It doesn't even matter

I had to fall

To lose it all

But in the end

It doesn't even matter

---

The Boys were "practising" their new elemental blades on the shore of the Island.

''Order up. Coconut cream pie. Served well done!'' Kai said, using his fire sword on a coconut projectile, making it explode. Everyone groaned and laughed.

''It is good to have our powers back,'' Zane replied.

''Yup, you're right,'' Jay spoke, patting his friend on the back. ''And since we've all been working on our witty quips to follow every cool thing we do, I'd say we got this final battle in the bag. Or should I say...''

Jay signalled Cole to launch another coconut. ''...I'd be shocked if we lose!'' He used his lightning on the coconut, laughing as it exploded.

''Enough! Are you trying to reveal our hidden location?'' Wu asked, pointing his bamboo staff at them.

''Uh, sorry, Sensei. We were just practising our cool new Elemental Blades.'' Kai apologised to the Sensei.

''And our witty quips,'' Jay added.

''Be wary of overconfidence, Ninja,'' Wu told them. ''While it is true your powers can defeat the Stone Army, only Lloyd alone has the power to defeat Garmadon. When it is all over, then we will see who laughs last.''

''Yes, Sensei.'' The boys replied.

In the distance, Zane's Father was repairing the Falcon while Lloyd watched.

''Every cog, every gear is important. If one piece is missing, or out of place, the invention won't work.'' Doctor Julien told the Green Ninja, then closing the Falcon's panel. ''Come now, little one. Time to fly.'' The Falcon flew to the ninja, while Lloyd watched.

''It is like you Ninja. You each serve very important roles and are key parts to a magnificent fighting force.'' The Old Sensei told Lloyd.

Cole spotted a "coconut," unaware it was the Falcon, fired Earth at it. ''Eat dirt, scumbag!''

Zane gasped and countered it with his Ice. ''That is not a coconut!''

''Nice reflexes,'' Cole commented, The Falcon squawked and landed on Zane's arm.

''Good to have you back, old friend,'' Zane said to his mechanical feathered friend.

(Y/n) walked towards the boys, with Remo. The little snake was holding a small coconut in his mouth and threw it towards the boys, and Jay caught it.

''If we're all gears, what if I'm the gear that doesn't work? What if I don't do my part? What if I can't defeat my father?'' Lloyd asked the old-timer.

''What if there are no more "What-ifs"? The Final Battle is almost upon us. When that time comes, we will know the answer to what ifs whether we like it or not.'' Wu answered.

''I know you don't want to face your father, but there is no other choice,'' Nya told the Green Ninja.

''But perhaps there is. I used to think it was inevitable, but then I found this.'' The old woman spoke and showed them a scroll.

''You mean Lloyd doesn't have to fight? This I gotta hear.'' Cole said, walking with the others to join them.

''The scrolls say that when the Helmet of Darkness is bequeathed to its rightful ruler, the Celestial Clock will count down to the activation of an unspeakable weapon. The first sign that the Final Battle between good and evil has begun.'' Misako replied, looking back at the scroll. She unrolled it, showing them.

''Did you just say "unspeakable weapon?" '' Kai asked.

''Uh, I'm still stuck on what "bequeathed" means,'' Jay replied, confused.

''Go on, Misako. Don't let us interrupt you. How do we stop the Final Battle?'' Cole asked.

''There is nothing here that explains what would happen if the Helmet of Darkness is returned,'' Misako replied.

''Interesting. Remove the helmet, the clock starts. Put it back, the clock stops.'' Wu said, looking at it.

''And the Final Battle never starts,'' Lloyd replied.

''Bequeathed, anyone? Is anybody gonna help me out with that?'' Jay asked.

''It means to return something to its rightful owner.'' (Y/n) answered.

''Oh, okay.'' The Lightning Ninja replied.

''Uh, that sounds great and all, and I know we have our new powers, but you expect us to get past his whole army of Stone Warriors and pluck the helmet off his head?'' Kai asked Misako.

''My brother's right. They're good, but they're not that good.'' Nya replied.

''I know. And that is why I am going to do it. I'll just need a little help.'' The old woman signalled the ninja to her side. ''In order to get past their guards, we need to first get control...''

''I'm sorry, Lloyd. This mission isn't for you.'' Wu told Lloyd, stopping him from joining the others.

''But I'm all powered up, I can help.'' The Green Ninja replied.

