"I don't understand. Are you telling me Jeongin tried to end his own life?", Seungmin asked.

"Yes. And it's highly likely that he was panicking because he realized Felix had taken some of that stuff too somehow.", Jisung replied.

All of the members were at their hotel.

Jeongin and Felix were being rushed to the hospital.

The last image Chan had in his mind kept replaying. The emt's trying to get Jeongin's pulse back, but no matter how hard they tried it didn't work.

Chan could only hope they would both make it. Some way.

"So we just sit here and wait for news?", Hyunjin asked, wiping his eyes.

"Yeah. I guess.", Seungmin replied.

Chan sat on the edge of the bed, completely silent.

He blamed himself.

He had no idea Jeongin had reached this point.

"We need to figure this out. Because I'm confused.", Changbin said.

"About what?", Minho questioned.

"Jeongin seemed happy. He was fine when I talked to him. What would make him do this?"

"Do you have his phone?", Hyunjin asked.

"Yeah, right here."

"Let me see it."

Changbin handed Hyunjin the phone.

Hyunjin knew the pass code as he often used Jeongin's phone to secretly buy Twice albums from Amazon prime.

When he opened it, he saw tons of messages from Jeongin's father.

Hyunjin read them.

"What the f*** is this?!", he yelled.

Everyone gathered around the phone.

Messages containing some of the most horrible things someone could ever say to a person were on the screen.

The boys knew Jeongin had a terrible relationship with his father, but this was too far.

"He's calling him all sorts of names...telling him he should do better and that he's not making them proud like his siblings?", Chan said.

"What kind of dad would say this to his kid?"

"You think this is what drove Jeongin over the edge?", Seungmin asked.

"It seems like it. Man I already hated his dad. This just reinforces that hatred.", Changbin stated.

"Someone needs to set him straight. Look at these messages! These go months and months back!", Hyunjin said.

"We can deal with this when we get back home. Right now our main priorities are Jeongin and Felix.", Chan said.

The members agreed.

They all sat back down.

The silence was loud as they all knew they were thinking the same thing.

Jeongin had kept this from them. He was dealing with this alone and they had no idea.

"Let's put it all out on the table.", Chan said, "If anyone in this room has something they're dealing with. Tell us. Now."

The members looked at one another.

Minho cleared his throat, gaining their attention.

"Last week I lost a close friend of mine. He had attended our concert in Seoul and...didn't make it home."

"I'm so sorry Minho.", Jisung said.

"I'm okay. It's just...I didn't expect it."

The members each gave Minho a hug.

"Anyone else?", Chan asked.

Hyunjin spoke up.

"I wasn't going to say anything...but...I received a phone call from my dad this morning..."

His eyes started to tear up again.

"He's sick. And...he was told...that it was terminal."

"Oh my gosh, Hyunjin I'm so sorry. That's horrible.", Changbin said.

"I have blocked it out of my mind because I know that if I think about it...I'll just have it on my mind that he probably won't be there when we get back from tour..."

Chan hugged him.

"I told Jeongin about it. He promised to keep it a secret. But I guess he knew he wouldn't be able to say anything anyways..."

The members did their best to comfort Hyunjin.

Nothing seemed to be going good this past week.

And they couldn't see a way out of the darkness.

But maybe they could hope, and they could find a light somewhere to guide them back to happiness.

---------------------------------------------------------------

"Hey, am I dead?"

"What?"

"I'm serious."

"No, Felix. You're still alive."

"Good. I was concerned."

A few hours ago, Chan had gotten a phone call regarding the conditions of Felix and Jeongin.

Right now, he was with Felix, who had woken up and had so many questions about what the hell happened to him.

"Are you sure I'm not dead? This bright room seems like-"

"Felix you're not dead. If you are that means I am too because you're talking to me."

"You're right. You...are a smart man."

Chan was about mentally checked out already.

Seungmin walked in.

"Hey. How do you feel Felix?"

"I'm okay. A little weird though."

"I understand."

Seungmin and Chan made eye contact.

"How are they all doing?", Chan asked.

"Hyunjin and Jisung haven't stopped crying. Changbin and Minho are consoling them while trying not to cry themselves."

"Hmm."

"Why is everyone sad? What did I miss?", Felix asked.

Seungmin walked over to him.

"Felix..."

Seungmin couldn't hold back his tears anymore as he spoke.

"Jeongin didn't make it."

