marissa who had been handed a glass of champagne by Bernie. Marissa almost drank the whole glass in one go, then started nodding. "Good. Life's boring but it's good." she responded. The two girls kept talking, while Eve was having a conversation with Raúl across from her. After 30 minutes, the car stopped and the whole group got out. It was the same club where Benito and Marissa had met. Danny, Eve's oldest brother and owner of said club, was already waiting for them. He greeted all of them and hugged Marissa and Eve. Again, Benito's blood started boiling. Once they got inside, Marissa let herself fall onto the couch. She wanted to go home because she felt like she didn't belong there. Although Bernie and Gabs did their best to somehow make her feel netter, all she could think about was Benito and his dancer. On top of that, she had to see that again right there at the club. Eve watched for a little while, then she got up. She needed to teach this dude a lesson. "What do you think you're doing?" she shouted over the music, loud enough for everyone to hear. He stared at her confused. "I'm dancing." he responded, shrugging. "You know what I'm talking about!" Eve snapped angrily. Everyone on the couch was staring at them now. Marissa knew where this was going, so she stood up and tried to pull Eve away. "Don't, let's just leave." she said. "No, somebody needs to say it." Eve gave back, pulling her shoulder from Marissa's grip. Benito was still angry and he now let it out. "I told her, I was for the streets, if she didn't wanna believe it then that's on her." he responded to the blonde girl in front of him. Gabs looked at Bernie with a concerned facial expression. She knew exactly why he was behaving that way, she had seen Lucas hug Marissa and she had also seen Danny and she also knew that in the second Benito had realised that he was jealous, he had panicked. He was pushing Marissa away, so he wouldn't fall for her. "And that justifies being a dick?" Eve questioned. "That justifies making out with another girl in front of her?" she continued, when Benito stayed quiet. "That's just how I am. Live with it or leave." Benito replied, looking directly at Marissa who felt tears brim in her eyes. Eve scoffed at him and shook her head. The two girls left the club. Benito felt horrible but he kept telling himself he had done the right thing.