''We mustn't let you and your father come face to face yet. We're trying to prevent the Final Battle, not welcome it.'' The Old-Timer said.

''Yes, Sensei,'' Lloyd said, looking at his feet.

---

Some Stone Warriors opened the gates to let in Misako, led by the Ninja disguised as Stone Warriors.

Misako grunted, pretending to be struggling against the rope. ''Unhand me, you fiends!'' She demanded.

Kozu appeared, speaking in the Stone Warrior's language.

''Uh, what did he say?'' Cole asked the others, whispering.

''I don't know,'' Kai whispered back.

''I believe it is an ancient language,'' Zane told the others, whispering as well.

''Well, somebody say something.'' He whispered, before raising his voice to a normal volume. ''Uh, bada-bada, bing-bong!''

''Cheep, cheep, chit-ta-ta-ta!'' Kai said.

''Tick tock, tick tock.'' Zane tried to speak in their language.

''Bequeath, bequeath, bequeath!'' Jay said.

''Cliff, cliff.'' (Y/n) said, resisting the urge to facepalm.

''Huh?'' Kozu said, confused.

''That's right, you caught me. But I'll never tell you where our base is. And you won't hear another peep out of me unless you take me to Garmadon.'' Misako spoke, walking towards the Stone Warrior General, and Kozu growled, grabbing the rope and taking her to Garmadon.

---

While Misako talked to Garmadon, the ninja worked on their ''witty quips''.

''How about this? It's "ice" to see you.'' Zane said while the others sat down.

''Uh, I don't know. I feel like you could do better.'' Jay replied.

''I swear I heard that before,'' Cole said, shaking his head.

''Ugh. I feel like a clunky mule in this thing.'' Kai told the others. Kozu talked to them in his strange language. ''Uh, is he talking to us?'' The Fire Ninja asked, whispering.

''I think he wants us to get working,'' Zane whispered back.

Kozu shouted louder and pointed at the Garmatron. The Ninja ran away towards it, with (Y/n) looking at Kozu with a glare. ''You're not my mother.'' She mumbled. She then followed the boys.

''Bequeath, bequeath, bequeath!'' Jay spoke, hopping on one foot.

''Tick tock, Polly wock!'' Zane said, running.

''Bing-bong!'' Cole said.

''Cliff, cliff.'' (Y/n) said, rolling her eyes.

---

The Ninja were forced to bring Dark Matter to the Garmatron.

''Aw, man! No matter how many bad situations we get ourselves out of, we never seem to be able to escape chores!'' Jay complained.

''What is that thing?'' Cole asked, seeing something that was being built.

''It must be the unspeakable weapon Misako was talking about,'' Zane replied.

''Look, guys. An elevator. Sweet.'' Cole said, but they were stopped by Kozo from going in. ''Ah. Relax, relax. Forget it. Sheesh, what is wrong with these guys?''

''Who knows?'' (Y/n) asked, shrugging.

''I don't know about you, but that just looked like some sort of massive cannon,'' Kai said to the others, seeing something sticking out of the wooden fence.

''What do you suppose it's for?'' Zane asked.

''Oh, I don't know. How about to destroy us?'' The Lightning Ninja answered. A short Stone Warrior then attacked Cole with a bamboo staff.

''Hey, why don't you bonk someone your own size, half-stack?'' He asked, and kicked the short Stone Warrior off the platform. ''That guy seriously had it coming.''

''Ninja, go!'' The boys shouted, using their spinjitzu to change into their gi, while (Y/n) let the illusion melt away.

Watching as the Stone Warriors came up to attack, they prepared themselves.

''At least we get to break the ice!'' Zane said, using his elemental blade to summon ice beneath the Army's feet, making it slippery.

''Haha. Nice one, Zane!'' Kai replied, putting his hand on the nindroid's back.

''Now you're cooking with gas. Or should I say, electricity!'' Jay said, shocking a few Stone Warriors who had come up in an elevator. They then went down. ''Going down?''

''Save some lines for us, Jay. I wouldn't want us to bowl over the competition.'' Cole replied, then using a rope to swing in a crowd of Stone Warriors, but missed. ''Oh, this is bad. This is really really—'' He then slammed into some barrels. ''Bad.''

''Let's get Misako and get out of here!'' Kai told the others.

''Ninja, go!'' The boys shouted, doing spinjitzu to knock a few more warriors off.

