Under the sea, were the ninja in R.E.X. The boys looked ahead as the vehicle traversed through the waters of the Endless Sea, while (Y/n) and Remo looked through the glass, with the Master of Illusion humming 'under the sea'.

While doing so, she saw a red crab wave at her and waved back. Remo watched as a flounder swam past, giving him a wink before darting off.

''We're almost to the Tomb of the First Spinjitzu Master,'' Zane informed the others.

''Yeah. Can't believe we're almost there after all we've been through.'' Cole replied.

''I can't believe I'm underwater,'' Kai spoke as a fish swam past, ''slightly'' scared.

''You? What about me and (Y/n)? Just how thick this is this glass?'' The Spectral Earth Ninja asked, tapping on the glass a couple of times.

''We're heading to your location now. With Morro already ahead of you and able to foresee the traps protecting the tomb with the Sword of Sanctuary, it's going to be up to you four to find the Realm Crystal before he does.'' Wu informed the ninja, appearing on the screen.

''Hehe, Cole and (Y/n) are Ghosts, Kai can't swim, we have no magical sword or Elemental Powers.'' The Lightning Ninja said, nervously chuckling. ''What could go wrong?''

''I'm sure you just jinxed it.'' (Y/n) spoke.

''I may not know the three tests you're about to face, but I discovered a riddle that makes reference to it that may help: "A Spinjitzu Master can. A Spinjitzu Master cannot. To move forward, don't look ahead, to find his resting spot."'' Misako informed them.

''Huh. That's food for thought.'' Cole replied.

Jay caught sight of the leviathan, whose tentacles waved along with the current, behind them. ''Speaking of food, we're about to be some!''

''Ninja are friends, not food!'' Remo exclaimed, looking at it.

''We have to go faster. Much faster.'' Kai ordered Cole, who sped the vehicle up. The Leviathan cracked R.E.X's glass, making the Fire Ninja panic. ''Why did the tomb have to be underwater?''

''Hold on!'' The Master of Cake replied, making the vehicle go faster.

''Ugh! What kind of weapons is this thing equipped with?'' The Lightning Ninja questioned.

''We don't need weapons. Aim for that rock!'' Zane replied.

''On it,'' Cole told him, going through somewhere the Leviathan couldn't follow. They cheered as it got stuck, unable to continue on with its pursuit.

''Yeah! All right! Thatta Boy, R.E.X.! Thatta boy!'' Gingerninja exclaimed.

Ronin's temporary-underwater suited vehicle rose, and the ninja found themselves at the Tomb's entrance, which was in an underwater cave.

'Yay, just great...' (Y/n) found herself thinking, sighing.

''If you wanna hide a tomb, this looks like a good place. We're here.'' Cole said, him and the others hopping onto solid ground.

The Lightning Ninja picked up a small piece of torn-off piece of green cloth, evidence that the Master of Wind was already ahead of them. ''Argh! There goes any hope Morro couldn't find this place.'' Jay said.

''Hey, stay positive. We're about to risk our lives going through traps we know nothing about. All we have to rely on is each other. At least feel lucky we got this far.'' Kai replied.

''Oh, I'm sorry. You're right. What was I thinking? Hey, there goes any hope Morro couldn't find the tomb! We're not alone! Yay! Now we're gonna have to fight him again! Sure we got our tails handed to us last time, but you never know in the future, because Ninja never quit!'' Jay told him, sarcasm in his tone. He then changed to his usual tone. ''Better?''

''Eh, I'll take it,'' Kai said.

Frosty the Ice Ninja pointed to a statue lit with candles. ''Look!''

''The First Spinjitzu Master. Creator of all Ninjago.'' Cole said in realisation.

''Whoa,'' Kai said in awe.

''Destination reached. Auto return initiated.'' R.E.X spoke, making the ninja turn around.

''Auto return? No, no! Bad, R.E.X.! Bad!'' Gingerninja shouted, and they chased after the temporary-underwater suited vehicle, only for it to disappear under the water.

''Our Aeroblade weapons were in there,'' Zane said.

''Ugh, not to mention our only way back,'' Kai added.

''Hey, stay positive! Who needs a way back when we gotta go that way?'' Jay questioned the others, pointing in the direction of the Tomb's entrance behind them.

''No sword, no powers, no problem. We can do this, guys. As long as we got each other, right?'' Kai asked the others, determined.

''Brother sharpens brother,'' Cole replied, and they walked through a tunnel with speckles of bioluminescent stars, which dimly lit the tunnel.

They then entered a kind of circular room, with doors on each wall each decorated with a different symbol. The door then shut behind them, leaving them to think. ''This could be the first test.'' The Earth Ninja said, looking back at the door which closed.

