"Sometimes we do things that aren't good. And those things result in bad situations. This is one of those times."
"Appa what you talking about?"
"Nothing baby I'm just answering the voices in my head."
Hyunjin and Seungmin were in a very bad situation.
Stray Kids were on a world tour and had a concert two days ago in Dallas, TX.
The day after, Hyunjin wanted to take Seungmin down to their next location in Houston a day early so he could see NASA.
Unfortunately, that was 24 hours ago. Hyunjin and Seungmin still haven't made it to Houston.
In fact, they had no idea where they were.
"We're screwed. Seungmin, it's time to write a letter on an old piece of paper and leave it in a field for the investigators to find in three months."
"Appa, we be okay! Maybe we walk to hyungies and Innie."
"Seungmin I have no idea where we are. We could be 100 miles in the wrong direction for all I know."
"I told you we use Google maps, appa."
"Yeah, you did. And I followed Google maps and here we are somewhere in the southern United States with dead phones, a car with no gas, and surrounded by wheat fields."
Seungmin looks around.
"I think we lost appa."
Hyunjin had to fight the urge to say "no shit sherlock" to his baby and instead just took another deep breath.
They hadn't left the spot where their car broke down, and Seungmin was still sitting in the vehicle.
"Chan is probably freaking out. It's been 36 hours since we talked to anyone. They've probably reported us missing. I bet the FBI is looking for us."
Hyunjin sat on the side of the car.
Seungmin got out and sat next to him.
"Appa, we could walk down street. Maybe we find house?"
"I guess. Better than sitting here."
They stood up together and started walking.
All they could see for miles were crops and the occasional scarecrow.
"On the road again...oh I can't wait to get on the road again..."
"Going places that I never, ever been..."
"Oh I can't wait to get on the road again~"
They sang together as they walked, hoping the time would pass and they could at least come upon a house.
To their shock, the sound of a car engine came up behind them.
They turned around and saw an old Nissan pulling up. It stopped near them.
"Hey there! That your vehicle back there?", the man asked.
"Yes, it is. Can you help us sir?", Hyunjin responded.
"Of course! I'd be a sin of a man to let two people walk in this heat all by their lonesome. Get in."
Hyunjin and Seungmin gladly got into the back of the man's Nissan.
"Sir, do you know where we are?", Hyunjin asked.
"I sure do. You fellas are just outside of Waggoner Ranch. Over half a million acres of land here."
"I don't get it...we were headed to Houston. We got lost."
"Houston? Poor guy, you're in the wrong direction. You came North. Houston is way South of here."
Hyunjin and Seungmin look at one another.
"I told you we lost.", Seungmin said.
"I know baby."
The man laughs.
"Lucky for you I'm headed down to the gulf for work. I'm passing through Houston."
"Really?! You'd drive us?"
"It'd be my pleasure. What's your names?"
"I'm Hyunjin and this is Seungmin. We're members of a kpop group."
"I can tell. Your clothes are a give away. Heh, wait until my granddaughter hears I picked up two of them handsome men she listens to."
"Sir, do you have a phone?", Hyunjin asked.
The man hands Hyunjin his phone.
"Passcode is 1847."
Hyunjin opens the phone and immediately goes to make a call to the hotel the boys should be at.
The phone rings and is picked up.
"Hello?"
"Hello this is Hwang Hyunjin. Member of Stray Kids. Can I speak to one of them?"
"Yes sir. They've been looking for you."
The receptionist forwards the call.
It's picked up seconds later by Chan.
"Hello?", he answers, sniffling.
"Chan hyung?"
"Hyunjin?! Hyunjin holy shit where are you?! Are you okay?! Do I need to come get you?! Where's Seungmin?!"
"Hyung were okay. We got lost somehow in North Texas. A man found us and he just so happens to be going down South. He's bringing us to Houston."
Obvious crying could he heard on the other end of the phone.
"I was so, so scared something bad happened. We tried to call and text but no answer. I'm just so happy you're okay."
"We're fine. Just hot. Very hot. Also Seungmin wants to talk to you."
"Put him on the phone."
Hyunjin hands the little the phone.
"Hi grampa!"
"Hi Seungmin! Are you being good for your appa?"
"I best boy for appa! I miss you."
Hyunjin could hear Chan scream.
"You're so cute! I can't wait to see you."
"Me either grampa."
After talking to Chan for approximately an hour and seventeen minutes, they gave the man his phone back.
Hyunjin was happy things were now in order. All they had to do was get to Houston.
"Sir, can I ask you something?"
"Go ahead kid."
"How far are we from Houston?"
"About six hours."
"Ah okay. Good."
"My question is how you got lost."
Seungmin looked at Hyunjin with a "tell him the truth gaze".
"I used Google maps."
The old man laughs.
"Let me guess, you used Google maps for about thirty minutes then insisted you knew which way to go when you saw a familiar sign so you turned it off."
"How did you know?"
"I've lived in Texas my whole life. Done it at least six times."
The three laughed.
Seungmin leaned on Hyunjin.
"You tired baby?", Hyunjin asked.
Seungmin nodded.
"Well take a nap. I'll be here."
Seungmin smiled and closed his eyes.
"Make sure we not get lost again, appa."
"I will do my best. But if you wake up and we're in Oklahoma, blame the old man."
