The ninja had finally achieved their long-awaited dream of being in space. That meant Jay, not the other ninja.

The Lightning Ninja looked out the small window in the side, staring into the endless night of space, while the others floated around.

(Y/n) was sitting upside down, watching the others as they tried to navigate with the lack of gravity.

''Is this the greatest thing ever or what?'' Jay asked the others, doing a backstroke without the need for water.

''Where are you? We're trapped in space and you...where did you go?'' Kai asked.

''Guys, we're in space. I thought this is stuff only Fritz Donnegan gets to enjoy.'' Jay replied, moonwalking upside down.

''Fritz is from a comic book, dude. This is real!'' Lloyd told him, bumping into the side while flailing his arms around helplessly.

''Well, you got me hooked on the character. Would you lighten up and not step on your dreams of being a real Starfarer just yet?'' The Lightning Ninja asked the others.

''We have to find a way to take control of the ship. If they get the Golden Weapons back to the Overlord, Ninjago doesn't stand much of a chance.'' The Green Ninja replied, and the Fire Ninja accidentally bumped into him. ''Whoa!'' He screamed, flying across the room.

''But there's no access to the rest of the ship. The only way out is through the same airlock we came in.'' Kai told him.

''And if my memory banks serve correct, space has a way of taking one's breath away, in the negative sense,'' Zane informed the others.

''Enjoy it while you can, Jay because, in five minutes, the entire ship is scheduled to lighten up. The supplemental boosters are set to detach.'' The Ice Ninja said, looking at a screen.

''Uh, I'm a Ninja, not an astronaut. What does that mean?'' Kai asked.

''The portion of the ship we are currently stationed will soon detach and we will be abandoned in space with it,'' Zane answered.

Nya appeared on the screen with Garmadon, Wu, Pixal and Remo. ''Hello? Kai? Anyone? Can you read me?'' The Samurai Girl asked.

''We read you loud and clear,'' Kai replied.

''They're alive! They're alive.'' Garmadon said, happy.

''Whoa! Yes!'' Nya cheered.

''Good to hear you, We're going to get you home safe. Pixal was able to find the blueprints for the rocket. You need to escape the cargo hold before it's too late. Near the front of the ship is an A2 storage compartment. Inside are emergency spacesuits.'' Wu instructed them, showing the blueprint.

''That will be a doozy. We can't get the spacesuits unless we go outside. Problem is, we can't go outside without the spacesuits. Any other suggestions?'' The Earth Ninja asked, accidentally hitting Lloyd in the face.

Garmadon covered his microphone. ''They are completely out of their element. Even if they get through this, what chance do we have of getting them home?'' He asked the others, whispering.

''Uh, we can still hear you.'' The Fire Ninja replied.

''Yeah, we could really use some encouraging words right about now,'' Lloyd added, upside-down.

''If you cannot change your circumstances, change yourself,'' Wu told them.

''Hm, can anyone else figure that one out?'' Kai asked the others.

''His wisdom usually takes a while to set in. But we don't have a while!'' Jay screamed, grabbing the screen.

''Zane, you're the only one who can survive outside the ship,'' Pixal told the original nindroid.

''She's right. I'm the only one who doesn't need oxygen. I must go alone.'' The Ice Ninja replied. He then went to the door, opening it and closing it behind him, looking at the others through the small window in the door.

''Go get 'em, Zane,'' Kai said, and Zane disappeared from view.

The little snake watched from the other side of the screen, worrying about (Y/n). The girl turned and went over to the screen with a smile.

''Come back to me safe, will you?'' Remo asked, almost sounding sad. ''I can't eat these ham sandwiches alone you know.''

''Don't worry, I will come back.'' (Y/n) reassured him. ''The others will take care of you until then.''

''Okay,'' The little snake replied. ''Just don't be too long.''

''Come on, Zane, where are you?'' Lloyd asked as they watched the countdown.

''Booster separation on my command. Five, four, three, two, disengage.'' Cryptor commanded, and the booster separated from the rest of the rocket, while the others back in Ninjago waited.

''We made it!'' Lloyd spoke, making them cheer.

''We have our spacesuits and found one way to change ourselves. At least now we can stay on this ride a bit longer.'' The Green Ninja continued, with the ninja now in their spacesuits.

''All right, to commandeer the ship, you have to get to the cockpit. You'll find an access hatch just ahead of you.'' The Samurai Girl told him.

''You know what's also ahead?'' Cole asked. ''A desolate void of nothingness. If anyone of us falls off...''

''That is not a good thought.'' (Y/n) replied.

''We'll take it slow. Together.'' Kai said, and they held on, screaming as the ship briefly accelerated.

''I can't wait to see the expressions on the faces of those metal chrome domes when they find out we stowed away on board,'' Jay replied, looking over at Cole.

''They're Nindroids, nimrod, they don't have expressions,'' Cole told him.

''Oh, yeah,'' Jay replied. ''Well, Zane has expressions.''

''Zane's not like them. Do we really have to go over this right now?'' Kai asked him.