Felix looked at Chan, who had a blank expression.

"W-what?"

"We found out when they called us to tell us about your condition. They said that they tried absolutely everything. But it was too late."

Felix looked at the ground.

Suddenly, he began to cry, being hugged by Seungmin.

"I want my Innie!", Felix yelled.

"I know baby, I want him back too."

"No fair! No fair!"

Chan was so lost in his own thoughts he didn't even notice when the door opened again, and Minho stepped in.

"Guys?", he said.

"Hm?", Chan responded.

"Car is here. It's time to go. They said we can come back and see Felix tomorrow."

Chan nodded.

He hugged Felix, and Minho did the same before leaving.

As Chan was walking away, Felix called his name.

"Chan hyung!"

"Yes, baby?"

"I love you!"

"I love you too Felix. See you tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow!"

Chan closed the door to the room.

They would come back to see Felix in the morning before making plans to head back home. The tour was canceled so the members were set to go back to Seoul.

Except, that's now how things played out.

Overnight, Felix's condition took a turn for the worst.

As the hours went by, the situation got more and more dire.

And at approximately 6:31am the next morning, Chan was alerted by a very frantic Hyunjin crying uncontrollably.

He didn't expect to hear what Hyunjin told him.

"Hyung he's gone!", he younger screamed, "He's gone!"

And just like that, it was like the entire reality of the world around Chan hit him at once.

Hyunjin held onto him tightly, as if Chan would somehow disappear if he didn't.

"Why...", he cried, "He didn't mean to..."

--------------------------------------------------------------

"I eat quokka, I hope you realize that before you keep speaking.", Minho said.

"Oh well excuse me you Cat Noir reject."

"Reject? Reject?! You probably got rejected from being cast for Alvin and the Chipmunks!"

Five weeks had passed since the members returned home.

Things surely hadn't been the same.

Minho and Jisung argued all the time.

Changbin stopped leaving the house.

Seungmin rarely ever spoke to anyone.

Hyunjin stopped doing all of his hobbies, and stayed locked in his room 24/7.

Chan hasn't been able to write, or work at all.

It was just too much.

They were afraid it would never get better.

It was early afternoon and Minsung were arguing again over nonsense.

Everyone else blocked it out.

Chan decided to go for a walk. He needed to clear his mind.

He left without a word to anyone.

Picking a random direction, he walked down the sidewalk.

He had no aim to where he walked, he just needed to go.

It felt like time was slowed down as he passed streets filled with people, families, couples, kids, everyone.

He found himself at a Cafe.

It was almost empty inside apart from one other customer.

The air smelled like sugar and all the good things to eat.

Chan sat down. He wasn't hungry. He just wanted to enjoy the environment.

After about ten minutes, an older man walked in dressed in suspenders, a button up shirt, and a fedora.

The man noticed Chan looking at him.

"Hello sir! Wonderful day isn't it?"

"If you say so."

"Why the long face? Is something wrong?"

"A lot is wrong."

The man smiled. He walked to Chan, sitting down across from him.

"Tell me."

"Sir, I don't want to ruin your day."

"Haha, I see. You look like the type of young man in need of this."

The man pulled out a small box from the bag he carried.

It was a miniature record player.

"Here. Take it."

"Sir, I can't take your record player."

"No no, take it. You need it. I don't give things out like this if they aren't needed."

"How do you know I need it?"

"I know a lot about you Christopher."

Chan stared at the man.

"This record player will give you what you need."

The man stood up, walking away.

"But sir! I...don't know what I need."

The man looked at Chan.

"You need to do it all again. Think of it as...an encore."

The man left the Cafe.

Chan looked at the record player in his hands.

"Do it all again?"

Chan pressed play on the record player.

Within a few seconds, strange music was heard, followed by the world around him seeming to spin.

He closed his eyes, afraid of what would happen.

When he opened them again, the spinning had stopped.

He was still in the Cafe, but there were more people, and a different server.

"What the-"

His phone rang.

He picked it up, answering it.

"Uh...hello?"

"Chris, where are you? Did you get kidnapped?"

"Felix?"

"Who else! Now get home please. We have the very first day of our world tour tonight and we're going to be late because of you."

Chan looked at the record player again.

"An encore...I needed to do it again."

"What?"

"Nothing, Felix. I'm coming home. Also, I love you."

"Aww, I love you too. You're making me blush and stuff."
