The afternoon came in quickly. The day had been filled with the members comforting Baby Innie, making sure he felt okay enough to leave the house.
When they reached the practice room, the little was sat down on the couch while the members stretched and got ready.
"Could I just lay on the floor?", Seungmin asked, laying on the floor.
"Sure, if you want me to step on you.", Minho said calmly.
Seungmin got up.
After the members were done stretching, practice began.
Little Innie cheered them on as they danced, leaving a space for him the entire time.
Minho adjusted people wherever they needed, and they would continue after.
Of course, during every break, they would check on Innie, making sure the baby had what he needed and was okay.
But it was during one break in particular where things would change.
"Hyung, can I go get a water from the vending machine? I forgot my bottle at home.", Hyunjin asked shyly.
"Yeah. Go ahead. Be careful alright?", Minho said.
Hyunjin nodded.
He left the practice room, on a mission for the vending machine.
Truthfully, he also wanted to just take a walk.
Seeing the members comfort Baby Innie was a lot for him, as Little Jinnie wanted to be babied as well.
But they didn't even know about Little Jinnie.
All of this was on Hyunjin's mind as he reached the vending machines.
"Getting a drink?", someone said.
Hyunjin turned around.
A woman stood there, a bit shorter than him, but obviously much older.
"Yes ma'am. We've been practicing."
The woman looked Hyunjin up and down.
"Those drinks are expensive young man. I know you have money, but don't spend it all on that."
"Then...what should I do?"
"Come to my office. I have a stash of drinks there for you and your members if they need."
Hyunjin looked back at the vending machine.
What's the worst that could happen?
The woman held her hand out to him, and he took it, being guided down the opposite hallway to her office.
"I'm a writer here, you know?", she said.
"Really?"
"Yes. Have you evenr thought about writing?"
"Yeah. A few times."
She unlocked the door to her office.
Hyunjin walked inside in front of her and she came in after, closing the door and locking it.
"Well, I'm sure you would do amazing. Now, here are those drinks."
She opened a mini fridge containing bottles of water and energy drinks.
She handed Hyunjin a bottled water.
"Take a seat for a second. You look exhausted."
Hyunjin did as he was told, sitting down.
He opened his water, taking a sip.
The woman smiled at him.
"You're quite handsome you know?"
"Oh...thank you."
"Hihi, young men like you are just my type. But I'm an old lady...I could never have such a thing..."
Hyunjin started to feel a bit weird.
He was dizzy, and struggling to keep his eyes open.
"...that is...unless I take it."
He leaned back in his chair, unable to fight off the tiredness, closing his eyes again.
After a minute or two of silence, the woman tapped him on the face.
As she expected, he was fast asleep.
"Perfect."
--------------------------------------------------------------
Jeongin was playing rock, paper, scissors with Seungmin over a granola bar on the couch.
Chan paced the room.
"Minho, where did Hyunjin go?", he asked.
"He said he wanted to get a drink. He left his water at home."
"It's been like, ten minutes. I'm going to go see where he is."
Chan left the practice room, going towards the vending machine area.
He looked into doors along the way, not seeing Hyunjin.
When he reached the vending machines, Hyunjin wasn't there either.
"Hyunjin!", Chan yelled, "Hyunjin!"
He started to look around, getting more and more scared by the second.
Where could Hyunjin be?
Chan heard footsteps behind him, and turned to see Changbin.
"Can't find him?"
"Nope."
The pair joined together, scouring the building for Hyunjin.
"Where the hell could he have gone?", Changbin asked.
"I don't know...man...someone should have went with him."
As they were walking around the area, they heard a door opening and frantic running sounds.
"Chan, look!", Changbin said.
Chan turned around.
Running down the hallway at full speed, was Hyunjin.
"Hyunjin! Where were you?!"
Hyunjin ran into Chan's arms.
He was crying heavily, more than they had ever seen.
"Hyunjin, sweetie, what's wrong? What happened?"
Hyunjin made coughing noises, covering his chest with his left hand.
That's when Changbin noticed something.
"Chan, look at the marks on him."
Chan stood back a bit, looking at Hyunjin.
The poor boy was shaking, his jacket unzipped, and marks underneath where his hand was.
Chan also noticed what looked like finger shaped bruises on the boys wrists.
He looked at Changbin.
In that moment, they both knew what had happened.
Hyunjin started to cry loudly again, this time being hugged by Changbin.
"It's okay Hyunjin, we're here...don't cry..."
"It hurt! Jinnie hurt!"
Both Changbin and Chan could swear they just about shed tears at hearing Hyunjin's voice.
"Oh Jinnie...we shouldn't have let you go alone..."
The little whined as he was held, being led back to the practice room.
Chan made eye contact with a woman who stood down the hallway, watching.
But he kept walking, following his members.
They entered the practice room.
"Oh my gosh! Is he okay?!", Jisung asked.
"No. We need to leave. Come on guys, get your stuff.", Chan said.
Little Hyunjin refused to leave Changbin's side.
"Are you cold baby? Let me fix your jacket?", Changbin asked.
The little moved his hand.
Changbin thought his eyes were playing tricks on him.
"Is that...lipstick?"
Hyunjin didn't even look at him.
He couldn't. His eyes were fixated on the floor, tears falling ever so often.
Changbin carefully zipped up the littles jacket.
"I'll take care of you, okay? When we get home, I'll help you get cleaned up."
Hyunjin didn't respond, he just walked behind Changbin, still looking at the floor.
Little Jeongin walked by Hyunjin.
"Jinnie?", he asked.
Hyunjin wouldn't look at him.
Jeongin still held his hand.
"It okay Jinnie. I help you too."
The members got into the van that always waited for them after practice.
Hyunjin leaned on Changbin, not saying a word.
Chan looked back at him.
"Hyunjin sweetie?"
The littles eyes filled with tears again, threatening to fall.
Chan sighed, facing the front again as the van took off.
"I don't understand...who would do something like this? How could this happen again?", Felix asked.
"We will find out. We have to. No one leaves anywhere without another member, okay?", Minho said.
Everyone agreed.
Changbin held Hyunjin's cold hands in his own.
Little Jeongin leaned on his brother, offering moral support, despite being in the same situation.
Hyunjin just laid there.
All he could think about was that woman. Opening his eyes and seeing her...
It disgusted him.
He was both sad and angry.
Chan kept glancing back at him. And at Jeongin.
"I'm sorry this happened to you both. I take full responsibility, as someone should have been with you. If you're angry...feel free to take it out on me."
Jeongin sat up. He reached forward, patting Chan on the head.
"You...good hyung! No apologize!"
Chan smiled.
"Thank you."
"Hey Chan hyung?", Changbin asked.
"Yes?"
"Can Hyunjin sleep in my room tonight?"