''It's just so quiet, I'm only trying to fill the space. Get it?'' The Lightning Ninja asked. ''Space.''

''So much for our surprise attack.'' The Earth Ninja said as they saw nindroids appear. ''Look out!'' The home-made tin cans fired at the ninja, laughing.

A nindroid flew over to them, standing above Jay with a blaster. The Lightning Ninja used a radio antenna to hit the nindroid away, and took his blaster, firing at the nindroids.

''Wow! Cool!'' Lloyd exclaimed, watching him.

''All right!'' Cole said.

''Not Jay. Fritz Donnegan! Fear isn't a word where I come from.'' The Lightning Ninja replied.

''Oh, man. I'm sorry for introducing him to that.'' The Green Ninja told the others.

''Don't be. If we can't change our circumstances, that's one way to change yourself.'' Kai replied, and they joined the fight. ''Fire!'' he shouted, blasting fire at a nindroid.

'There's no oxygen in space, yet he can use fire? What is this madness?' Morro asked.

'It just works.' (Y/n) replied.

''Hope we don't need that,'' Cole said as he grabbed an object and threw it, knocking another nindroid off.

''Ice!'' Zane shouted, firing a sphere of ice, which froze a nindroid on contact.

''Looks like someone got frostbite.'' (Y/n) said, grinning as she watched the frozen nindroid float away. ''I'd hate to be that guy.''

''Ninja—Uh, oh! Aah!'' Cole exclaimed, doing spinjitzu but he floated away instead.

''Cole!'' Kai said, watching as the Earth Ninja drifted away.

''Guys! A little help, please?'' Cole asked.

''We can't use our Spinjitzu in zero gravity. There's too little resistance.'' Zane told the others.

''Too little? I'd say the resistance is bit more than we can handle at the moment.'' The Green Ninja replied, using his elemental shield.

''Haven't you heard, scourge?'' Jay asked a nindroid. ''No free rides!'' He flipped the nindroid before kicking it away.

''Help!'' Cole shouted, spinning around helplessly.

''Jay! Don't let Cole get away! Ugh. Fritz! Save him!'' Kai told the Lightning Ninja.

''I'm on it, Commander Kiflin.'' Jay replied. ''I just blew you away. Haha.''

''Help!'' Cole yelled.

''Fritz Donnegan to the rescue!'' Jay replied, attaching a rope to his suit before going after Cole.

''Help!'' The Earth Ninja yelled again, panicking.

''Gotcha! Next time, don't get carried away.'' The Lightning Ninja said as he grabbed Cole's feet.

''Ah, thanks. I owe you one.'' Cole told him.

''Okay. Stay away from Nya.'' Jay replied.

''Maybe a different one.'' The Earth Ninja said.

''You are almost to the cockpit. Just make sure to continue your course. And focus on the task ahead.'' Wu told the ninja.

''Sensei? I'm getting interference. I can't hear you.'' The Fire Ninja told his sensei.

''Asteroids,'' Zane said, as one almost hit the group.

''Cryptor's steering us into the tail of the comet. Find cover!'' Kai told the others before an asteroid came and broke off what could be considered cover.

''Cover? What cover?'' Cole asked the others, and some nindroids went inside the ship while the rest of them huddled in fear.

''Hey! Haha! They do have expressions. Ha.'' Jay said, and another asteroid appeared, hitting more nindroids. ''Nevermind.''

The ninja were about to land, holding on tightly.

''Looks like we're coming in hot,'' Kai said before Lloyd lost his grip.

''Lloyd!'' The ninja yelled, quickly forming a chain to catch him.

''Hold on!'' Cole told him.

The ninja were on the ground after the space ship had a crash landing. Cole sighed as he got up, and (Y/n) looked around, seeing giant icy spikes.

''Ha! We survived!'' Jay exclaimed, finding himself in one piece.

''Nya, are you there? Dad? Wu? Anyone?'' Lloyd asked, but there was no response.

''Maybe the others didn't make it,'' Kai replied.

The ninja walked to the space ship, and went inside, finding it empty.

''They're all gone,'' Zane said.

''They must have already left for the weapons. Quick, let's take the ship before they get back.'' Jay replied, before realising the one important thing they needed was gone. ''Argh! They took the launch key.''

''Are you telling me this entire ship starts up with a simple little key?'' The Fire Ninja asked.

''Come on, tell me one of you knows how to hotwire this thing?'' Cole asked the others.

''Hey, guys. Come and see this!'' Lloyd said, appearing, they followed him to a room. ''They took the lunar rovers. Looks like they left tracks to follow.''

They took the last lunar rover, with the boys in the small space while (Y/n) held onto the vehicle.

''Argh! Move your gas tank, I can't see.'' Jay complained.

''Ugh, your blaster is in my rib,'' Kai said.

''Ugh, that's not a blaster, that's my leg.'' The Lightning Ninja replied.

''Zane, you're squeezing my arm,'' Cole told the nindroid.

''I thought that was the accelerator.'' The Ice Ninja replied.

