These two stories are what specifically inspired a few aspects of this story. Although this isn't going to be KuroAkaBo, my favorite ship in the world, it will be AkaBo centered. I was just inspired a lot by yellow_bumblebees_  so much to really get writing because I have been in HaikyuuOmegaverse hell lately, and I've really been wanting to write one so thank you for giving me a small kick in the ass to finally get on it by providing the world with a deliciously angsty fanfic. As for Bokuto's Family, it really inspired how I want to write Bokuto and how he really should be perceived. He is a wonderful person who cares deeply about others and seeks to uplift them even if he can't feel it himself. That's actually where I came up with the title as well while SOBBING HYSTERICALLY. literally one of the best fan fictions I have read in a long time. Also, Welcome to Fukurodani on Archive of Our Own played a hand in how I wanted to write Bokuto as well and gave me the idea to have this be a Boarding School AU. It's still not finished and hasn't been updated in two years (so sad about it) so this is a way of me making my fucking dreams come true.

I was originally going to have it be an Alpha Bokuto Detective AU, where he is investigating a corrupt religious sect in which Akaashi was a high official but overall in the dark. I decided to do something similar, but them being forced to live together at the same time was too juicy to pass up--or rather them living in the same building.

2. A Bit on the Living Situation

So, I feel like the way I write the descriptions will be a tad confusing as far as the layouts go.

Each student gets a dorm and lives there for the next three years of school, and possibly more if they decide to stay for a year and study under one of their teachers and get paid as a TA for college credit.

The dorms have an RA on the Omegan floor (4th), and the other three floors are entirely Co-Ed.

The dorms also have a lobby and common room on the first floor, along with the teacher's apartment.

Each dorm building has a name and is named based on the planets (in Japanese but I will just be using the English versions).

Each room has bedrooms with bolts on the inside for heats and ruts, as well as separate ventilation to prevent triggering the roommates. The doors have little sliders that open for the student so that RA's, teachers, or roommates can bring them food without entering the room to interrupt the heat or rut and avoid being affected by the scents and pheromones released.

Double Rooms

These rooms are on the four corners of each dorm building, and mostly empty as most prefer to live in the four-person rooms. The bathroom is much smaller and more rectangular and there is a kitchenette inside the room. Most students eat in the cafeteria ("caf"), and there is a full kitchen with every appliance possible in the Common room, but there is a sink, stove, and room for a minifridge and microwave if the students choose to have one. There is a small row of cabinets above the sink and minifridge space. Most students get wallhanging TVs and angle them towards their chairs, or just use laptops or the common room. There is also a small round table with two high chairs for students to sit and eat at.

The furniture can also be removed or replaced with personal furniture. The rooms come with a wardrobe, desk, bed, and side table. Pretty much everything else is unincluded save for the kitchen appliances and small dining table. The two bedrooms also have different windows depending on the room that is picked and which corner, but pretty much everyone is the same as far as having one bedroom with a window as seen below, and the other on the other side has a longer and more rectangular window.

The bathroom has little cabinets under the sink and one built into the wall for storage of towels. There are little racks on the backs of the doors and walls for hanging caddies or wet towels.

Other Rooms

Most of the other rooms, save for the occasional RA or Teacher who live in small single apartments, look pretty much just like this. All the same things with the double room go for the four-person rooms, except the half bathrooms are smaller with storage cabinets built into the wall and none beneath the sink. These rooms come with a microwave and fridge as well. Basically everything is slightly smaller and closer to the conventions of how a typical dorm would be sized.

General House Rules

Omegas are only allowed to room with other Omegas and are kept on the fourth floor with an RA. Alphas and Betas are free to room with whom they please.

There is a curfew of 11:00 for each floor, and on the weekends they are given midnight. They are pretty free to roam and there are no required study periods.

There are some dorm events in the common room, as well as a small dining area that seats about 10-15 people and plenty of couches. Students can use whatever they want (board games, pool table, ping pong table, appliances & kitchen stuff) as long as they clean up after themselves. This is on the first floor past the lobby and teacher's room (there is one teacher in each dorm). These events typically center around sports, holiday celebrations, study groups, tutoring, and events specific to the dorm (like spaghetti or icecream nights, or popcorn and movies, that kind of thing).