''Ooh! Why did it have to be tests? Why can't the tomb just be protected by Dragons? We're good with Dragons.'' Jay replied, freaking out.

''That would make it too easy for a ninja'' (Y/n) told him.

''I think we're supposed to pick a door, but which one?'' The Hair-Gelled Ninja asked the others.

''Um, what was it Misako said?'' Gingerninja questioned.

''"A Spinjitzu Master can. A Spinjitzu Master cannot. To move forward, don't look ahead, to find his resting spot." '' Frosty the Ice Ninja quoted.

''A Spinjitzu master can. Can what?'' Kai asked.

''Sixteen doors, for Sixteen Realms?'' Jay answered, looking unsure.

''Well, could be. But let me guess, pick the wrong door and we'll be in a realm of hurt.'' Cole replied.

''Oh, I wish we had the Sword right about now,'' Gingerninja said.

''We can figure this out. "A Spinjitzu Master can." Can...'' Kai said, trying to figure it out.

''The symbol above this door, it's a tornado. This could be the one, right?'' Jay asked the others.

''You could be right,'' Porcupine replied, and the Lightning Ninja walked over to it.

''Jay, wait!'' Zane called out, making the Gingerninja pause, looking at the nindroid.

''Picture recognition analyzing. Pattern discovered.'' Pixal informed.

''Step away from that door, Jay.'' Frosty the Ice Ninja told him, grabbing his shoulder and pulling the Lightning Ninja away from the door.

''W-what is it?'' Ginger Ninja asked, stuttering a bit.

''We're inside a zoetrope,'' Zane answered.

''A zoe-what?'' Kai asked, confused.

''A zoetrope. The engravings in rapid succession creates a moving image.'' The Ice Ninja replied.

''Uh, I don't get it,'' Cole said.

''Basically, it's an animation.'' (Y/n) told them, making them ''ohh.''

''"A Spinjitzu Master can." Do Spinjitzu!'' Kai exclaimed.

''Exactly,'' Zane replied, and the others stood back as he did Spinjitzu. ''He's creating some sort of shape.'' He then stopped and pointed at the door with the Yin-yang symbol over it. ''That one. That's the door out.''

''I don't know, Zane. Isn't that the same door we came in? Are you sure?'' Cole asked, unsure.

''Are you sure you want to doubt a Nindroid?'' Zane questioned the Earth Ninja.

''Never doubt Zane.'' (Y/n) added, patting Cole's back.

''Open the door. Let's find out.'' Kai replied, and the Lightning Ninja opened it, and the ninja walked into the room of the second test.

''But...that's wasn't here before. How can it be the way, if that's the way we came in?'' Cole asked, baffled.

''Well, welcome to the Tomb of the First Spinjitzu Master,'' Kai replied.

''Hey, hey! Nice one, Zane. Who needs the Sword of Sanctuary when you've got a Nindroid?'' Gingerninja asked, patting the Ice Ninja's back.

The Destiny's Bounty flew above the water, before landing, making the sea spray rise up and hit the sides of the ship.

''These are the coordinates Ronin's ship had directed them to,'' Misako said, walking out onto the deck with Wu.

''Then the tomb is right below here.'' The Old Tea-Obsessed Man replied.

''That's not all that's here. Morro's friends must have paid a visit, but I don't see Ghoultar. The Ninja must have already taken care of—'' Nya said and gasped when she saw the Bow-skilled ghost looking at them. ''They know we're here. Should I arm the cannons?''

''No. Getting into unnecessary battles only distracts us from preparing for the necessary ones still ahead. We wait, but just in case, how is your Water training coming?'' Wu asked the Water Ninja.

''Uh, who knows? I can move water but it's not like I can control it. Whatever.'' Nya replied, indifferent.

"Whatever?" Ronin's indifference is rubbing off on her.'' Wu told Misako.

''That girl has always put too much pressure on herself. If she's moving water, perhaps it's working.'' The Old Woman replied.

As they walked in, the Fire Ninja noticed a golden staff. ''The Staff of the First Spinjitzu Master.'' He said, walking towards it.

''Wait! This is the second test, remember? Zane, what do you think?'' Cole asked the nindroid.

''P.I.X.A.L. can see no pattern. For this riddle room, I'm at a loss.'' Frosty the Ice Ninja informed the others, scanning their surroundings.

''Think about it. The first test was a "A Spinjitzu Master can." So this one's "A Spinjitzu Master cannot." Though, saying it out loud, I don't like the sound of that.'' Jay told the others.