(Y/n) held on as the vehicle crossed uneven terrain, with one time she almost fell off, but quickly regained her grip.

Hiding behind a boulder, the ninja looked at the nindroids who had stopped where there was something glowing golden. ''This must be where the Golden Weapons landed,'' Kai told the others.

''There's the weapons,'' Cole replied, looking at the mass of gold.

''And there's the key,'' Kai added.

''Shiny.'' Said a nindroid, reaching for the gold.

''No, don't.'' Cryptor tried to warn the nindroid, but it was too late. The nindroid disintegrated, making the others back away. ''Only the Overlord can withstand the power of all the weapons combined. No one directly touches it.''

''Those are the Golden Weapons all right,'' Jay said.

A beetle appeared, climbing onto Zane's hand. ''Hello there, little friend.'' He said, holding it up.

''Oh, would you look at that? Can you believe it? It's an extraterrestrial lifeform.'' Jay replied, showing Cole it.

''It's a bug. And it's not what's important right now.'' The Earth Ninja said.

''Oh, there's so much we could learn from it. So much we could teach it. I'm gonna call him Glowy. Oh look, Glowy can fly. How cute.'' The Lightning Ninja said as the bug flew before landing on Jay's helmet.

''You must not disturb the alien life. They are very dangerous. Can you hear me?'' The old sensei spoke, though his voice wasn't all that clear.

''I couldn't make that out, Sensei. What did you say?'' The Fire ninja asked.

''The alien life. They're very dangerous.'' Wu told them.

''A few years ago scientists studied a meteorite that had fallen to Ninjago. It mostly came from the same comet you're on. Inside the meteorite, there were the fossilized remains of some kind of parasite that feeds on metal alloys.'' Nya informed them.

''They tickle,'' Zane said, laughing as he and Jay were covered in more beetles.

''Silly Glowy,'' Jay said.

A beetle crept up onto Zane's face and bit him. ''Ow.''

''Do you hear me? Whatever you do, don't come in contact with the parasites. They eat through metal!'' The Samurai Girl told them.

''Argh! They're eating through my exoskeleton!'' The Ice Ninja said as more of the bugs appeared.

''Bad, Glowy! Bad!'' The Lightning Ninja scolded, trying to shake off the bugs.

(Y/n) swatted a few from her face, with some attempting to eat the metal of her hoverboard.

The boys screamed, revealing their hiding spot.

''They're on me too!'' Kai shouted.

''They're everywhere!'' Jay screamed, and they ran, trying to lose the metal-hungry bugs.

''What do we do? Any ideas, guys?'' Zane asked the others as they tried to get rid of the bugs.

''Space. Why did we come to space? If I could change any circumstance, I'd change ever coming here in the first place.'' Cole answered.

''If you can't change your circumstances, change your mind,'' Lloyd replied.

''Now's not the time to be quoting Wu.'' The Lightning Ninja told him.

''No, I finally see what he means. This is just like the Starteeth. Come on, I've got an idea.'' The Green Ninja said, and they went back on the rover to chase the nindroids while the beetles still followed.

Seeing the ninja, the nindroids used their blasters to fire at them, while (Y/n) kept low holding on.

''Sensei meant instead of focusing on how wrong things are, focus on what's right. We have to think positive. Those parasites aren't just a menace, they're a weapon. Attack!'' Lloyd ordered the beetles, and they swarmed the nindroid's vehicles, distracting them, and one swerved off a cliff.

''Now let's go get that launch key,'' Kai told the others.

''Ninja, go!'' The boys shouted, except for Lloyd and (Y/n), and the ninja jumped off the vehicle and onto the nindroid's one.

''Ice!'' Zane said, firing a sphere of ice at a nindroid, making it fall off. He then kicked another off.

''Hello.'' Cole greeted the nindroid driver, appearing on the windshield. The Earth Ninja then kicked the nindroid out of his seat.

After getting the key, the ninja headed back to the space ship, only to find it swarming with the extraterrestrial bugs.

''The rocket. It's...destroyed.'' Lloyd spoke, looking at the now destroyed space ship.

''Then how are we gonna get home?'' The Lightning Ninja asked.

''There's no way back.'' The Earth Ninja answered.

''You're not the only ones who can adapt! So long, Ninja!'' Cryptor said, standing in front of the Golden Weapons. They then flew, using a net to hold the mass of gold with them back to Ninjago.

''No,'' Lloyd said as he watched them getaway.

''They got away. We failed. I repeat, they got the Golden Weapons.'' Kai told the others back in Ninjago.

''Are you on the rocket? Can you stop them?'' Nya asked.

''No. The ship is destroyed. We're not coming home.'' Her brother replied.

''What about (Y/n)?'' The Samurai Girl asked, and the boys looked over at her.

The girl shook her head. ''As I told you once, I can't fly with all of you, I'd get tired easily.''

'Well there goes Plan C.' Morro spoke.

They stood there as the extraterrestrial bugs swarmed them, unable to do anything.

Yeah, no one likes getting frostbite.
