Raven was hardly paying attention on the way home, her head was all muddled up with thoughts of what she was going to say- what she was going to do.
"Mum!" Renan squealed loudly. Raven slammed on the brakes, and the car screeched to a stop. Renan sounded vaguely irritated as he spoke again.
"You- awmost ran over- dat!" He pointed out the front windshield. Raven stared at the heshen bag in the middle of the road, wondering what was inside. Whatever it was, it was fairly sizeable, about the size of a microwave, maybe a bit smaller. It would have made a terrible dent in the car bumper. Then, as she watched, it began to move. Whatever was inside was alive.
"Wait here, buddy." She muttered, and got out of the car, leaving her door open. They were in a quaint little secluded street in suburban L.A. and here, in the middle of the road, was a squirming heshen bag, all cable tied at the top.
Cautiously, she reached down, her fingers gracing the rough fabric. She glanced around, and then she picked it up carefully. It yowled and hissed, and she realized that there was a very angry cat within the bag. She ran back towards the car, still carrying the cat along with her, and opened the passenger side door to place the cat inside.
She decided to bring it along with them back home. Whoever owned it before obviously wasn't a very good carer.
"Mommy, whad- is it?" Renan questioned,
"It's a cat."
"A kitty!?" He sounded suprised.
"Yeah, sweetie, and it's coming home with us."
"Yay!" Renan sounded very happy. Raven smiled at the road ahead, and pressed the accelerator pedal down again. The car roved into motion, and they were on their way once more.
Once they arrived at the house, she took a pair of scissors and the cat into the laundry and gently cut the bag open. She was about to let the cat out of the bag- Literally. This was slightly amusing to her.
Raven opened it right up, and let the cat come out of its own accord. First she saw a nose poke out, closely followed by a snowy white face and body. It turned its crystalline eyes to her, one green and one blue shining out at her like gemstones. Raven's mouth hung open for a moment, and then she reached forward slowly and ever so gently stroked its head. A purr erupted deep in its chest, and it pushed its head up into her hand, luminous eyes gleaming. Slowly, she stroked its body. Down over its head, its neck, and gracefully curving down its spine. The cat meowed softly. Raven petted it again, and this time noticed the bloated belly.
"Hm... I'll have to take you down to the vet's. Get you your vaccinations, and have you wormed." She spoke, even though the cat couldn't understand her. Gently, she rubbed her hand down over the bulging stomach of the white cat. Something pushed against her hand and moved across her palm. Her eyes widened as the cat mewled, gazing at her.
"You're not pregnant, too?" What a huge coincidence. "That's... okay." Raven sighed. She would have to buy more cat food.
But before anything else, she should bath their new addition.
Raven moved to the laundry sink and turned the water on. The cat just sat exactly where she left it, gazing up at her.
Once the sink was full, Raven got the pet shampoo out from under the sink and placed it on the side. Now all she had to do was get the cat in the water and wash it.
Easier said then done.
By the time she was finished cleaning and de-fleaing the cat -not that she was even sure it needed de-fleaing -she was covered in scratches and soapy water.
Raven left the towel dried cat in the laundry and went to get fresh clothes and a towel for herself. Once dry, she settled on a loose fitting black t-shirt and a pair of jeans, and made her way to the kitchen to get food for the cat.
Soon, she was placing a bowl of cat food down for her to eat, which disappeared very quickly. Raven petted her white fur and just sat with her for a while, trying to think of a name.
"Buttons." She decided, and then rose and opened the door. Buttons poked her head around the corner, tail twitching. Lupus slunk in from outside, lifted his nose, and turned his head to see Buttons there. His tail lifted and his ears perked up.
Buttons' tail, however, was down. Lupus came trotting over, sleek black fur bristling, and big green eyes shining. He came right up to Buttons and rubbed his head along her shoulder. Buttons' tail lifted too, and she butted her head against him affectionately.
Well at least she wouldn't have to worry about them not getting along.

She supposed she should get onto telling everyone about her pregnancy, then.
Okay. This was going to be rough.
Gilby first, she decided.
Raven dragged her feet all the way to the phone, dialed his number, and waited while it rang. Nerves ate at her stomach, she fidgeted. The phone rang once, two times, three-
"Hullo?" Gilby's voice came through the telephone.
"Uh yeah- hey." She stammered,
"Oh- uhh what's up?" Gilby sounded sort of nervous suddenly.
"Congratulations." It was almost sarcastic, the way she said it.
"Huh?"
"You're- you're a dad." Her voice went squeaky. "I'm pregnant." And she slammed the phone back onto the receiver before she started crying. Tears poured down her cheeks. Okay. That was bad. Gilby didn't deserve that- but too late. She didn't think she had the nerve to pick it back up.
Alright next, Slash. She took deep breaths, and grabbed the phone again, punched in his number... held the phone to her ear. Slash took a little longer to pick up. Four rings sounded before she got his voice.
"Hey, who's there?" Slash sounded casual, bored almost.
"It- it's Raven." She gulped.
"Are you okay?" He questioned,
"No. I'm not okay, Slash. I've- I have made a huge mistake." She bit her lip. Slash waited, "I'm pregnant Slash."
"Oh Raven." He sighed, "not another drunk guy?" He asked.
"No."
"Well then... a stranger?"
"No Slash. I know the father." She muttered.
"You do, do you?" He sounded more and more upset. Raven felt terrible.
"Gilby." Raven whispered. Slash hung up this time. She understood why he was angry. Raven had lead him on, in a way. Boy did it hurt to be hung up on, though. Now she felt even worse for hanging up on Gilby.
Next, she called Axl.
"Hey." Axl spoke.
"Hullo." Raven must have sounded really upset.
"Hey, are you alright?"
"Nah. Not really." She shook her head. "Can you bring Erin and Duff please?" She asked, "and yourself of course."
"Yeah. Yeah right away!" Axl exclaimed, and then the phone cut out.
She only had to wait five minutes. The doorbell rang. Renan jumped up from the carpet in the loungeroom and beat her to the door. He reached up and opened it, and there stood Axl, his pregnant fiancé, Erin, and the extremely tall fluff of blonde hair that was Duff.
"Hey guys." Her voice cracked, and Renan turned around, suprised. He didn't know her state any better then the others.
Everyone had a look of concern on their faces as she invited them into the kitchen, and sat her little boy into his highchair. She stood in front of them, and broke the news.
"So... I went to the doctor, and I found out that I'm pregnant."
Axl's eyes nearly popped out of his head, Duff's mouth fell open, amd Erin looked like she didn't know what to do. "Gilby and I... had a bit too much to drink about a month and a half ago... and now I'm a month pregnant." She frowned deeply. Axl and Duff stepped around the table, both of them embracing her at the same time.
"We're here for you, Raven." Erin sent her a very sad looking smile. "And hey- we're pregnant together now!" Erin's smile grew a little bit wider. She and Axl were quite a few months pregnant by now.
A smile crept onto her face despite herself. "And now we can go baby shopping together, too!" Erin added.
"Baby?" Renan spoke. Raven had forgotten he was there. Duff and Axl stepped out of the way.
"Yes, Renan, you're gonna have a little baby brother or sister soon!" Erin grinned, and the three year old smiled back.
"Really?!" He sounded kind of excited, and looked to Raven for confirmation, who nodded. Renan grinned from ear to ear.
"Yay!" He exclaimed. Well at least somebody was happy.
Now she just had Gilby and Slash to worry about.