''Hmm,'' Kai said, thinking. He then stepped on a tile, activating a deadly trap of spikes. ''Uh-oh!'' Everyone dodged it, with a spike landing on the wall near (Y/n)'s face, but she didn't flinch.

''Is everyone okay?'' Cole asked, covering his head.

(Y/n) gave a thumbs up, signalling she was okay.

''Oh, that was a close one,'' Zane replied.

''Every step, uh, a trap,'' Gingerninja said, looking at the spike that nearly impaled Kai.

''How does one reach the staff if it becomes more difficult with every step to get there?'' Frosty the Ice Ninja asked. ''If I'm correct, this riddle room poses quite the conundrum.''

''So if a Spinjitzu Master can't do it, how are we supposed to reach the staff?'' Cole questioned.

''Watch and learn.'' Hot Potato Head replied, using Airjitzu, but fell and activated another trap. ''Huh? What—uh-oh!'' He dodged it, only to trigger more traps.

''No. Wait!'' Cole yelled.

''Not that one!'' Jay shouted.

''Just stop!'' Zane told him.

The Ginger Ninja accidentally stepped on another tile, activating more traps which the ninja had to dodge to avoid being hit.

A wrecking ball swung at the Ghostly Earth Ninja, which went through him. ''Wait, I'm a ghost. What am I worried about?'' He asked before the wrecking ball pushed a button, making water leak out. ''That! That, I can worry about!''

''I can make it,'' Kai told himself, trying to get to the golden staff, activating more traps.

''Kai!'' Zane shouted.

''No!'' Cole yelled.

''Will everyone please stop moving!?'' Ginger Ninja screamed.

The ninja stood on parts of the floor which hadn't sunk.

''I can make it. It's just a hop, skip, and a jump.'' Kai said, doing Airjitzu, but didn't get far, crawling back as the tiles fell under him.

''But what else comes with a hop, skip, and a jump? You trigger one more trap, I don't know how much more we can take.'' Cake Devourer replied.

''The clue clearly said this is a test a Spinjitzu Master cannot do. So why are we not listening to the clue!?'' Ginger Ninja asked, screaming.

''Trust me, I can make it,'' Kai reassured the others.

''Wait. What is it's a trick? What if the reason we can't do it is because we were never meant to reach the staff? What is the first rule of being a Ninja?'' Cole asked the others.

''A Ninja never quits.'' Frosty the Ice Ninja answered.

''Exactly, and that's why we can't do it. Because a Ninja would never give up.'' The Earth Ninja replied.

''What are you trying to say? We just quit? Are you insane?'' Kai asked him.

''This time, trust me.'' Cole said, jumping off his tile while (Y/n) did the same.

''Geronimo!'' The Master of Illusion shouted as she fell.

''(Y/n)! Cole!'' The others yelled after them.

''Whoo-hoo! Haha! Come on down and enjoy the ride!'' Cole shouted.

''They're alive!'' Zane exclaimed.

''No we're dead!'' (Y/n) yelled back. The others then jumped down, with Kai being the last to fall, landing on an icy slide.

''Seriously? Try to stay together!'' Porcupine told the others.

''Stay together?'' Jay asked. ''I'm just trying to stay in one piece! Aah!''

''No!'' Cole shouted.

''Oh, great. Aah!'' Kai yelled, not going fast enough on the slide and landing on top of Zane. ''Sorry.''

The Spectral Earth Ninja landed on the two, and Jay did as well, making the boys split apart once again, before grabbing onto an icy stalagmite.

''No, no! Aah!'' Zane yelled as his fingers lost grip on the icy surface, with the others following as well.

Kai accidentally grabbed two icicles. ''Huh?'' He said, seeing Jay and (Y/n) using them as skis.

''Whoo-hoo! I love skiing! Haha!'' Gingerninja exclaimed. Kai then hopped on his, doing the same. ''Yeah!''

''All right!'' Cole exclaimed, before screaming as they fell through a wall, finding themselves in the room of the third and final test.

''Is everyone okay?'' Zane asked the others.

''I'm fine.'' (Y/n) answered, and the Ice Ninja helped her up.

''What did we get ourselves into?'' Kai questioned.

The Lightning Ninja climbed a wall and saw the icy spikes were a maze. ''Oh, it's a maze! I'm great at mazes!''

Kai looked at his reflection in the ice. ''Huh! Whoa! If my reflection means anything, I'm starting to think we won't be breaking out of this maze any time at all.'' He told the others.

Zane looked at his reflection. ''My reflection. Is that...me? I look older, but our attire is different. I don't believe these reflections reveal our inability to escape, but a mere glimpse of our future selves.'' The Ice Ninja informed the others.

