My parents don't say this anymore, and I think it's because they realised the irony of it. So, good for them.

Here's something funny to say that might end in getting a whooping: When your mom or dad says "Kids in Africa would love this food," respond with, "Then give it to Africa."

It's a nice comeback I learned a bit ago.