''You got the helmet!'' Zane exclaimed, seeing her with it.

''And you got spotted!'' Misako replied.

''Cole gave us away,'' Jay said, looking at Cole.

''All right, I've had a rough day. Can we stop laying blame, and focus on what's in front of us?'' Cole asked, putting his hand on Jay's arm.

Kai heard rumbling behind them. ''Maybe we should worry about what's behind us.'' He said as they turned to see Garmadon, in the Samurai Mech.

''Cut them down to size.'' The Captain of Chaos said, laughing and swinging a giant sword at them. Luckily they moved out of the way in time.

''If we do not return the helmet before the clock strikes zero, we won't be able to prevent the final battle,'' Misako told them.

''Don't worry, I'm on top of it!'' Jay reassured Misako. ''Yah, whooo!'' Jay jumped, but the Mech threw him up into the air. Jay screamed as he was being slammed onto the ground. ''Oh, maybe not. Ugh.''

''Didn't mama ever teach him the bigger they are, the harder they fall?'' Cole asked, using his Earth but the Lord of Darkness deflected the rocks. ''Oh, apparently she did.''

Kai used his Fire but the mech was not flammable, walking through the fire. ''Oh, great.''

''Bye, bye!'' Garmadon shouted, punching Kai with the mech's fist.

''Ugh, well, we better think of something fast, because...I'm out of lines! Hey!'' Kai said as the ground broke beneath him. They moved, and Nya, piloting the Earth Driller, arrived, saving them in time.

''Hehe, in the nick of time.'' (Y/n) said to the Samurai Girl with a smile.

''Whoa, it's Nya!'' Jay said to the others.

Nya tripped Garmadon using the Earth Driller, buying them some time. ''Hey, guys!''

''How did you know we needed you?'' The Lightning Ninja asked.

''Lookup.'' Nya said, pointing to the Falcon.''Get in!'' She said, and they hopped in. ''Hang on.'' The drill then went into the same hole it appeared through.

''Heh, cool hat. I wonder if it'll make me look more menacing.'' Jay said and put it on.

''Is that really wise? If that helmet turns you evil, we're kicking you out.'' Nya told him.

''Uh, is that possible? Uh, it's probably got Garmadon cooties anyway.'' The Lightning Ninja replied, taking it off.

''If you do have his cooties, then you're the only one to get them. Because there's no chance I'm wearing that.'' (Y/n) said, sighing.

''Did we get the helmet?'' Wu asked on the screen.

''We did, and we're all accounted for,'' Nya answered.

''Then let's rendezvous at the clock.'' The Sensei replied.

''It's so dark in here. One of these have got to be a light switch. '' Jay said, pressing a few buttons and screaming when he saw a Stone Warrior.

''Uh, sis, can we go any faster?'' Kai asked Nya, looking at the Stone Warrior.

''We're going as fast as we can,'' Nya replied.

''We're definitely not going fast enough,'' Cole told her.

''Okay.'' She said, going a bit faster and getting away from the Stone Army, bursting from the ground.

''We're losing them!'' Jay exclaimed, seeing them get further away.

''Whoo-hoo!'' Kai cheered.

''Excellent,'' Zane said.

''Awesome!'' Nya said.

''Might want to not celebrate yet.'' (Y/n) told them, and they looked behind them, to see Garmadon chasing them in his mech.

'Oh, we were going to have a party...'' Morro spoke, sarcastic.

''Uh, oops,'' Zane said, looking at him.

''Hang on!'' Nya said as she swerved around. ''Have we lost him?''

''Not quite!'' Kai answered.

Nya turned more corners, trying to lose the giant mech behind them. Garmadon caught up to them and picked up the Earth Driller. He shook the vehicle, before throwing it.

Nya tried to break the glass. ''Ugh! It's stuck!'' Garmadon's mech grabbed the vehicle by the front end.

''I think I'm gonna be sick,'' Cole said.

''I finally have you Ninja in the palm of my hand.'' The Lord of Darkness said, laughing.

''Let them go!'' Lloyd shouted, shooting the mech with his Energy.

''Ow!'' Jay and (Y/n) said at the same time.

''Lloyd, be careful,'' Nya told the Green Ninja as he appeared.

Garmadon got out of his broken mech, too weak to fight back.

''Holy cannoli, Lloyd and Garmadon in a face-off! Take the shot, Lloyd!'' Jay shouted loud enough for the Green Ninja to hear.