''Misako said: "To move forward, don't look ahead." Is that what it means? Wait a minute, why is it I can't see my reflection? Where is my reflection?'' Cake Devourer asked the others, unable to see himself.

''It's probably because you're a Ghost,'' Kai told him.

(Y/n) looked at her reflection, seeing herself in the mirror ice. She then noticed a Grandfather Clock in the background of her reflection, with hands pointing to the current time.

'Wait, I don't look like a ghost, I shouldn't tell Cole this.' She told herself.

Squinting she tried to see any more details and saw a familiar old face, but he had black hair. She frowned, remembering her grandfather didn't look that young.

''Hey, guys, guess what. I get an awesome eyepatch! And there's something else.'' Jay told the others, gasping when he saw something in his reflection.

''What, Jay? What is so great that you see that I clearly cannot?'' Cake Devourer asked.

Jay mumbled something under his breath the others couldn't hear, while (Y/n) was busy trying to figure out the meaning of her reflection. ''N-nothing. Just an eyepatch.'' Ginger Ninja answered.

Remo looked at his reflection to see a bounty of ham sandwiches surrounding him. ''Okay, this is good.''

''Wait a minute, I think I see me,'' Cole said, taking a closer look only to discover it was the spooky ghost warrior. ''It's Morro! He's in the maze too!''

The Master of Wind looked at himself in his reflection. Strangely enough, he couldn't see himself as a ghost, but as a human, and in the background, a lit campfire could be seen, with people sitting around it. He then remembered what he was doing and broke the icy wall, looking at Jay.

(Y/n) turned her gaze to Morro, who broke through the wall, holding the Sword of Sanctuary.

''All you Ninja do is talk. Blah, blah, blah. I'll stop you from talking!'' The Master of Wind told Jay, making him back up against a large ice chunk. He swung his sword, missing the Master of Lightning who got up and ran away as Morro swung at him.

''Aah! He's attacking an unarmed man!'' Jay screamed.

''We're coming for you!'' Kai replied, and he and Zane ran after the Lightning Ninja.

''This is not the way,'' Pixal informed him as Porcupine went the wrong way.

''Not that way,'' Zane said, tackling Morro before he could hit Jay.

''Zane's here, but Cole and (Y/n), where are you?'' Gingerninja asked as he used an icicle to fight Morro.

''I don't really know. But I'm coming!'' Cole answered, walking through a wall. As he did so, Remo accidentally tripped the Master of Wind. ''Huh, why didn't I do that sooner?''

(Y/n) helped the Spectral Earth Ninja up, and Morro sliced an icicle, it ending up in Cole's outstretched hand.

The Master of Wind glanced at the sword before blocking the Earth Ninja's attacks, using his sword to knock the makeshift weapon out of his hand.

Seeing Jay's reflection in the sword Morro turned to face him, and the Lightning Ninja ran at him, with the Master of Wind jumping over him, slipping a bit on the ice and continuing with their fight, Morro kicked him down and Jay rolled out of the way as the Master of Wind struck the spot where he just was.

Zane bonked Morro away from Jay, using his icicle to defend himself from Morro's swift attacks, being backed into a half-crown of icicles. The Ice Ninja kicked the Master of Wind's knee, knocking him down.

The two continued with their fight, and Zane was cornered by Morro and the Master of Wind went to strike at him, only for Cole and (Y/n) to stop him with their icicles.

Morro knocked the others away from him, and (Y/n) looked into his eyes, trying to find the emerald green within them.

''Let Lloyd go!'' She shouted and for a moment the Master of Wind hesitated, before shaking his head and focusing on his mission, using his leg to sweep her off her feet and using his foot to hit her away from him.

The boys then attacked Morro, with the Master of Wind using his powers to knock them away from him. Kai noticed that more icicles appeared when one of them was sliced off. ''Huh. Come on! Catch me if you can!'' He taunted, leading Morro to a pile of icicles, trapping him in them.

''Huh, it's like a hydra, take one off, two more take its place.'' (Y/n) noted.

''No! You can't trap me. I'll find you, Ninja. Just wait, you'll see!'' Morro told them.

''Quick, how do we get out of here?'' Jay asked the others.

"To move forward, don't look ahead." Cole quoted.

''Don't look ahead. Look below!'' Ginger Ninja said, looking at the floor of ice.

''There's light. Everyone, dig!'' Kai told the others, and they dug, falling into the Tomb of the First Spinjitzu Master.

''Ow! What? What is it?'' Jay asked the Fire Ninja.

Porcupine panted. ''It's him. The First Spinjitzu Master.''

