Chapter Five

Blaire's POV
Amelia and her mum dropped me off at our house, and I was a little confused. Lucas almost always had his window open, and he would blare random music and make mum upset. His window was closed. I hurried in, calling for them.

"Mum? Dad? Lucas? Gracia? It's Blaire! I'm home! Lucy? Anyone?" I remembered what my parents had told me the day before, and my heart sank. I ran through the whole house, looking for them. I skidded into the living room, nearly in tears. No one was home. Mum and dad's keys and cell phones were still by the front door. Both cars were in the driveway. I grabbed a phone, dialing my grandparents number.

"Hello?" I heard Mimi's voice on the other end.
"Mimi, it's Blaire. Mum and dad, Gracia and the twins...they're gone, Mimi! They all disappeared! And I think....I think it's Jonathan and Isaac. Can....can you come over here?" I heard her yelling at Poppa to get ready to go, and then she responded to me.
"Blaire, we'll be there in a few minutes. Just take a deep breath, and calm down. Remember, God is in control. Keep the phone right with you." She hung up, and I collapsed on the couch, sobbing. This couldn't be happening. My parents, and all three of my siblings had disappeared. It was them.

Moriah's POV
I hung up, my heart pounding. Joel sat on the couch, his eyes widening.

"Is it.....is it them?" I nodded, and I could see the fear in his eyes. The mere thought of them terrified him, much less the idea of them having Jacob, Rachel, and the kids. I didn't want to believe it was true, but I knew it was them. We were out the door in minutes, and as I drove, I could tell that Joel was shaking. I put one hand on his knee, and then felt him put his hand on mine. We got to the house, and fairly soon, the police arrived. They checked the house, but they couldn't find anything. No prints, nothing broken, and the only thing missing was our family members. One officer was asking Blaire all these questions, where she was, what she was doing, who she was with.......They suspected her, but fairly quickly figured out that it wasn't her. Awhile later, she sat on the couch at our house, curled up into a ball, and cried herself to sleep. I sat across from her watching her, and my heart was breaking for her. She had opening night for Les Miserables tomorrow, and her parents probably wouldn't be there to see her.

"God will keep them safe." I whispered, tears trickling down my cheeks. I just prayed that they would actually come home alive and in one piece.