''He's vulnerable!'' Cole exclaimed.

''Do not hesitate!'' Zane said.

''Strike now!'' Kai told Lloyd.

Garmadon coughed. ''I'm sorry, Father. You leave me no choice. It is our destiny.'' Lloyd told his father, making an Energy ball but he didn't fire it.

''No! What is he doing?'' Jay asked.

''Oh, Lloyd.'' (Y/n) said, pitying him.

''They're coming,'' Misako said as the Stone Army advanced. Garmadon laughed. ''Lloyd, we need to move!'' She told her son.

''The clock is not too far from here,'' Nya said, looking at him.

''Okay!'' Lloyd replied.

(Y/n) hopped out of the vehicle. The others looked at her while Lloyd hopped in himself.

''Don't worry, I'll hold on.'' (Y/n) reassured them.

The Ninja leave in the Earth Driller as Garmadon watches them escape, with (Y/n) somehow holding on. Arriving at the clock, (Y/n) let go and hopped off.

''Wow. This clock is a mechanical masterpiece.'' Nya said, looking at it. They walked up to the clock and looked at it.

''You're welcome to dismantle it once we stop it,'' Misako replied, looking at her.

''There's only a couple minutes left!'' Jay exclaimed, pointing at it.

''Everyone, look for the helmet's perch! It could be anywhere.'' The old woman told them.

''You don't know how to return the helmet?'' Wu asked.

''It has a resting place somewhere,'' Misako answered. She placed the helmet. Seeing as it did nothing, (Y/n) bit her lip. ''Oh, that didn't work. Maybe here.''

''Perhaps I found the perch!'' Zane exclaimed, and Misako threw it down to him. ''Ugh, no. Wrong place.''

''And at the wrong time.'' (Y/n) said, looking for a spot the perch may be.

''Oh, what about here?'' Jay asked, and the Ice Ninja threw it to him, and he placed it on a sphere, only to find it also did not work.

''Could this be the place?'' Wu questioned, and Kozu pushed him. ''Oof!''

''No!'' Kai said.

''There's only thirty seconds left. I believe it's time to die—'' Kozu said, holding the helmet. A pole then pushed the helmet away and out of his grasp. ''No!''

''Get the helmet!'' Misako shouted.

''Right!'' Cole replied, getting to the helmet before the Stone Warrior did. He then dropped it.

''Ah! The helmet's perch!'' Misako shouted, seeing it.

''There's only ten seconds left!'' Wu told them.

''I'll get it,'' Misako replied, and a Warrior tried to stop her, but Wu kicked him aside.

''Hurry, Misako!'' Wu said.

''Okay!'' Misako said, doing a flip into the air and placing the helmet on the perch, making the clock stop.

''No!'' Kozu screamed.

''Ah! It worked!'' Lloyd said, throwing his hands into the air.

''We did it!'' Nya exclaimed, and then hugged her brother.

Everyone cheered while Stone Army growled angrily, but the clock started again, blaring a horn.

''No.'' Wu said, looking at the mechanical masterpiece.

''The final battle...'' Remo said, looking scared. Kozu laughed evilly.

''The Horns of Destruction. We were too late.'' Misako said to the others.

In the forest, Garmadon sat, next to his damaged mech.

''Overlord, what has happened?'' Garmadon asked the evil floating bacteria.

''It has started.'' The Overlord replied.

Garmadon saw a beam of light from the clock. ''What is that thing?''

The Ninja tried to fight, but the cliff broke away, leaving Nya who was screaming.

''Nya!'' Jay shouted.

''Jay!'' Nya shouted back.

''Sis!'' Kai shouted.

Kozu grabs Nya, while they watched, helpless.

''Let her go!'' Jay shouted.

''Or what? You will make a big splash?'' Kozu asked the Lightning Ninja.

(Y/n) looked at the others with an apologetic look. She then looked up at Nya and imagined herself in her place.

The Samurai Girl was no longer the one separated from the group. Jay held onto her tight as the split part of the cliff fell.

(Y/n) was in Kozu's grip, but not for long. She let out a burst of orange electrical energy, sending the Stone Warriors off the cliff and they were never seen again.

She kicked and punched a few more before all of her energy was used up. Kozu punched her head, knocking the girl out.

Hearing the distant voices of the Stone Warriors and the shouting of the others, she blacked out.