The ninja bowed their heads in respect for the creator of Ninjago.

''The Realm Crystal,'' Zane replied, prying the crystal from the First Spinjitzu Master's grip with the utmost care.

''How does it work?'' Kai asked, looking at it.

''How it works is you'll hand over the Crystal, or say goodbye to your friend.'' The Master of Wind spoke, holding Lloyd.

''I'm sorry. I couldn't stop him.'' Green Bean apologised.

''It's alright, you tried your best.'' (Y/n) replied, trying to reassure him.

''So what'll it be?'' Morro asked.

''If we hand him the Crystal, he'll usher the reign of his master, cursing Ninjago and every realm,'' Zane told the others.

''But if we don't, when has he never made good on a threat? Look at Lloyd. He's too weak to protect himself.'' Cole replied.

''Ugh, either option totally stinks. What do you think, Kai? What do we do?'' Gingerninja asked the Fire Ninja.

''Looks like the decision is up to you, Kai. So choose.'' Morro told Kai.

The ninja were beginning to make the Master of Wind impatient, trying to figure out what to do to save Lloyd.

''Stop stalling! Give me the Realm Crystal, or else!'' The Spooky Master of Wind commanded.

''We're not stalling! We're thinking!'' Porcupine replied, and the ninja huddled together in a circle. ''He's totally right, I'm stalling. What are we gonna do?'' He asked the others.

''Ugh, this guy really chaps my hide. I swear when this is all over...'' Cole said, and his anger made the ground tremble a bit.

''Our powers. Now that Morro's out of Lloyd's body, they're starting to come back.'' Kai realised.

Jay grunted. ''Yeah, but like Lloyd, they're weak. And we're in no position to fight back.''

(Y/n) looked at Morro, feeling her powers finally return, she grabbed the stick of lipstick from Ronin, looking at it before putting it away.

''Leave that to me. Be ready.'' The Fire Ninja replied.

''Times up! You leave me no choice.'' The Master of Wind told them, threatening to drop Lloyd into the cold water.

The Master of Fire summoned a flame, heating up the crystal. ''Wait! We'll give you the Realm Crystal!''

Morro laughed as Kai threw the crystal to him, but dropped it into the river. ''The Crystal! What have you done!?'' He screamed, pushing the Green Bean into the stream with a gust of wind.

''Lloyd!'' The ninja shouted after him, seeing Lloyd's head go under.

Kai, Cole and (Y/n) chased after Lloyd while Zane and Jay went after Morro.

''I can't get to him. I can't swim!'' The Fire Ninja shouted as they ran.

''You can't swim? (Y/n) and I can't touch the water! We're Ghosts, remember? You at least had a reflection! What happens to me?'' He asked Kai.

Zane used his powers to freeze the Sword of Sanctuary before Morro could stab Jay. ''Nice one, Zane!''

''He's gonna drown!'' Cole shouted.

''Ugh, this is crazy. What am I doing?'' Kai asked himself, diving into the water to save the Green Bean. He then grabbed him and swum to the surface.

Jay used his Lightning, but the Master of Wind easily dodged, making it hit Zane instead. ''Oh, no.'' The Master of Lightning said, checking to see if the nindroid was okay. ''Kai's got Lloyd, but who's got Kai?''

''Oh, come on,'' Cole replied.

''You have to grab them, (Y/n) and Cole! Before they both go over!''

The Master of Earth pulled the two up, with (Y/n) helping. Then, they watched as the Crystal fell into the waterfall, towards the dark abyss. ''No! Huh?'' Cole said as the Realm Crystal stopped, and flew into the air, landing in Morro's hand. ''Everyone, run!''

''No!'' The others shouted.

''I'm sorry.'' Lloyd apologised.

''They took the Realm Crystal,'' Nya said.

''But what about the others?'' Misako asked.

The Water Ninja gasped. ''They made it! All right!'' She said as the others appeared.

''I knew they could, thank goodness!'' Wu exclaimed.

''My son. They've saved him!'' Misako exclaimed.

''Yes. Yes, they did.'' The Old Man replied.

''You all sacrificed so much to save me.'' The Green Ninja told them.

''Heh, I promised to look after you, didn't I?'' Kai asked him.

''But now Ninjago's gonna be cursed,'' Lloyd replied.

''Yes, but now we have you.'' Frosty the Ice Ninja told him.

''And now our powers are back,'' Gingerninja added.

''Thank goodness for that.'' (Y/n) spoke with a small smile.

''As you get strong, so will we. And they haven't even seen us at full strength.'' Cole said, smiling.

Ack, finally, it's done, now I can relax for the rest of the day :D
